    Mother's Day sunrise yoga

Perfect Mother's Day gift to myself while visiting the island from California! Maria was friendly great instructor, I was able to rent a mat as well . Sunrise yoga with fellow yogis is such a great experience to share the love of the practice and meet new people. The beach was so beautiful even a little rain didn't scare us off but rather enhance the true experience and beauty of nature with your practice . Blessed for this amazing experience back to Cali in the am but forever have this memory! Thank you Marie

Okay, let's start this review off with me saying that I dislike yoga. I really do. I can't really get into it. However, when I hear "beach yoga" and am visiting Hawaii, I figure I can't pass it up. And I'm glad I didn't... I really loved this! I took just the sunrise classes and gosh, it was beauuuutiful. Just the sounds of the ocean and the light coming up made the experience wonderful. Sarah is great. She's super chill and keeps the class fairly simple, while still offering harder positions for those who can handle it (spoiler alert: not me). She also provides mats. Small thing but convenient. What a great experience for someone like me who was pretty skeptical. I would definitely recommend!

I was in Kailua recently for a week and was lucky enough to stumble onto Island Flow Yoga for a sunrise yoga class on the beach! Sarah is an amazing instructor and is very welcoming, makes you feel right at home, is very knowledgable and gives great cues during class. The sunrise yoga class is worth the effort to get up early - you start class in the dark and and the sun is rising up over the islands in the distance as class is ending. Your first class is free, so you should definitely check it out! She offers a kettle bell class after the sunrise class, which sounded interesting. I enjoyed Sarah and her class so much that I went to another class at her sweet studio a couple of days later. The second class was a restorative class and I had the best night sleep afterwards. Her drop-in class rate was $20, which was totally worth it to get in some great yoga and support a small business owner. If you're a local then she has some great monthly membership rates. Also, her website is well organized and you can easily view her class schedule and signing up for classes is a breeze. She was very quick to email me back after I asked a question before my first class. Interestingly, she is one of the only yoga places in the area that offers yoga on the beach. I highly recommend Sarah and her yoga classes! Peace and Namaste.

Taking a yoga class with Sarah was one of my favorite parts of my trip to Hawaii. First of all- the setting was amazing. Right on the beach- views of the sunset and rainbows above the water in front of us, gorgeous view of the mountains behind us. Class wasn't too hard or too easy- very good for intermediate yogis- and she provided yoga mats. I loved her teaching style- she used Sanskirt words for all the poses, not just the well known American names, which I really appreciated. She focused on breathing and was eager to help and give encouragement. If I lived in Hawaii- I would take class with her all the time!

If you are looking to take your yoga practice to the beach, whether you live here or are on vacation, I can't recommend Sarah's business more. It was my first time to Kailua Beach and wasn't sure where to look for her, that wasn't a problem bc she found me right away. She had mats for us, music perfect for the scenes, and even took pictures of us as we practiced with the sunrise. She is a skilled guide. I've been practicing yoga many years and I found her teaching style to be very well rounded. Friendly and encouraging with gentle suggestions and challenges. This flow class is appropriate for all yoga levels.

Now, one can do this on their own, you just need tons & tons of discipline and motivation. One summer, I needed my body to be rockin and fit to strut down a catwalk, so I decided to up my workout regimen from hiking, swimming, and running, to workouts similar to cross fit & military style exercises. I read about this Boot Camp in one of those mini brochure things you get in the mail and I was intrigued. I called Kalani and asked if I can show up one morning at their town location. (They had a boot camp in town at this time, right now I think due to less demand, they don't have it offered for Kapiolani park) I started in the middle of their camp, which was totally cool with him so I just pro-rated my sessions accordingly. They offer several different types of classes, from 3-5 days a week, personal, small group, corporate, and back yard. I chose the 5 days a week bright and early at 530am!! The workouts were definitely intense and if you're diligent you WILL get the results you want. What was great about Kalani and his brother (who instructed the town bootcamp at the time) was that there were women of different levels of fitness. So, you workout according to what's best for you. Kalani and his brother were very professional, friendly, and helpful in all aspects of training. You can talk to them about any concerns, goals, and questions you have regarding the workouts and nutrition. I learned so many great exercises that I still use today, and it's been 2 years since I've been apart of this boot camp. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in getting a great workout, being apart of a great community of women who help motivate each other, and just getting healthy again. I admit, it WAS hard waking up around 430am to get to camp on time, but hey, I was so energized after wards it didn't even matter. I DO wish that more people knew about this awesome opportunity so that they could open up their town location again, then I'd be all over it!!! oh btw, I DID reach my goal of getting fit!
