I enjoyed this place. Check-in went smooth. The view was great looking at the beach. My dislike is i had to clean it. The bed had sand and other things in it. I get that it gets mixed in with the other linens from the dryer but maybe housekeeping could shake them before adding them to the bed. I just went and bought sheets for it myself. The bathroom was not great. There was hair on and around the toilet and in the tub and on the floor. But that didn't kill my trip. Just not the thing you want to do after driving 5 hours to get there. The rest of everything was great. I'd for sure stay again. read more

At least we left room 408 better than we found it... My family stayed in April 2022. I knew it was classified a "basic room" when I booked it, but I wasn't prepared for just how shabby it was (especially for the four figures I paid for the four nights.) Upon entering, we discovered: 1) toilet seat broken 2) microwave utterly rusted out 3) furnishings are VERY worn and dirty. The bed skirts look gross with (what I hope are) bleach stains. 4) the laminate countertops are wavy & in need of replacement. 5) Wall behind the door/closing the hall closet is falling down. 6) Bathroom is very old and lots of water damage & broken tile. The balcony has two FOLDING CHAIRS only. So comfortable for morning coffee or watching the gulf, right? Bare bare bare essentials... two wrapped tiny bars of soap for bathroom and sink & one tiny bottle of dishwashing soap for the kitchenette. Pots and pans are scratched. Silverware drawer needs to be deep cleaned. Refrigerator needs to be deep cleaned- spills from previous renters. Tile Floor was sticky and just pointed to how housekeeping/cleaning is non existent. I chose to wipe down everything with Lysol wipes and was grossed out by how black the wipes were! I'm glad I packed a lot of my own cleaning essentials! Day 2: When using the shower, discovered that the tub took 30 minutes to drain after a 5 minute shower. Maintance tried for 10 minutes to plunge and try to free the blockage without success- but managed to get this disgusting black debris (looked like biofilm) all over the tub. We sanitized the tub ourselves since we needed to get cleaned up and limited our showers to 5 minutes because the biofilm started backing up into the tub again. Day 3: Fought with the building management AGAIN about getting a working microwave. They finally acquiesced and provided a new microwave. Yay for future renters! You're welcome. Hotel staff is very iffy. Most staff seemed to be borderline indifferent to guests. Only positive is the amazing view. 4th floor is perfect for looking out over the Gulf of Mexico. Definitely wouldn't rent this unit again. read more

Although these units are privately owned, there is an onsite property management company that handles check-in/check-out. My mom and my sister arrived about 2:30p and were told their room wasn't ready (per the website, check-in is 3:00p). My mom is 81 yrs old and requires oxygen so she was extremely exhausted after her flight and she needed to get to her room to lie down. They were told they couldn't check-in to their room because the previous guests hadn't checked-out (per the website, check-out is 10:00a). The manager, Ryan, told them the previous guests were given a late check-out because they were moving rooms (per the website, late check-outs are available "subject to availability"). THE ROOM WASN'T AVAILABLE! As of 3:00p, it was reserved by my mom & sister. They were FINALLY able to check-in around 4:30p. On the morning of their check-out, the manager, Ryan, entered the room without permission! He told my mom "We've been trying to call you. It's after 10:00a and you need to check-out." My mom didn't get the call because the phone in the room didn't work WHICH THEY TOLD THE FRONT DESK ON THE DAY OF THEIR ARRIVAL. As you can imagine, my mom became very upset and called me (I live approx. 10 min away). I told her to put Ryan on the phone. I told him I was on my way and told him to leave the room because I would be there in a few minutes to check her out. He said "I'm just helping her with her things." He wasn't "helping". He was "pushing". He wanted her out of the room and he was "helping" her get out as quickly as possible. Again, I told him to leave the room and I would be there in just a few minutes. When I arrived, Ryan was STILL in the room even though we had told him to get out!! My mom was already upset (crying and hyperventilating) so I didn't want to upset her further by getting in to an argument with Ryan. I AGAIN told him to get out and did my best to calm down my mom. Ryan's behavior at check-in went against their own policies. Considering my mom's health, most "resorts" would have been more accommodating. His behavior at check-out was passive aggressive and bordered on criminal (entered room without permission and didn't leave when asked). This "resort" is in a great location, but the property mgt company is terrible. read more

