Really excellent experience all around with this company, I wish I could rate them more than five stars. This company was recommended by a colleague and it was a fantastic recommendation. We had a couple of water activities we wanted to do, and Sky Pirate was EXTREMELY accommodating to the activities, as well as rescheduling in case of weather. I could not be happier with them and I can't recommend them highly enough. We rented a small boat one day. The price included the fuel for the boat. We had the absolute best morning riding around in it. The guide was really helpful in explaining the guidelines for the boat, as well as where we needed to stay (geographically, unfortunately we could not take the boat way out into the ocean lol). We came back with no issues and with the craving to go back ASAP. Another day we went parasailing. I thought it was gonna be maybe 20 feet above the boat. Nope. We were so high up, it was such a gorgeous view from way up there. We saw the idak and from a new perspective And even saw some dolphins way down in the water. We felt very safe and had a fun time with our group. We were elated with our experience with Sky Pirate and we would highly recommend them. We can't wait to be back! read more

Miserable experience. Unfortunately, when I went, I had been sick. I didn't want to interfere with the reservation so I went ahead with the jet skiing. Well, it was very fun, I was sick, so unfortunately, it made me kind of nauseated. Due to feeling sick I asked if we could change the day of our parasailing to another day later in the week since I wasn't feeling good. They told me that it wasn't possible and that " I had to just suck it up " were his exact words, unless I wanted to lose the money. With that being said, I went ahead with it because I was there with my boyfriend and it's something I wanted him to try since he had never done it before. After we went parasailing, I had asked where I could collect our video, since that was the package we had purchased. Well, to no surprise, they never took it. They didn't offer to redo it another day, they didn't offer to take us back up to take it. They didn't show any empathy whatsoever. This was an amazing experience! The directions were clear and easy for a beginner and they were very nice about opting for being "dipped" into the water. We ended up losing our car keys sometime during the trip and luckily they were turned into the owners and we were able to recover them! They called our number from the reservation which we were so thankful for since it was a rental. Overall, super fun experience and super nice people. read more

I recently had my first parasailing experience. My mother and I chose to go with Sky Pirate for our trip. The staff was very nice to say the least, and very reassuring. It is family owned by a couple, both of which were working at the time. You are literally putting your life in the hands of someone, and I am glad we picked Sky Pirate. I highly recommend Sky Pirate for parasailing. Another woman had flown with Sky Pirate and another company before, and said she came back because the experience was much better with Sky Pirate. I will return as much as possible to parasail with them! It was amazing! Skates, rays, turtles, and dolphins were all around us. Definitely something everyone should do. read more

I thought this company is superb. It's off the beaten path locating the floating office on the dock. But once you do, you're in good hands. The boat captain and the woman who set us up were beyond nice and helpful. We traveled with a special needs teenage son and his first experience was a great one. 5 stars for the parasailing, but 3 stars for the jet skis. We did both and loved the parasailing, but the jet skis were some what of a disappointment because although it is advertised that you are on the water 90 minutes, 30 minutes of that is idling to and from the spot where you can actually jet ski in an open area. So it's really just 60 minutes on your own. There were confined boundaries so it wasn't as open as we've had in the past at other places. The guide was nice and watched us from the side during our 60 minutes but it seemed to end abruptly as he came over and said, "We need to head back." Although not necessary it would have been appreciated had he given us a 15 minute warning since we didn't have our phones, etc. to keep track of time. We'd definitely parasail there again, but we'd probably shop around for jet skis. read more

Had a great time called a day ahead and had no trouble finding a range of times to fit our vaca schedule. They are very cool guys! There is also a family of dolphins down by their dock so keep an eye out ! We flew for about 12-15 minutes. You could see everything and some wildlife below.they dipped us and it was awesome! Wow!! We were very pleasantly surprised by Sky Pirate. I easily scheduled on line (phone) and we arrived a bit early. We were greeted by the staff and knew immediately we'd made the right choice. The lady that scheduled us was very rude and pushy. We almost didn't go just from dealing with her. The captain and mate on the boat were very nice and helpful. It was a great time, that we all enjoyed. Price is the same as many of the others in the area. I wouldn't waste your money on the video package. Then we get there and they can't find our reservation. Offers $10 off but really that's not even that good of a discount for their error when tolls to get there and back will end up being $5. The owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. They called me a few days before to check in with me about my parasailing excursion. After learning that I was going to be arriving after a long drive, they made sure I would be able to get in the air and helped rearrange times so they would work for everyone on the boat. We had so much fun parasailing with Sky Pirates! The captain and the mate were very knowledgeable and fun. Everything was safe and conducted in a professional manner. The boat is awesome and can seat a lot of people. The floating office was a little hard to find at first, but other than that it was a great time. We wanted to see some of the intercoastal areas and I looked around and found Sky Pirate. I'm glad we did. We rented a 25ft "deck boat" to cruise around Calibogue Sound for a couple of hours. Eight of us fit comfortably on the boat which was complete with safety gear and a cooler. Nothing fancy about it, but it was something we had never done before and it was fun If you just want to do something a little different an be in control of your own time, this is a fun activity to try, we saw a few pods of dolphins during our excursion. For someone with absolutely no boating experience at all it was a lot of fun and worth the $250 or so cost. If you're careful and smart you'll have a good time. The lady who works here (or is one of the owners) is incredibly rude, so I agree with some of the other reviewers. I highly recommend that if you don't like human beings, you probably shouldn't be in the service industry. She was in such a rush and so nasty that when she untied the boat she threw it right at me, hit me with it and never acknowledged or said sorry. We would have walked out right then and there but you can't cancel which is why they take your credit card information so far in advance. The other thing to take note of if you're just renting a boat, from their location, you'll be in a no wake zone for about 40 minutes, so taking into account the ride back, you'll spend over 1/4 of your rental time just getting in and out of the slip. Now for the boat, the picture online must be 20 years old, when we got to it, it's was rusty, chipping all over the place and just downright nasty. For the type of money they are asking, you should expect a better boat, or at least one that resembles the one they advertise. Take you hard earned money elsewhere, they clearly don't care about their reputation or equipment, or whether or not you enjoy yourself. read more

The ride took twice as long which could have been understandable if the captain had communicated with us. The ride was awesome which was a bright spot. However the reason for the low rating was that the staff minus the woman helping on the boat were standoffish and a bit rude. We were kept on the boat for an hour and a half past the time we were supposed to get off with zero communication or apology from the staff and if that wasn't bad enough the captain chose the only guest who was non black that he was sorry about the delayed time and that he wanted his family to have fun even though everyone aboard were paying customers and had their plans ruined as well. I have no issues if the company prefers to cater to certain guests however I wouldn't ever spend my money with them and I will certainly NEVER patronize this business again . I have never left a bad review for a company but I was absolutely appalled at the gall ! read more
