Great store, excellent selection, wonderful staff. We got our pup a ladybug collar and a nice leash to go along with it. Recommended!

Dog treats or human cookies? Happy puppy in our house.

My favorite breakfast spot is right around the corner. I love to stop in Island Paws to spoil my pup rotten. The staff is amazingly helpful each time we stop in. Their treats and truly the most spectacular dog TREATS ever.

I was greeted by two lovely people, the owner and a new sales associate who took the time to go around and show me all the products they carried as well as ask about my Yorkies diet and health etc. They shared their personal experiences about "why" you may or may not want to feed your pet certain foods and also was happy to see the nutritional supplements with only the best ingredients for my pup available as well. 5 STARS to this store. Contrary to the other 1 star reviews, animals get and spread covid and other human pathogens, people still have not learned to be aware of their own personal hygiene, much less how dirty their pets are living on the ground 24/7 which is utter ignorance. Also if most non essential stores were closed during covid, are these really valid complaints? The store is charming, the staff are extremely knowledgeable about pet nutrition and frankly I brought my dog inside in a stroller because if pet stores, vets and kennels are loaded with pathogens so is any place people bring their pets and think they should run free and swap cooties. NO Thanks! We had a wonderful experience, my dog loves her food and fresh baked cookies (no wheat, gluten, sugar, salt options) and I will be a returning customer and ALSO get my own fresh baked "to go" items next time, which I thought was a great additional service. Ft. Myers is lucky to have such evolved and enlightened people working for the benefit of the silent, innocent and dependent animal community. BRAVO!

The only reason this place got three stars for me is because of this one worker specifically she's…read morealways just rude not polite in any way. She's a shorter older woman with short brown hair every single time I happen to need her help. She will literally ignore me. On two separate occasions I've needed crickets. She's walked over in my direction so I waved like a friendly hello and she literally turned around and walked the other way into a back room or something so i sat for another 10 min cause maybe she got called to do something I'm not one to question and after those 10 min I go to the register and ask for help. The lady that saw me and turned around literally came out of the back room she went into it. And not a hello how are you sorry about the wait it was "how many" with the most attitude I've ever heard. Than the second time she was cleaning the tanks right behind where the crickets are at. And I yet again probably stood there for 10-15 min while she's just cleaning these tanks. She made direct eye contact with me maybe 2-3 times. So I finally got annoyed waiting for this girl to have some sort of customer service and ask me if I need help. So I go "excuse me can I please get some help with crickets" and she literally says "well maybe if you let me know that's what you needed than yea I can't know if you don't tell me" and I literally told her "I thought you would've had enough customers service training to see someone standing here for 10 min in the exact same spot to know they need help and you'd come ask" She got off her ladder came over and rudly chuckled under her breath and went "how many" didn't ask if I wanted cardboard or calcium nothing. If I see this lady by the crickets I literally leave cause I refuse to speak to her now. You guys need to teach her some customer service. Or fire her cause clearly she hates her job.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a French Bulldog from Petland Fort Myers…read more When I bought my puppy, I trusted that a store selling such expensive dogs would stand behind the health guarantees they advertise. At around one year old, my dog developed a serious eye condition and was diagnosed by a veterinary ophthalmologist with a cataract caused by a genetic issue and associated inflammation. This is not a minor problem -- it is a painful condition that can lead to permanent blindness and requires specialized treatment and potentially surgery costing thousands of dollars. I contacted Petland expecting them to honor their health guarantee for congenital or hereditary conditions. Instead, they dismissed the diagnosis and refused to provide meaningful assistance. Despite documentation from a specialist, the store would not take responsibility and repeatedly avoided helping resolve the situation. Buying a puppy should not turn into a financial and emotional burden due to genetic disease, especially when the business promotes screened and healthy animals. I feel completely misled and unsupported after the sale. If you are considering purchasing a dog here, be aware that once you leave the store, you may be on your own if a hereditary medical problem appears. I would strongly encourage potential buyers to carefully review the guarantees and understand that they may not be honored when it matters most.