I have been coming to this hotel since the 80s when I was a kid. This time I was taking my son and his friend. When I checked in she said I was "upgraded" to a different room. I thought great I must be in the penthouse because I had already picked out a great room with a livingroom, kitchette and great bathroom!! Nope I was "downgraded" to a room with a better view (according to them) and no livingroom and an average room. It would have been fine if I was there alone but I was there with 2 17year old boys that wanted to play video games while I was trying to sleep. Hence the reason I spent 2 hrs looking at all their rooms before I made the reservation for room 320. I asked 4 different employees, during my stay, why was I moved and they didn't have any answers. At time of check in, I told them why I picked 320 and if they had a room available with a separate livingroom and was told no and someone else was already in 320. I received no call asking to be moved. I gave 3 stars because I still love this hotel the views are amazing and they have a tiki bar at the pool. They moved me to 308 which is a good room but not for this visit. They called it an upgrade because of the view but 320 still had a view of the bay and gulf and cost more. They did give me a 15% discount but that was on my original rate not the rate of the new room which was less. read more

Updated February 21 there is no hot water like none! I called the front desk asked to talk to the manager and of course no manager on duty. Such a shame. Also the morning desk clerk needs the same customer service lessons as the night clerk! What sucks the most is I am staying here to take my child to her dads grave for the first time and this place which used to be my favorite because of the kindness of the staff caused us extra stress at a time when I really didn't need the stress! Updated for February 20th. Do not stay here ever again! We just checked in and wow the front desk lady really needs some lessons in customer service like serious lessons! We had the worst experience possible! We booked this hotel two weeks ahead of time with an ocean front balcony and they got us checked in, and then an hour later we had guests walk into our room with a room key!!!! I was shocked! Then a lady from front desk called saying we had to leave the room because they put us in the wrong room and gave us a room facing the parking lot! Not only was the front desk lady yelling at us, but they were not apologetic by any means and my reservation was for an ocean front room! We didn't want to stay in a room facing parking lot and they refused to give us a refund. The rooms weren't clean either. Cob webs and dust everywhere. I have never felt more disrespected by a hotel staff. The manager did not step in at all, he just stood there and stared at us when we were talking to front desk lady (who continued to raise her voice towards me) Also, pool was closed. No where on the website did it say pool was closed. We were so excited about our one night getaway because we have a 4 month old baby and we were having a mom/dad getaway for the evening. We went to another hotel down the street but it doesn't make up for the fact that we weren't refunded and it was an awful start to our trip. I don't recommend this place at all!!!! read more

This hotel is cool because it has boat parking across the street for its hotel guest on a first come first serve basis. We have never actually stayed at the hotel but it seems to be pretty decent for an older non-namebrand hotel. It has direct access to Saint Pete Beach and a heated pool. They have all the common beach amenities like volleyball, parasailing, JetSki rental etc. We actually like to hang out at ricks tiki bar which is built into the hotel right next to the pool. read more

Fearing bedbugs Tried to wash all clothes 1 washer broken the other with clothes in it. At 9 am we went to front desk. Manager said inly found sand and particles. Tried to shift blame into his guests stating bugs could have flown in door or come in on feet. Idk about you but pretty sure we would notice bugs crawling up our legs. We really like the Island Inn. We have stayed there three times over the pest three years. We live close but love to get away and spend a night at the beach. We always get 6th floor, gulfview. We have always had nice rooms. No issues at all. The last visit the front desk was extra nice. You can walk to Vip for Mexican food or Sloppy Joe's for seafood. Caddy's for a beachfront bar. Have not tried the tiki bar or the pool but the beach is great! They have a volley ball net and some corn hole boards. Fun place! read more

NO BATHROOM DOOR! You read that correctly. I painstakingly looked for a room in Treasure Island with king bed, ocean view, etc. Not only was this room run down with ripped curtains, black mold in the bathroom, dirty carpets with burn holes, a rattling refrigerator that grinded all the time and an air conditioning unit that rattled very loudly on the other end of the room so sleeping, or watching tv, was useless, there was no bathroom door. And the toilet is aligned with the door so you stare at a MIRRORED CLOSET DOOR while on the pot. So your partner has a view from outside the bathroom because of the mirrored doors. We went downstairs to report it to the receptionist, and she was shocked but had nowhere to put us unless we wanted to spend the first night in a different room then move. She left a note for the employees to see in the morning. The next morning, we bring it up and get the manager who assured us there would be a door put in that day. Apparently the door had swelled and they needed to shave it down. We came home at midnight on day 2- still no door. The manager basically tries to make excuses and tells us the door isn't going to be put in AT ALL while we're there. We said we are done with excuses and now want to be compensated. We were credited $25/night back. We paid what I'd pay for a hotel room at the Wynn in Vegas. Ridiculous. Avoid room 511 like the plague!! read more

Not bad for the price- especially for being beachfront. It has a balcony where you can sit outside from your room and view the beach. The room and kitchen area was nicely renovated. The bed area had hardwood floor. (We were in room 412) I liked that the beach wasn't as crowded. (We were here July 4th weekend). I liked the furniture for the room. There was a dining table in the room for two, and also a bar area in front of the kitchen that was cute (it fit 2) and the kitchen didn't come with a whole oven or anything, but it came with the stove top, which was nice for the price. We also got a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker that still looked new. It would've been nicer if we got a disposable sponge to do dishes since there was no dishwasher. The closet and bathroom could use an upgrade, but it wasn't horrible for the age that this condo looked. Looks like it's been here a few years. read more

