They all had different plans and prices. JJ of AP mechanical spent the most time looking at the space and plotting out a plan. He also spent a good deal of time explaining his reasoning, and in the end I decided to go with them. They did the work according to schedule, at the agreed upon price, and any change orders were pre-authorized by me for the price agreed upon, no surprises. Very upfront and honest. The house has great, even heat and AC throughout which is something that my last (few houses) did not so I'm very happy with the quality of their work. I may be old, but not stupid - have dealt with a lot of Service Companies in 70 years. And this company has both. 12/23/2022 1/10/2023: FOLLOW UP It's a VERY old Furnace - 1981 - and the Tech said it could be ONE of TWO things. I opted to do ONE thing - it worked and I've had heat since. But still kept cycling a lot, saw Dollar Signs every time it went on. Decided to have them come out again, and we fixed the second thing. So we scheduled for the replacement on the following Thursday/Friday. On Tuesday, they emailed me the contract and asked for the initial payment. Over the phone call, Hailey told me the furnace is already in stock and she asked me to send the contract and check over the mail. I reminded her that they may not receive the mail by Friday due to the delivery time. I even offered to pay over the phone. She confirmed sending via mail is fine. On Friday morning, I sent an email checking when will they come to install the furnace. Greg responded back saying they weren't be able to contact me, they don't have the furnace in stock, and they haven't received the payment and the contract. So they won't be able to install it as we agreed earlier. Later he email again saying the have the furnace in stock and I have to pay the full price over the phone before they can come out for the job. Obviously they don't have communication internally and treated customer very rudely. We are very disappointed with the experience.

Admiralty Heating & Air is one of the few that is in our community (located in Port Hadlock). When I called the number, the owner himself, Ryan Mickelson, picked up the phone. I told him it was nice to speak to a knowledgeable person on the phone, rather than a phone-answering service. Ryan set up a date to inspect my heat pump. In fact, he would have come over the same day that I called, however, I had to delay his response due to other priorities. But, while I had him on the phone, I asked if he knew anything about hot water heaters, too. Mr. Mickelson was very helpful and actually talked me through the process and, with his help over the phone, I fixed the hot water heater within minutes. Back to the heat pump repair. Ryan Mickelson came to my house right on time. Because of the pandemic, he was very safely covered, gloving up, wearing a mask and, also, booties over his shoes. He presented his credentials and allowed me to inspect his proper licensing badges. He then spent 3 or 4 hours going through my entire house: Closets, attic space, vents, of course, interior, and outside. He conducted a complete inspection and repaired a few tears I was unaware of in the duct-work. He advised me that the pump needed a part that had to be ordered. By the way, I later confirmed the need for this part with a third party. Ryan Returned with the part ASAP and spent another an hour or more explaining all the facts and procedures necessary for me to operate the thermostat so that it works at its highest performance and efficiency levels. He also told me to call him anytime, regardless of how big or small the problem is. He assured me that he will probably be able to fix most problems with just a phone call, at no charge. Speaking of charges, the entire bill, parts, and labor, was less than $130.00...Total. I have the highest praise for this exceptional man, business owner & Jefferson County resident.

Everyone has been really great to work with. May 2024 - I finally scheduled our annual maintenance. They sent James out. He was fantastic. A wealth of knowledge, polite and professional. I signed up for the annual maintenance plan to save money. He made good recommendations based on my needs and concerns of my allergies. Much appreciated! 2026 update - our heat pump stopped working and needed replacement parts. I paid for them to send a tech to diagnose it and they followed through with the work which is under the 10-year warranty. Tech, Hagen was very nice and professional and made sure to answer all of my questions. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I hope that this fix lasts a long time, or at least until we upgrade to a newer, more environmentally friendly unit.

Both estimators were good but Ian from peninsula offered a few more options and it turned out peninsula was about 1500 less ..apples for apples. The day that Stella, Tyler and Scott showed up they told us exactly the plan and schedule. Amazingly they accomodated working around a crazy cat we have and were very respectful of our home. When options came up (location etc) they explained pros and cons so we could make a well informed decision.
