Had a French drain installed, OMG! job was done quickly and professionally! Crew did their work without playing around, stopping only for lunch break. A couple of months ago, I gave a 5-star rating for Island Green Landscaping and Maintenance. We hired them to cut down some trees and clean up our badly neglected yard. They did an excellent job. We moved here 22 years ago and never updated our yard--imagine that. After the tree trimming was completed, I mentioned to owner, Susano Saoit, how stray cats chose our yard to use as their personal pooping station. He informed us of a particular kind of synthetic grass that cats cannot claw or dig through which discourages the cats from pooping. Since my husband can no longer do yard work due to an illness, synthetic grass was the ideal solution. Susano noticed our outdoor patio "floor" consisted of bricks which were unsafe to walk on due to natural shifting of the ground. Rather than covering the entire patio with synthetic grass, we opted to have the bricks removed. After prepping the bare ground, Susano's crew poured cement. That was a wonderful decision to make. My husband had an old, unused pigeon cage that was demolished and hauled away by the crew. After laying down the grass, the crew eventually carried a tool shed to where the pigeon cage once stood, allowing more space on our patio floor. That was a monumental task in itself. My mailbox and post were in need of a replacement as well. Susano's crew previously cleared up the front section where they initially removed trees and shrubbery. On their last day, I happened to purchase a mailbox and post. The new "kit" was opened and the post was securely set with concrete (one of the guys ran out to purchase some to mix). Hallelujah!!! I encourage you to give Susano a call and he will be only too happy to see what he can do to help make your yard beautiful again. May I reiterate that every day the crew came, they cleaned up and took away all the trash that they made (and then some). Sorry for the lengthy review, but Island Green Landscaping and Maintenance did a lot for us retirees. Tired of no shows, Susano said for the 3rd time that he will come and look my irrigation problem. Of course, Susano never showed up. Called and left a message but typically no answer. Got lucky if he answers. He set up my yard with irrigation 10 years ago then after that he never follow up. I never learn my lesson not to call him back. Finally decided to find better yard people that I can definitely depend on. NO MORE ISLAND GREEN!!! read more

Susano and his team were great! I did not know much and received several quotes from other companies. They were way overpriced. Susano is down to earth and easy to work with. I had a hard time picking out the plants and he provided suggestions but ultimately the choice was ours. They put in irrigation in three parts of our yard, front, side, and backyard and he is repairing some other persons mistake when they cut corners on our side of the house. We had a party coming up and we wanted to sod in the front completed so we could have grass and not dirt, they got the job done! highly impressed. Island Green and Susano's crew are the nicest and hardest workers here in Oahu! Our yard not only looks stunning, it looks bigger! We started out only doing our back area. After Susano customized the design with not only the new turf they added more plants in the newly created flower beds and used our rocks for added flair. They get a one star simply because they've answered their phone on some occasions when trying to reach out to them. We were looking for someone capable of doing work on our sprinkler system and reached out to them. They would give us a date that they would come out and then end up being a no show three times. On the last conversation we spoke to the boss because the employee that was supposed to show didn't show and he said that they forgot to let us know that he called in sick. Which is not a bad thing but being the third time no show with no communication is just not good. We decided to go with another vendor eventually because they were just prolonging the process of getting our system fixed with no guarantee or nothing to make up for time wasted waiting on them. read more

Our experience is both good and bad. Good News Island Green gave us the best price for both landscaping and irrigation. They were quick with the work, installed nice plants, foliage, and greenery which has all grown very well. The lawn was planted with pods (instead of sod) since it was cheaper, and grew with varied results. Mixed-seed pods grew different grass types (which we're managing with weed/feed) but overall it took hold and spread evenly and green. They provided six months of maintenance (lawn service, feed/weed, and plant maintenance). The Rainbird irrigation system was solid and provided good lawn coverage and waters most of the plants. There is one area around the plants that is lacking but 90% coverage is still good. Bad News There is unfinished irrigation work on our property and they have horrendous follow-up. They installed irrigation PVC piping in the small lawn area between the sidewalk and road curb as part of our overall landscaping but failed to install any sprinkler heads. When we connect a water hose to the fixture nothing happens, just pipes filled with water under the grass. We contacted Susano many times to correct the problem and he'll promise to show up or have his people come by and complete the work but no one ever does. For over 6 months they've lied and failed to complete the tiniest of work. They've ignored the problem for so long it has left us no choice but to report them to the BBB for poor service, to alert other customers on Yelp, and to pursue legal actions to reclaim lost monies. read more

Wish I could give them a better rating, but I tried to give them my business, but they never followed through with an estimate. The owner came out to give me an estimate and said he would send me a proposal, but he never did. I called him and he said he sent the proposal, but I never got it. He said he would send it again, and again, I never received anything. I was thinking of giving only one star, but the owner was very nice and he did come out to look at my place, but he never followed up with me. I was always chasing after him to give me my proposal, but after several months, I just gave up. Maybe he just didn't want my business. read more