This is a nice older hotel / condo beach front resort with studios and 1 bedrooms units (not sure of other possible sizes). The units include a king size bed, kitchen area with full size appliances, a living room area, and bathroom, all fully furnished. Rent is about $100 per night (off peak season), and they offer deals on weekly, monthly, and long term rentals. You can park your boat at the dock across the street and and walk to the resort. The resort is located directly on the beach, so walk out the back doors, and there is lot of warm beautiful white sand, and lots of it, as it a a bit of a ways to walk across the sand to get to the wide open Gulf waters. They have several fun bech activities you can do such as rent jet skis, play sand volleyball, parasailing, swim in the heated large pool, or just lounge in the chairs all around it. The pool is located next to the sweet little tiki bar, that makes great drinks at fair prices. So that is a nice place to relax too, if you tire of laying out on the sandy beach. Very nice place to come and stay a day, a week, or longer, and enjoy all the area has to offer, such as nearby restaurants and shops. This is not a fancy, upscale, luxury resort, but has plenty of enjoyable things to do, great water views / sunsets, and is very affordable for those on a budget. read more

BEWARE credit card fraud and Robbery! This hotel runs huge charges against your credit cards without any cause and doesn't tell you they are doing it! They ran $650.00 worth of bogus charges on my debit card. I only stayed one night here, but they billed my card for three totalling over $800.00. They also put an additional $350.00 hold on my checking account just to use as a deposit against my one night stay. They argued with me about refunding the money. The desk clerk was the rudest person I have ever run into in a hotel. The rooms had peeling wall paper, water leak marks on the ceiling, and very uncomfortable beds. I will never stay here again. I will go out of my way to warn anyone else against staying here. It ruined my birthday: the day they ran up all the charges against my account. They ruined my vacation by holding all my money until I returned home. And it took many phone calls to the hotel manager, the front desk, and I finally had to enlist the help of my bank to reverse the charges. NEVER STAY HERE! read more

First the good. The hotel is right on the beach with great unobstructed views of the gulf. That is the ONLY reason this place gets more than one star. Now the bad: Beds incredibly uncomfortable. Hard, lumpy, caused backaches for my wife and I. Rooms kind of dingy, bathroom not modern and drains backed up. Nice balcony, albeit only half usable due to placement of room air conditioner. Door locks had recently been replaced and our door would not close correctly. It would latch enough so that it seemed locked, but not enough that the prox reader would actually read the card. I finally learned a trick so I could latch the door but housekeeping would just let it fall shut into its inoperable position. The maintenance guy spent an hour trying to fix it, to no avail, and the promised locksmith never came. This made us late to meet friends, watch fireworks, and go to dinner. Place was full so no room to move to. Finally, with one notable exception the staff was rude, and couldn't be bothered when we asked for help with the door. The maintenance guy rolled his eyes when we complained about continued issues with the door, the housekeeping staff went off on my wife, and the front desk woman got angry that we wanted help getting in our room! We had a good time at the beach but it was in spite of the quality of our stay at this place. There are nicer places along the beach. Find one. read more

Dated. Where they upgraded was poorly done. Housekeeping is attitudinal and not in a good way. The bar is what it is, beach service i.e. slow but the beer was cold. Several folks posted the beach view offsets the negatives...I guess that applies if youve never seen a beach before. This is definitely not what is shown on their website. Can't comment on the price as we were here for a wedding and there was a wedding rate, we really didnt compare. There are many other places on TI to stay so doubt we'll be back. read more

I stayed in 601 which is owned by a local real estate agency. I was very pleased as I entered the room and noticed how clean it was. The tile floor was clean and comfortable to walk on. The room had everything I needed for a three day stay and an amazing view of the gulf from the balcony! It is an end unit so the view is much greater than the average room. I spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony reading. I even got some great shots from my balcony with my Canon 5D of a dolphin as it swam along the shoreline. The bathroom is dated, but serves its purpose. The TV is a little small according to today's standards, but I didn't use it much -- the beach and balcony consumed the majority of my time. The pool is kind of small, but a great atmosphere with a tiki bar. I will definitely stay here again! It's a very quiet place with a friendly and helpful person at the front desk. read more

