First time there. Casual, waterside restaurant. Very welcoming with great food. We will definitely return.

We saw a lot of great reviews for Sauder's Landing. First downside is you are required to hand over your driver's license to a security guard to enter the island. He had it for a while, God only knows what data base I'm now part of, but hey, great reviews, let's go. The guard gave my license back as well as a parking permit. Asked about the restaurant, he said drive to the stop sign and turn left. There's a row of shops and a Sauders sign. Did get a tiny bit confusing...none of the storefronts was Sauders. There was a dingy looking alley opening...found them. Walking down this dingy alley (there were three old window a/c units running up high, I mean old, tired, dirty and all three are dripping water into buckets below them on the concrete). We get to a tired residential screen door and that is the entrance. We were greeted right away. Said two for dinner. The hostess asked if we had reservations...we said no. We asked to sit inside. This is not the restaurants fault, but the marina is under construction, there are no docks or boats outside the windows, just rebar and dirt, however the windows and screens were dirty. There are dive bars and old restaurants with charm, Sauders is neither. Inside it just looks very tired and extremely dated You know how Restaurant Impossible or Bar Rescue showes usually start, with John Tapper and Robert Irving having a lot to say. They would have a lot to say at Sauder's. Carolyn, our server, lived up to the reviews that mention her. She was prompt, knew all the specials and did a good job throughout our meal. We ordered some Calemari. The batter was falling off, so if you tried to pick up a piece, you basically had a piece of squid. The marinara sauce was hot and had a good flavor. We had the shrimp linguine Alfredo. There were plenty of shrimp. Tha pasta was spaghetti, not linguine, but cooked properly. Could have had a little more sauce but tasted OK. The meal came with a salad. Everything was fresh, cold and crisp. Carolyn informed us the thousand island was made at the restaurant and it was OK. Summary...the food was ok, the dining room was tired, oh yeah, the rest rooms were behind doors rusting under their paint in that dingy alley and my wife said the one she went into was not nice. I honestly don't know how you could give this a 4 or 5 rating. If I knew what we were going to experience, I'd never give my driver's license to that guard and we would find another of the many seafood places in town. Sorry Sauder's, you need to make an investment in your business. read more

Five Stars, but a mixed review. Hard to find, as you see the sign, it should say to head down the corridor towards the water. The restaurant is smaller but is exactly as I want my Florida seafood restaurant to look like. You're able to eat on a covered deck or an uncovered deck as well, right on the water. Service is impeccable. Fast, friendly, and everyone checks on you making you feel like you are a valued customer. Food... The creativity is great. The flavors are excellent. The value is my only complaint. The drinks are expensive... $4 for iced tea is a turn off for me personally. I think the single crab cake was $18 and heavily drizzled in a mayonnaise sauce. Ugh! I was hoping for possibly 2 for that much. The calamari was a good size and delicious. The coconut shrimp was pretty good and the onion rings were good as well. I had a special with sea scallops and was surprised to only get 4 scallops for the price of a pound of sea scallops. Disappointing. The cornbread peach stuffing was ok, but not as good as I hoped. Overall I liked the place, the people and the food, but wasn't happy about the price/quantity. read more

We enjoyed our return to Saunders Landing. Dine inside or out. Small, family restaurant. Enjoyed Fish & Chips, with house side salad. Crab Cakes. And salad with sliced chicken. Next time will substitute house-made onion rings. Would also like to try sautéed scallops. Draught brewsky is Yuengling. Warm, friendly and attentive service. Beer and Wine license. Two small gripes: only one draught brewsky is offered, and chairs in need of an upgrade/refurbishment. read more

Amazing Spot on the Water! Stopped in at Sauders Landing, and I've got to say -- what an awesome place! The view on the water is absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere couldn't be more relaxing. The staff was super friendly and helpful from start to finish, and they really made the experience feel personal. And the food? Outstanding. The fried fish was some of the best I've ever had -- crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. If you're anywhere near the water, do yourself a favor and stop by Sauders Landing. Great people, great food, and a view that can't be beat. read more

