Stopped here with a tour bus as a mandated/pre-planned potty stop. They offer free coffee and juice…read moreat the back of the store, which encourages you to walk past the display cases of jewelry. I didn't see anything that looked like something I would actually wear. Perhaps it's just not my style, but most everything looked very tacky. I wandered over to the clothing-maybe a Hawaiian shirt for my son or a cute dress for myself? The dresses were $120. Yikes! Maybe they were handmade? I'm not sure, but I wasn't ready to fork over that kind of cash. The overall vibe of the store is that of an old souvenir shop that probably doesn't see a lot of non-tour bus visitors. I'm not sure if they sell much at all-nobody in my group boarded the bus with any purchases.

I agree with the others that tour bus companies use this place as a bathroom break stop. They also…read moreserve courtesy cups of coffee here. The tour bus driver whose tour I was on did actually say that the Coral Factory is nice enough to offer hospitality and their restrooms to travelers & suggested we passengers buy something as a sign of thanks. Since I do appreciate a timely stop for relief, I tried very hard to look for something to buy. The prices are high although there was some pretty jewelry. I was not sure it was actually "coral." Try as I might to open up my wallet, I just did not see anything I urgently had to buy. But I still give the Coral Factory 3 YELP STARS for a friendly bathroom and free cup of coffee. It is in a strip mall with some other interesting stores so maybe go check those out while on potty break.

Shopping in Kailua, O'ahu, Hawai'i…read more.. Strolling along the sidewalk, I passed by Aloha Kira and did a double take. I saw Miffy on the top shelf of this store. I had to go in and ask... "Is this store related to the one in Waikiki?" Yes! This is the sister store of Kira x Miffy at the Royal Hawaiian Center! Of course, we had to look at all of the Miffy merchandise... fanny packs, hair clips, stickers, caps, plushies, etc. Other items featured Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, Snoopy, and more! There were pet gifts and a children's corner! The decor was cute and bright! Service was cheerful and attentive! We'll be back because this shop is more convenient than Waikiki! Plus... there's free parking behind the building!

Everytime we go in, they are sure to give Lando so much love and treats. When I try on clothes, the girls here even offer to hold Lando when I'm in the dressing room. Lando will pull me to Aloha Kira everytime we're in the area- he loves the cute dog sections with dog toys and bandanas. The curation of all the stuff here is immaculate - exactly my style! My biggest weakness is baggu bags- and they always have all the newest styles and colors. I will always check Aloha Kira before buying it online and avoid the shipping costs and wait. The selection here rotates so they always have the newest trends- from dresses, matching sets, and I love getting sunglasses from here. If you're looking for a gift for the "it girl" in your life, Aloha Kira is the shop to check out! It's a good price range, especially for gifts!

A decor of your own…read more.. It's amazing what a year did to CocoNene as I remember that this was a slipper store with some build your own decor items which now has focused on just the decor items exclusively and what a beautiful direction they've gone to. Located in Ala Moana Center Street Level near Centerstage if the storefront hasn't captured your attention what they have here certainly will. Fun is what you'll find especially if you're local the humor is definitely there as "On Island time" is their clock where you can turn a simple wall clock with adding a pendulum is the cutest idea along with their Longboard Letter by filling in the gaps with various items that represents the moment and is very interchangeable so nothing is set and permanent is a bit how we live with each new day. "'Opihi Stickers" lol!! Aahhh the creativity of it all as you choose what you want to stick on your surfboard and they do have a bunch to choose from along with picture frames and ornaments there's so much to choose though it all can add up as each item are individually priced here and it's all fun and vibrant that will make anyone smile and the staff here is wonderful to help you with any questions. Thank you!

Interesting that service is different for different people…read more Went to the Ala Moana location today. The person at the register, an older gentleman, spent a considerable amount of time with a Japanese couple, purchasing items. He wrapped, taped, and carefully put items in a bag for them, and handed them their purchase. My turn, maybe it's because I'm in my tshirt and shorts, just a local ol' lady. He rings me up, tapes the plastic bag the item comes in off the shelf, and hands it to me. I didn't get asked if I needed a bag, as it is a gift I'm taking to Japan. I ask if he has a bag of sorts I can put that in? He asks, "such as?". I say, a small bag of sorts? He says, "well we have this brown paper bag, if you want?". Picks up a brown bag from behind the counter. I was done. I said no thanks. And walked away. Why such a difference in service? Maybe I needed to dress better, I'm not sure. I was a bit offended. Products are super cute, this was only my second time here.. I guess it'll be my last as well. So sad. By the way, my husband and I went to Kahala store yesterday, we bought something there. We thought the service was wonderful, the lady helping us was welcoming and helpful. Ala Moana, felt a bit discriminating.
