Major projects are sometimes unavoidable. Rather, we believe the extent of the disruptions affecting our stay was never adequately disclosed. During our booking discussions in the summer of 2025, no mention was made of major construction. The day before our arrival, we received an email describing a "much needed facelift" and advising us to expect some "exciting activity" during weekdays. What we actually experienced was far more disruptive. Workers repeatedly used our unit to transport equipment and materials, scaffolding was erected on our balcony, and our exterior windows and doors were covered with plastic for nearly three weeks, eliminating most natural light, airflow, and views. Noise, dust, and limited pool access further reduced our enjoyment of what was intended to be a premium six-week winter vacation. After discussing our concerns and requesting compensation, we were offered only a 10% discount on a future rental, the same offer apparently extended to guests whose units were affected far less than ours. Had we known the true extent of the disruptions before arrival, we would have seriously considered alternative accommodations. Our complaint is not that construction occurred. After paying to stay in this condo, we were shocked to be hit with a $200 "cleaning" charge for items that were nothing more than normal, minor use -- including wiping out a freezer and cleaning a stovetop. These were simple wipe-down tasks that do not justify an outrageous fee. Even more concerning was the way our service dog was treated. Our dog is a legitimate service animal who has been accompanying us for over a decade, yet the property attempted to report him. The lack of understanding, professionalism, and respect shown toward a trained service animal was extremely upsetting and unacceptable. A rental company should understand the difference between normal occupancy and damage. Charging excessive fees for routine cleaning while questioning a service animal reflects a lack of fairness and customer service. I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here. There are many rental options available where guests can expect to be treated with basic respect and where reasonable expectations are applied.

Still a solid experience…read more We came here for one evening to celebrate the end of school. We came at about 3:15 PM on a Friday and our room was ready early which was great. We were on floor 16 which is the top floor. At first, I was worried I would be afraid going on the balcony because of how high it is, but it doesn't feel terribly high. I actually recommend asking for a higher floor because that's where the best views of the beach are. We only went to the Opal sol pool this time instead of Opal Sands. They have two pools, which is great because one felt like an adult pool whereas the other one felt like a children pool even though there was no designation. It made me feel better about my two children splashing about. There is also a pool by the Spa that I think adults should escape to if they want to get away from children. The one downside of the pool is they don't have many servers walking around taking orders. I ended up walking up to the bar to put in a food and drink order because the only server was on the far side of the pool the entire time. I tried berries and bubbles and a strawberry Mo-to-to, both were fantastic. We learned we do not like the chips and salsa. My older son did and liked the queso, but nobody else in the family did. We also love the hot tub and you can turn on jets if you want. Even though it doesn't feel like they have a ton of seating, we never had a hard time finding a seat, so people do a good job cleaning up after themselves if they leave their seats. They also have tons of towels, I never thought I would appreciate this so much until we were at another hotel that limited guests to four at a time, so I appreciate that you can take towels to the beach and then come back and grab new towels. The rooms are beautiful. They feel spacious and everything is still pretty new since it was built at the beginning of 2025. All rooms look at the beach, so it is nice sitting on the balcony and looking out at the water. One random criticism is that they don't have any non-caffeinated tea, all their tea has caffeine in it that they offer in the room. Room service is very quick. We got chicken tenders and fries and grilled chicken and fries. I tried the Ahi tuna starter and loved it. My younger son loved his grilled chicken and older son ate the fries. Even though the hotel isn't right on the beach, it is literally across the street from the beach so super convenient to get to. Clearwater beach is beautiful. It has powdery white sand, and there are ample amounts of chairs that you can purchase to sit on. They only have valet so the one downside is it takes a while to get your car, but if most of your vacation is on the beach, you won't need your car anyway. I also appreciate that they have snacks that they put out at 8 AM. They also apparently have cookies at 3 PM, but we totally missed seeing that. I forgot to bring the kids snacks so this was a lifesaver when the kids grabbed granola bars for breakfast. They also have Board games on every floor, which I think is a nice touch. I always enjoy our stay here. I would recommend.

The feel is very modern with large rooms and balconies. The rooms have kitchens, free snacks and refreshments. You can get even more amenities by upgrading your room. The resort is connected to Opal Sands (a sister resort) by a skybridge. Guests have access to both properties! You can use pools, restaurants, spas and more! The rooms are well appointed and spacious! I enjoyed the amazing spa and can't wait to return!

It actually exceeded our expectations! We arrived a few hours early and they let us park in at the hotel. Which was great since they are located 2 blocks from the beach. The room was very spacious and had a full kitchen, 2 tvs etc. The biggest surprise was the balcony for the guests. It was right outside our room. Hanging chairs, comfy rocker/gliders overlooking the town. It even had an ice machine, water machine with different flavors, temps and could even do sparkling water. An elaborate coffee machine was also there that made lattes, mochas and standard coffee. They have beach chairs, towels, umbrellas and even carts u can use to walk to the beach. Coming back, they have an outdoor shower and hose to rinse off. We decided to stay for a bit the next day and we were told we could keep our car. there til 4p- so we enjoyed the beach some more! We've already told others about this great find.

The AC worked well and the shower had good pressure. Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. We had ample towels. The area is very safe and quiet. We all had a great time!