Sauder's Landing is a small restaurant on Nettle's Island. There are perhaps 8-10 tables inside and about the same outside. We made a late reservation and outside was filled so we were seated inside. That was good as it cooled off quickly as the sun set so we were glad to be inside. Sauder's Landing's menu is pretty complete while focusing on seafood. My wife ordered a wedge salad and a bowl of clam chowder. The salad was excellent and the chowder had a high clam to potato ratio (I hate it when all you get is broth and a bunch of big potato chunks and maybe a couple of clams) Chowder could be added to the our "best clam chowder list". One of the specials that night was scallops sautéed in a really good sauce served over rice. One of the side options were the home made onion rings. I'll start by saying the onion rings were outstanding. The scallops were pretty good as well but certainly not memorable due to size, being a bit chewy and price point. We will likely come back for lunch before we leave this year as the fish offerings looked quite good. read more

Realllly delicious spot tucked away in a gated community, so you probably come in based on recommendation or if you found it by online reviews, because you definitely can't just stumble upon it. Certainly delicious, we ordered so many yummy things. The following were incredible: Crab cake appetizer Caesar salad with chicken Mahi sandwich Fish tacos Fried jumbo shrimp My Mom loved the fresh squeezed lemonade, and we were OBSESSED with the Homemade Peanut Butter Pie. The coconut Bombay cake was nice but once the waitress said the peanut butter pie was an Amish recipe I said YES PLEASE. It was stunning. We would come back strictly for the peanut butter pie any day of the week. I'd give it a 3.6 . Good food (excellent crab cake - although $18 is a little pricey for one crab cake - but it was very tasty). Excellent friendly service. For ambiance, I'd give only 2 stars - not a well cared for facility. It leaves a bit to be desired on appearance and comfort ... (I.e. plastic tables and chairs). They could use a face lift for sure. read more

Outstanding! The fish tacos with mahi were awesome. Great portions, the flavors were excellent. Great balance of spice with the freshness of the lettuce and a little pineapple. Awful experience. After we found the restaurant we sat next to the ice machine outside which ran loudly the entire time. They ran out of bottles domestic beer. The food took forever and the steaks we paid premium steakhouse prices which were supposedly hand cut prime in house I wouldn't have fed to my dog. Sodas were $5 a piece and poured from an iced down pitcher and don't dare ask the waitresses a question about anything because everything is busy and they're doing their best. The best you could do is some lukewarm beers and mozzarella sticks stopping by for gas on your boat while you wait to fill up. If I could give it no stars I would. I have no idea how this place gets the ratings it does outside of this guy has a lot of friends he gets to post for him. read more

Don't be put off by the fact that this place is in a mobile home park. We almost turned around and left but decided to give it a try and we were so glad we did! This is a little gem on the water. You do have to drive through a community with a guard to get there. Don't be intimidated! Just roll down your window and let them know you're headed to the restaurant. When you park in the lot, walk through the little breezeway and you will find Saunder's! The service was excellent. The ladies were just wonderful! The food is made from scratch and fresh! So so good. I wish I'd been able to eat more! My son had prime rib, green beans and onion rings. He was stuffed with the best food he'd had in a while! I had the Ahi Tuna appetizer - yum! I also had room for the homemade peanut butter pie! The food was very good. I had the crab appetizer (one of their specialties) shrimp cocktail and the clam chowder...all very good. My friend had the 6 oz filet, their special french fries, and coleslaw, she said it all was delicious. The only downside to our visit there was the check point you go thru to enter the compound of boat docks and mobile homes....there were 3 cars waiting to get thru ahead of us. Couldn't understand why the long wait to get passed the security and gate. Once we got up there, I had to show the guard my drivers license and waited while he apparently added my info into a data base and then came out to add our license plate number. If we had known that is what it took to access the restaurant, we would have skipped it. read more

