We've been 4 times, all dining in except today we got the Pastrami Sandwich to go to see what the hype was all about since they've been promoting since NYC Subs recently opened a few doors down with a claim to have New York Style pastrami. We tried to go here 1st but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays This is one of those, should have asked for the price first moments. But it's just a sandwich right, so we didn't. Well when they brought our to go order and we realized it the sandwich was $22.00 was certainly a bit surprised. And they just assumed we would pay with a card; which we didn't do tacked on a 3% service fee, ok. We still were hopeful that it would still be worth it but when we got home we were not impressed by the amount of pastrami at all. The FLAVOR was very good but scores low on the value category. You would pay the same price at the legendary Katz Deli in NYC, BUT the difference is Katz literally loads nearly a pound of pastrami on each sandwich. But the major complaint is the service. The wait staff are a bit impatient and always have this I haven't had a cigarette in an hour so can you hurry up expression. As well a pushy. Totally get up selling as I got a Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management, but it's done in a far less polished manner. But the food flavor has always been excellent, just a bit pricey, even in this higher inflation time. read more

Maybe I'm just too old to eat like I did when I was younger. We ordered the "award winning burger" and the BBQ pork sandwich and we shared them. Both were well prepared, they tasted great and came with fries. The order came out fast and the service was very friendly and attentive. But I couldn't stop burping grease for the rest of the night and it was almost a Tums emergency. One last comment...the fries are seasoned and rather salty for my taste. As a result of that post meal experience, we probably wouldn't go back. Having said all that, if you still have a cast iron stomach, please feel free to try this restaurant. read more

AC was just right. i chose their burger with fries;it was delicious, nice thick (just right thick) burger kinda like a smash burger, sauce, house made pickles, bacon/onion jam on side vs on it. perfectly made, juicy sauce and pickles were great, the bacon onion jam was really good too, brioche bun I can see why it's a "best burger"; fries good, crisp but nothing special. also tried fried green tomatoes which were delish. husb had tuna poke bowl, he enjoyed altho i think it had wayyy to much rice vs other things for $24. key lime pie dessert not a fav. Their award winning burger ($18) was pretty darn great. My friend had the brisket sandwich and it was piled high with brisket. Overall it was really good, and I'm only taking away a star because the prices seem on the high side. Service was pretty quick and quite friendly. The place was pretty empty at dinner time on a weekday which is a little surprising since the food is really quite good. The music was too loud for me but they were happy to turn it down when I requested it. I think we'll be back! read more

Came for dinner as this is rated very high in the community. Cute place with an indoor tiki hut as the bar. Surf boards around the room and a tv for sports fans. Waitress was awesome! Her name is Michelle and really wants everybody to be happy. Husband had the Brisket plate in which he chose fries and beans as his side. They serve 6oz of Brisket. I had the basket of fried oysters. I had a side salad and Cole slaw. The salad was quite good and the coleslaw was Great! My son had the burger, fries what was your other part with the two sides fries and and Mac and cheese. Went back to Island Pig and Fish tonight. I really like IP&F but I'd have to say I was pretty disappointed tonight. Nonetheless, I still like the place, I like the vibe, the Jimmy Buffet music , the easy parking, and the interesting menu. I started with a Corona NAB, served ice cold and with a wedge of lime. Off to a good start. We shared the Fried Green Tomatoes. I'd say they were good. The breading was a bit too spicy for my wife, there was way too much dill as a garnish and I thought the tomatoes were either cut too thick or were undercooked. They were hard to cut through. The sauce however was very very good. We wife had the fried shrimp with Mac and cheese. The shrimp were very tasty and perfectly cooked. The Mac and cheese was very tasty, although I prefer a thicker Béchamel. I had a half rack of ribs, served with Cole slaw, Texas toast and Mac and cheese. In the past, I've had the burger and the blackened shrimp salad on several occasions. All good. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my dinner tonight. It's probably just my personal preference, but I found the ribs mushy, fatty and greasy. I asked the waitress what kind of ribs they serve and I was told baby backs. I don't think these were baby backs, but I could be wrong. The sides were all pretty good. The Texas toast was good, I like their take on slaw (although too much dill for my wife's palate). The Mac and cheese was good, but I prefer a thicker sauce. The service is friendly and efficient, but the waitresses have this frantic energy that just doesn't belong with the restaurant's easy breezy beach vibe. I just hate spending $85 on dinner and leaving disappointed, but this seems to be happening more and more frequently. I still like Island Pig and Fish, would still recommend it to others, but I'm interested in what other people think about their ribs and other bbq offerings. read more

