Food was great. Props to the cooks in the back for getting our party of 5 order right. Service was kind however VERY slow. When entering they had a few groups ahead of us, I one greeted us but made eye contact so we waited patiently. A family came in after us and walked to the waiter and asked for a table... I immediately spoke up because RUDE. They sat us and then that other party. So all good, but then they went and took their drink order before us. The menu is highly miss leading from the yelp post, especially for the menu pricing. Online price is $10 for my French toast of 3 slices but current menu has 4 slices for 12. Also traditional Texas toast for French toast is nice and thick, these slices are paper thin. And the overall batter lacks flavor. The side ham for $4.50 is not worth it as the ham is paper thin and maybe 2.5-3 ounces. Whereas off island the ham would be 1-3-1/2 inch thick and 5-6 ounces. Ham should also be juicy, but B.C. this is so thin it's almost like Jerky would be, and very salty. When you go into a cafe that says Organic Orange Juice you are thinking fresh squeezed, this is obviously not the case here, definitely tastes no different than the Minute Maid I get for home. The coffee is not very strong either tastes a little watered down and a slight bit chemically from maybe them not cleaning the machine very well. Service is very lacking as well. Other than taking my order the server never came to my table again not even to see if I needed a coffee refill Would not recommend this as a place to stop when visiting Eastsound. read more

Breakfast - Local joint with VERY FRIENDLY staff!! The place wasn't anything fancy, but there were many art pieces on the walls. We only had to wait a few minutes before we were seated and the service was quick. We had good orange and cranberry juice. The breakfast burritos were BIG and filled to the brim. I had l pico, and avocado to my ham burrito and my wife added the same plus sour cream. It was reasonably priced and delicious! We were only able to eat half of our burritos which the waitstaff could tell, so they brought us a few pieces of follow with a chuckle to take home the leftovers. read more

Food was mediocre at best. If it were just that I would not give a poor review. But..... we sat outside on the patio at their tables and because of that we weren't allowed to have metal utensils! We got a plastic fork and no knife. When we asked for one we literally got an eye roll and two knives. No thank you. No sorry. Nothing but rudeness. Sorry we needed to cut our food! Great breakfast place! Our resort recommended the Island Skillet. We were not disappointed. This little place had about 10 tables and wasn't very big. We only waited about 6 minutes and I could tell the staff was used to serving to a crowd. They were friendly, efficient, and on top of it. We ordered our food and were served our delicious breakfast within 15 minutes. (Maybe even a little quicker). The food was yummy. The hash browns were cooked to perfection and my eggs "over medium" really were over medium!! As people came in and out I could see the smiles of the locals and tourists who were also enjoying their first meal of the day. Yup! This one's a keeper! read more

My experience seems to be consistent with a few others here. The owner/manager working here just puts off a terrible vibe, not befitting of someone who cares about providing decent service. My wife (who's not white) thought racism, and after seeing someone else's review here that might be right. Our starving family sat there for 40 minutes waiting for our food after sitting down and ordering it from the manager/owner. We even ordered coffee and that never came - I walked up to him twice and he never brought it, I asked a different waitress and she finally did. Uncomfortable and annoying. The whole 40 mins we were being ignored - and we saw people who came in after us getting their food before us. I just got up and left with them- incredibly disappointing. The owner had a feeling of entitlement because he was on an island. We went to 3 other restaurant on Orcas Island and they were all fantastic. read more

The menu is small, but very doable for this place.. The price is right for breakfast, and this place gets busy, and I mean, people are out the door. My suggestion is come early..... My family of 7 are here on the island to visit for 7 days. As soon as we stepped inside the owner gave us the nastiest look as if we didn't belong there in that restaurant. The sign up front says to "please be waited to be seated" and so we stood at the entrance but not in the way of anyone. The worker looked up and asked "what can I do for you?". Following what the sign says, we say, "well we're waiting to be seated like the sign says". The worker then says, "WELL. What can I do for you??" . We took that as he was truly upset that there were black folks in that diner and the aura was not welcoming at all. We stated we'd like to look at menus and was told why didn't we know what we wanted to eat already. Everyone there gave us the nastiest looks and even the workers stopped to do what they were doing to look at us with so much hate! We then decided to just leave. Someone in uniform yelled, "GREAT! YOU'VE WASTED OUR TIME! DON'T COME BACK AGAIN!". Being a family who has worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade, we knew that was not the proper greeting for ANY customer. I came here after doing some hiking in Moran state park since I was staying nearby in the West Beach Resort campground. I ordered the eggs benedict with extra bacon and some grape fruit juice. The benedict was honestly perfect and so were the hash browns. Hollandaise sauce tasted good and was warm, the english muffin was fresh and nicely toasted, crispy bacon, smokey ham and of course perfectly poached runny eggs. Usually the hash browns from most places are overcooked and dry, but they nailed it here with crispy outer crust and moist fluffy potato inside. Probably best I've had and I've gone to many fancy/expensive breakfast/brunch places in hotels like the Fairmont or celebrity chef restaurants like Lola in Seattle. This and the Lopez ice cream were the highlights to my Orcas Island visit. read more

We came here on a Saturday morning and the wait was 30 minutes. Let me tell you....it was well worth it.... The menu is pretty expansive with breakfast and lunch items (they close at 2pm). I settled on the breakfast burrito with bacon and I knew I made the right decision when almost everyone at the table next time me ordered the same thing. My burrito arrived and it was bigger than my arm. Stuffed full of potatoes, bacon, eggs and gooey cheese. It was so big and only $11. On top of that we ordered mimosas and they were like $6 a pop.
