Absolutely not recommended. Called as a heating unit was out on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. They came out quickly and the tech Anthony, was friendly and thorough. Bonus points and off to a great start. He did some assessment, found the problem, took our money for the service call and promised to send a quote. Alas, that was the end of the good times. Not expecting anything on Christmas, or New Year, it's now been 9 days, three texts, 4 calls to the office where the voicemail box is full, and nothing. read more

I had an issue with my heat pump and gas furnace. The heat pump was coming on at the same time as the furnace regardless of the temperature. Anthony worked on the system for hours and 3 trips to the house. THEN he disappeared without the issued being resolved. After paying them the $1,300.00 invoice, unanswered text messages, no call backs, full voicemail box etc etc I said I am done!! I called CPI in Oak Harbor...they were out the next day and their tech found the issue and fixed it in less than an hour. CPI is now my go-to company. read more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. From beginning to end, this was an INCREDIBLY GREAT experience! During the HEIGHT of a "once in a generation" snow storm, my furnace died. I called late at night, & received a call back FIRST thing in the morning, and they were here later that same day. From Eric (Owner) to Josh (Tech) - the knowledge, professionalism, KINDNESS & FAIRNESS to an old lady - I am SO appreciative. I may be old, but not stupid - have dealt with a lot of Service Companies in 70 years. The prices are very fair, they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need - integrity and honor are RARE these days. And this company has both. 12/23/2022 1/10/2023: FOLLOW UP It's a VERY old Furnace - 1981 - and the Tech said it could be ONE of TWO things. I opted to do ONE thing - it worked and I've had heat since. But still kept cycling a lot, saw Dollar Signs every time it went on. Decided to have them come out again, and we fixed the second thing. This was their HEAD tech - MIKE - and he went even MORE ABOVE & BEYOND to make sure - not only that it worked - but did a THOROUGH cleaning also - for safety purposes. Eric is who I first spoke with, he was very customer service oriented and he made sure to get somebody out that day because my heat wasn't working and they didn't want me to be cold! The mechanic came out his name was Mike he was so professional and explained everything to me, he was patient and explained how to use my new thermostat and programed it for me. We had Island Heating come out to take a look at our malfunctioning gas furnace. The repairman they sent had no idea what he was doing, kept calling for consultation and came and went several times. Eventually he just replaced the filter, and they charged us a bunch of money. The furnace continued to limp along until summer. This fall when it completely failed, we called somebody else and they fixed it in 30 minutes. read more

Our air conditioning decided to quit during the smoke season. I called Island Heating. The good parts: They came quickly, and they correctly diagnosed the issue (requiring a fair amount of time to replace a stuck valve). The bad part: called back many times for them to actually fix it. I got lots of excuses, but after a week I couldn't get them to schedule anything. So, that was $150 for a diagnosis that didn't help. Called a competitor (larger company). They had the same diagnosis (which we now paid for twice), and came out two days later to fix our air conditioning. read more

I had Island Heating & Air service my furnace for over 20 years. I asked about putting in a heat pump system. The owner agreed to come out to give me an estimate. It took several phone calls to nail down a time for him to come out. Finally he arrived, took some measurements and said he could install a unit for our house. I waited for an extended period of time, called the office several times and never received a call back or an estimate of the cost. We ended up purchasing a unit from Barron Heating. I would recommend not going with Island Heating & Air any longer, their customer service has been declining over the last 5 years. read more

We are grateful to Island Heating & Air Conditioning for their outstanding service during the recent cold snap. Their wonderful response to our urgent request to figure out what was wrong with the furnace when it suddenly quit working, saved us thousands of dollars. Without Island Heating & Air Conditioning's excellent service, the plumbing in the house most certainly would have frozen and burst. It was a simple repair for them which was completed on the spot. The service technician was prompt and courteous. We are so very appreciative of their professionalism and their timely response. Because they don't operate on 'Island Time,' we were able to avoid serious water damage and expensive repairs. Some businesses would have taken advantage of the fact that we were in a bind and overcharged, not Island Heating, their charges were fair and reasonable. my heat went out over the weekend and with it dropping into the 20s at night I really was wondering how this may work out because of the problems I've had here in oak harbor getting anyone to do any work. I went into their office in Goldie and met Rick who was really informative. the one thing I thought may be wrong with my furnace turned out to be wrong so when I got home I called back and they set me up for the next day. Michael came out, probably 30 minutes before the estimated time. got right to work and figured out I had clogged pipes which he cleared up and the furnace was back to working again.i am very happy that he's a veteran too. if and when I call back he'll be the first I ask for. and Eric was exceptionally helpful by also offering to help find other repair workers for me when I'm looking. that goes above and beyond. read more

I asked them to come out to give me a bid to install a furnace. He came out looked around and said I would get the bid in a couple of days. After weeks I called and was told I would get a call back and the bid send. No call, no bid. A couple of weeks later I called again and talked to the guy who came out. He said the bid was almost ready and I would definitely get it in a couple of days. No surprise, no bid. I wouldn't go with this company even if I did finally get a bid. They cannot be trusted to do what they say. read more

Had the greatest experience! Being out of state they where able to quickly install new furnace that just went out in my home, WITH BRAND NEW RENTERS! They even worked with me on a payment plan that was very much needed for me at the time. Surprisingly, they also had the best pricing i could find around town, and I even looked in MT. Vernon. Island Heating was prompt and courteous with all aspects of the job and gave top notch customer service. There was a little bump in the road when it came to the actual installation and it was not a problem. They came up with a solution and finished the job. Unfortunately, my experience was quite different. Although they were fast to come out with next day service. It took a period over two months, three trips and close to $400.00 dollars for them to tell us that we needed a new furnace. Not sure that their technician was the best at diagnostics and couldn't have figured that out in the beginning. Additionally, when provided an estimate on a new furnace it was apparent that they were trying to sell us a larger two-stage unit which was not needed for our one story rambler. Called Baron Heating and received a quote that was almost $1,000.00 less. Wont use or recommend them to anyone. read more

Island heating came out to service our oil furnace for a yearly service. they said everything was working fine. And now 1 day later, it won't light and won't stay lit when we restart it. We called thinking they could get out to us right away as our heat DOESN'T WORK! Nope, "Sorry, can't fit you in..." "we have an appointment in 3 or 4 days..." Seriously!? I would strongly recommend that everyone steer clear of this business if you want a timely, professional and curteous resolution of your plumbing and heating needs. Despite our emergency need for their services, they failed to follow through on promises to provide prompt attention to our situation, refused to take the most basic steps to begin addressing the problem (providing required information in their exclusive possession to the manufacturer to begin the warranty process), and did not return numerous phone messages pleading for their assistance. I was so surprised by their conduct that I checked with other former customers and was informed that they had a common experience. I would only employ their "services" as a very last resort. read more