The outside of the restaurant touts having some of the best BBQ in the area and an award winning burger. While, some of my crew had that, and enjoyed it, some of the other food just doesn't hit the mark. A dry rice bowl and some ok fish will definitely not be ordered again. Mostly really good! Having Island P&F bookmarked for a while it finally worked out and wife and I went for lunch. Not on the water but if you see on the right table you can see the water which is nice. No real 'atmosphere', just an open restaurant. Table service. The food was awesome, but just some nit picky things. Mostly around fees. 1) Lot of the meals come w fries and an ice tea. We would have like to substitute the fries and not even an option for upcharge for a diff side, they would 'charge for a full side'. Don't understand this at all. fries are listed as an side along w 5 others. Ok maybe the $5 side of fries is larger, but ok, then just upcharge me a few bucks then just saying no. 2) Waitress asked if credit card or cash....we just assumed this was a fee added, so we paid cash...luckily we had......one of the few places i've paid cash for a meal in many many years. Rather see the price increased a few, and then offer a cash discount. Better perception. My sandwich came out wrong. I think it was how the waitress perceived my order (came out w a fried dish and i don't really eat fried sandwiches so would not have ordered one). Decided to go back for another visit. That was a waste of a hour drive each way. The food has gone downhill dramatically since our last visit. Ordered the brisket plate again as the first time it was amazing. This time I got served cold dry and tough brisket, rancid slaw, a small bit of fries and a burnt slice of white bread they tried to pass off as Texas Toast. As it's lunch hour, we sat inside. There's a neat board with some wisecracks on it. The waitress is friendly and helpful. She suggested the Brisket sandwich as it's not available always. Turn out to be an excellent choice. It's dripping in sauce and fat...juicy to the bite. The Fried Green Tomatoes are burning hot to the bite. Please be very careful for you will burn your tongue! The Chicken Wings has a Cajun flavor which I really didn't care for. We have the Fried Seafood Platter, with oysters, shrimp, fish and a load of fries. It can easily be shared between 3 to 4 persons. We tried the bbq pork, fried okra and Mahi fish sandwich. The pork was bland, fatty, too much sauce and definitely not pulled pork I'm use to in Texas and Tennessee pulled pork BBQ. Texas Toast was dry and hard. Wife said the Blackened fish was good. We also had the fried okra which was good. Asked waiter for ranch since it was supposed to come with the okra. This restaurant been open for just one month. Kind of a super casual pan-southern restaurant with BBQ and Louisiana/Cajun and aspects of Georgia and Carolina cuisine. Delicious fried green tomato with shrimp remoulade. We thought all the sides were excellent, some of the best potato salad ever. Crawfish, crab, and mushroom etouffee was too tomatoey and sweet. The shrimp and grits is a very spicy version, with a smoky and piquant harissa sauce -- I liked it; Rachel loved the grits part but not the sauce. You can also order those cheese grits by themselves. Lori's pulled pork was the best of the bbq meats -- we liked the flavor of the ribs, and the pork belly burned ends but not the texture -- ribs were falling apart (a big no-no in KCBS), and the burned ends were dry. They're definitely smoking on-site, though. As a -BBQ- place, not great, but the southern food options are excellent and I would want to try the other non-BBQ things on the menu. They had various things such as key west shrimps and fried seafood plates that I'd want to try on another visit. Until I try those other things, though, strictly on the BBQ I have to rate it a 3. read more

We read the reviews and thought we would try this place--definitely NOT a fan. I am a brisket snop, and their brisket is NOT good! I make way better brisket than them! The brisket was dry and flavorless. For my husband's order, they forgot the garlic toast. Plus, on top of that, the door we had to sit by kept slamming shut the whole time we were trying to talk- the door slammed about 20+ times with people walking in and out. Drove 30 minutes to try this place out. Hubby and I sat down and watched everyone else who sat down after us get served before us. We waited a while but in the end left with nothing no one ever came over to take our order. We decided to head over to 12A Buoy where service and food is always consistent and friendly. Update: 12A was closed this day unfortunately, but apparently you did see us on your cameras waiting patiently. Otherwise how would you know what day we came in lol. As we continue to try new places in our new area, we found ourselves in Ft Pierce and found IP&F on Yelp. Not on the water, but if you don't have a huge vehicle parked in front of your table, you do get a peek a boo view of water across the road. Their outdoor dining is nice & colorful. Key West/ Caribbean look. Service was great from start to finish. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were very good. Crisp, not greasy or soggy. I ordered the Pork Belly Burnt Ends plate and hubby got the burger. The burnt ends were not my cup of tea, so as is the norm, my husband offered to switch. He loves me! The burger was absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked and presented. All the flavors worked well together and especially liked that touch of sweetness. Their Mac & cheese is really good as well. For dessert we shared the Key Lime Trifle. It was a nice, light, and not overly sweet ending to our meal. We have added IP&F to our list of places to return to. read more

I posted a review of island, pig and fish complaining about the fact that my fish sandwich cost $24 and the response from the owner was hog snapper is expensive. It is not so expensive that a tiny bit of fish and a sandwich should cost a customer $24. This is a sandwich for heaven sakes.