My mom & I stayed at The Island Inn during a busy Spring Break week- we have absolutely no complaints! This hotel is a wonderful getaway for anyone looking for relaxing beach time. Rick's Tiki bar is right on the water, with a number of frozen island drinks and beers for reasonable prices. There was someone available at the front desk at all times, where you can pick up beach towels & information about the island. Paying for WIFI was a slight inconvenience, but if anything, it made us leave our computers and work on our tans. :) The rooms are independently owned, so we requested an up to date refurbished room. The manager of this place (Ryan) is a complete jerk, completely incompetent, and unbelievably incapable of performing his job functions. Ryan should be immediately fired. My mother is 91 and very frail. Her and my sister flew to Florida for a quiet getaway. They timed their flight so they could arrive and UBER straight to the hotel and get into their room (check-in 3PM). - Upon arrival at 3PM (check-in time), mom's room was still occupied by the previous night's tenant. Check-out time is supposed to be 11AM. The manager allowed the previous night's tenant to stay in the room past check-out time and then they had to do housekeeping. My mom and sister did not get into the room until around 6PM. Ryan made my mom and sister wait in the lobby for 3 hours. My mom and sister asked for another room but Ryan being the incompetent idiot he is -- did nothing. He left a 91 year lady sit in the lobby for 3 hours. Unbelievable. - Then after a week stay, my mom was waiting for my brother (who lives in FL) to pick her up. The time was 11:30 AM. Ryan used his house key to enter my mom's room (did not knock or announce entry) and told her she needed to get out of the room. My mom told him she was waiting on her son (5 minutes from hotel). Ryan said she needed to get out now and started loading her luggage onto a cart (without mom's consent). - Ryan kicked her out of the room and took her luggage down to the lobby. - One person is allowed to stay in a room for 4 hours after check-out while a 92 year old lady is kicked to the curb after 30 minutes past check-out??? - Ryan's treatment of my mom was abhorrible. Ryan, you are lucky I live in Tennessee. I would have kicked your ass if I were there. I'd still love to meet you!!! Yelpers beware, Ryan will probably have 4 or 5 "friends and family" immediately follow this posting with how great he is and 5-star postings. I think we're all smart enough to understand that game. This has become a really wonderful place to stay. I have stayed there several times in the past and the entire resort has been taken over by a new management company along with a new Board of Directors. The rooms have been renovated the people are cordial polite and it was a pleasure to stay there. The pool is a bit small but really nice. There is a tiki bar which serves drinks and in the area would you relax and enjoy. The staff is extremely friendly especially at the front desk. I would recommend the island in resort to anyone staying in the Treasure Island area. It's close proximity to the water is a real benefit. read more

*False Advertisement!* Their website makes it look like you will be renting this gorgeous condo on the beach. Not true! Each condo is individually owned and updated by the owner. Our condo had clearly not been updated in years and when it was "updated" it was a very sad attempt. My family does not vacation often due to financial reasons. We were super excited to go on our first family of 3 quick get away. When we arrived and the lobby smelled like cigarette smoke and clearly hadn't been updated in years I knew we were in for trouble. We went to our room and it smelled sour and I was immediately disappointed. It was GROSS! There were dead bugs, stained linens, pillows that had yellow stains on them, mold in the dish washer, scum in the shower, not to mention everything was rusted! The mattress was clearly over 20 years old. I got home and noticed bug bites all over my arms. I'm fairly certain I got bed bug bites. The porch had an ash tray so clearly they allow smoking on the balconies which can obviously drift into the rooms. The floor was stained and rusted. Just gross! We asked for a more updated room but they wouldn't accommodate us and didn't offer any type of refund. I must say the pool was small but warm and enjoyable. And whoever does their landscaping does an excellent job. Everything else was disgusting and I would never go back. read more

It wasn't anything spectacular but it served it's purpose. The pictures in the advertising are the larger end rooms and not a typical room that you would get without paying more. There is a nice little Tiki Bar by the pool and all of the rooms are second floor and higher so you'll get a Gulf view. I believe all have balconies. It's basically an old hotel with a small Kitchenette. The place was clean and the staff was nice. You won't really be able to walk anywhere, but the car ride will be short, you're about 2 miles from Saint John's Pass, which is nothing more than shops and a few restaurants but it's a nice afternoon or two. Everything is within a short drive but parking can be a challenge. Be aware of the Sun Dance Gathering they have at the Main Beach, there is a heavy set guitar player who wears a Banana Hammock, it took me months of therapy to recover from seeing that. read more

The Tiki bar at the hotel is awesome and so was Patty the bartender, best rum runner I've had in a while! We stayed in a newly remodeled room, be sure to ask when checking or when you make your reservation in for a newer room! We had a early morning flight and got to the hotel around 12:30, they made us sit on the little couch in the lobby until 3. We did have a very nice room and didn't expect that from the reviews so we were happy on that. My only complaint is that the front desk is SO rude. We stayed here for 5 nights and won't not give us anymore towels and there was only 2 in the room. We had to go buy more. How you could just walk out the door onto the beach was amazing but the tiki bar is way over priced and not good. Bring your own. There's so many places around here I think we could've found something better for the price. read more