We had seats in the air conditioned area of this restaurant right on a marina, on a hot, eventually rainy day and were very comfortable. The food selections were plentiful and everyone was very happy with their selection. Wines were good. Several of us had desserts which were just delicious, very like homemade. Unfortunately they dad is not give us an bread to start off. We ordered appetizers the clam chowder soup was awarded winning item according to the menu. It had lots of flavor but needs to be a little thicker. The Crab cakes was another award winning item. It was ok. Unfortunately, The waiter forgot our salads & then served them while we were eating our dinners. It was okay and we were. told that he just started. For dinner we ordered chicken francese & linguine with clams it was good choice. Sangria was amazing. Overall, worth a trip back. Not that easy to find... Our first night down here we were looking to find a good seafood restaurant. They are located in the back of a small strip mall. It's also inside of a gated community that you need a guest pass for. That said, we made reservations that is recommended for a dinner. Our server Carolyn gave us several recommendations for dinner. Our apps were the crab cake and a small portion of their cornbread peach stuffing. They both were excellent. For entrees she had the shrimp linguine Alfredo. I chose the blackened lemon butter mahi-mahi. I should also mention that they don't have a bar inside. But they do serve wine and beer. Dessert, no chance. But I did get a piece of key lime pie to go. And yes, enjoy the waterfront view at the marina. read more

The restaurant is very hard to find location wise and ontop of that the Food quality was not to impressive and my girlfriend even found a bug in her Caesar salad. Just returned from a lunch with mom! The view of the water was beautiful. Our server was very friendly and attentive- which was appreciated. I give mixed reviews on our meals- my mom had the crab cake sandwich which she said- hit it out of the park as usual. She enjoyed her sandwich and fries were tasty! I had the special- blackened mahi-mahi Caesar salad- which was something I would not order again. When I heard that was the special, I was expecting a Caesar salad with a nice piece of mahi on top, instead, got cut up pieces of mahi that I initially thought were the croutons. I had a hard time identifying which was the croutons- which was the fish before I stuck my fork in it. Also thinking hard to describe the texture of the fish with such small chunks. My thoughts- cannot think of a reason why a really nice piece of fish would be served this way. For almost $19 - I vote not worth it. read more

Waterfront property with sail boats docked outside. So impressive. Service: Servers from all the tables sounded rough. It was hard listening to them interact with other customers. Big improvements in customer service would be nice here. A calmer atmosphere is what people want to feel for dinnertime to unwind and relax over great food. Food: Crab Cakes were beyond delicious. Stuffed with pure lump crab and the most tastiest homemade sauce. We could eat that daily. Highlight of our night!! Mahi Mahi sandwich was impressive. Perfectly blackened, fresh, and delicious. Fried Coconut Shrimp had a fantastic sauce drizzled over top. Overall: The best thing was the Crabcakes. The main star. The ambiance and views were out of this world. This place is well known for a reason--it's fantastic. I ordered the Parmesan chicken and was blown away--potentially the best chicken I've had in a restaurant. My friends were all pleased with their food, but mine definitely stole the show. Also ordered the dessert, peanut pie and key lime pie, both great. Such friendly and caring wait staff. Be prepared to wait a bit even if you do have a reservation, and bring a jacket if you'll be sitting outside. We came on a particularly windy day and got a bit chilly. Although having to wait a bit, the staff were very thankful for our patience and gave us a free dessert. Would definitely come back. Love the atmosphere, very secure when getting to the restaurant has to pass a guard for its within a residential location, he was very friendly and helpful in getting us to the restaurant. As soon as we step in they sat us down,outside location called the bungalow. As soon as we where down our waitress, Laura as for our drinks and let us know of the meal specials I enjoy the surf and turf as my wife had the scallops. As we where eating out meal, I enjoy the sound of nature I said, began to thunder no rain so it made it more exciting as we ate our dinner. after the dinner, we ordered the custard cake with coconut.to go I have to say the only down fall was the woman bathroom not work but they let the woman use the man bathroom and were very apologetic for the situation.
