I really enjoyed Olga Rising so much that I went two mornings in a row. The wait was quite long on Saturday, but much more reasonable on Sunday, when there were more employees behind the counter. I ordered the Marionberry Matcha Latte - this was very good. It was on the sweeter side, since it is presweetened. I ordered a regular Matcha Latte the next day, and was able to adjust the sweetness. The Doe Bay Biscuit was excellent. I got it without cheese and it still held up great. They also have a ton of pastries to pick from. I got the Black Tahini Sesame Tea Cake. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday morning. A line was out the door, but it moved quickly. They had an assortment of pastries in the case, as well as an extensive drink menu. Exit and there is plenty of covered and uncovered outdoor seating while you wait for your order, which is called out at the counter window. We each got a coffee, and then split an Olga Rising breakfast biscuit sandwich, which was AMAZING. Soft and tender biscuit, perfect amounts of toppings, sweetness from the jam...just fantastic. I was so happy with this cafe! The staff was incredibly nice and the food amazing. I wasn't sure how I would feel with jam on a savory breakfast sandwich (The Olga Rising), but I am a changed woman. It was divine. Everything about the sandwich was fantastic: the biscuit was perfect, the eggs cooked well, and the Jam was just sensational as well, no notes. It was also a huge sandwich. This was on the highly recommended Things To Do list, so we made it our mission to have breakfast there and I'm glad I did. Biscuits are worth the wait in line. Seriously. And it's filling too! The quirky little shop offers trinkets and other gifts as well. Coffee and tea selection is great. Everything is in to go bags and cups but although I first felt like the experience could be better with real plates and silverware, I quickly realized that due to the traffic this place gets, it's better to have it all disposable to the line can keep moving and therefore freeing up tables to eat. THE BEST breakfast biscuit sandwich I have ever had!!! Charming location, though only outdoor seating. You can order on-line, but we ordered at the counter, and our order was ready in less than 5 minutes. They weren't crowded the morning we went. I had The Classic and my wife had The Olga Rising. Both were amazing. My wife actually groaned with pleasure on her first bite! Biscuit is crispy yet fluffy, and holds up to the egg and sausage, plus whatever sauce you opt for. Coffee was very solid. We also ordered a Tuna Sandwich to go, which was also wonderful on our whale watching cruise. Sorry to say, but this place beats the Brown Bear Bakery up, down and sideways, and my only knock is they aren't open except Wednesday - Saturday. Wishing we could grab another sandwich on our way out of town this Sunday, but alas, they are closed. Our loss. read more

This place hit the spot! I had the Italian and my partner had the Tuna sandwich. The flavor was good and each sandwich came with a small bag of chips. The bread tasted fresh and it was a large roll! My only wish was that there was more meat in my sandwich. My partner enjoyed her sandwich as well, but wished there was an option to get it toasted. This was our first stop on Eastsound. It was a great welcome. I got a chai latte (delicious!) and breakfast sandwich. They had a vegetarian sausage patty and it was such a nice touch. I love when places offer that option. They had delicious looking pastries but we didn't get any this round. They have some cute items for sale around the shop (great ideas for gifts). I have returned repeatedly for their cheese sandwich, and also their wonderful baked goods, if the weather is cooperating when I am in town. Super cute spot in the center of Eastsound! Stopped by because of the line out front and wow did it deserve the popularity!! They were out of the pastry I was most interested in, so I grabbed a lemon scone and I swear it was the best lemon scone I've ever had!! They also allow substitutions in all of their drinks and food options to accommodate different dietary restrictions. I asked for a sandwich to have veggie sausage instead of meat and they accidentally sent it out with meat, but quickly made me a new sandwich when I asked about it. The staff were so friendly in general! Their drink specials are great with a highlight on local flavors (big time recommend the marion berry series). There's a small outdoors seating spot with canopy cover and free water! It's also a great location where you can easily walk to the beach and around the town area. read more

Food- Unfortunately, the yummy looking garden frittata sandwich with roasted veggies had recently been combined with ham ....stirred in ahead of time, so they couldn't serve if sans pork. So, I had the turkey sandwich and my husband had the salmon sandwich. The Turkish buns were soft and tasty. Sadly, I didn't like the proportions, with 75% lettuce and just a bit of deli meat and one slice of cheese. The salmon sandwich seemed like canned salmon mixed with a lot of mayo and some dill. Again, the proportions were off and it seemed like mostly bread. The flavors were good, though. The shining star was the Nanaimo bar, which was spot on. The crust was tender with deliciously complex flavors, the cream layer a dream, and the chocolate on top delicious. The piece was expensive ($8) but very large. We visited this place two afternoons in a row after hiking and after lunches, to grab a little extra for the ferry back to Lopez. The coffee drinks were fantastic, and in compostable cups. The two baked goods we tried were among the best we've ever had: an almond cookie with raspberry jam in the middle of it, and a tea cake loaf thing. Neither of those are items I typically would have ordered, but would certainly jump at again given the chance. Really, really delectable. Also, they delivered fine service, music, and no waiting. The tomato & greens were fresh, as was the bun, which was delicious. The carrot cupcake is almost too beautiful to eat. But we will, despite the heavy frosting. I have only left one other Yelp review in my life but this place was so amazing that I needed to tell everyone! I got the Olga Rising breakfast sandwich. The biscuit was perfect, the cheese was like broiled onto the bottom biscuit so it had wonderful crispy edges, and the jam on it was SUCH a great balance of sweet and savory. This might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I also got a cinnamon roll because I have zero self control. At first glance I thought it looked mediocre and probably not enough frosting. But I took it out of its little paper cup and it was like Cinnabon type cinnamon glaze on the bottom! So good! And there was actually more than enough cream cheese frosting. And the frosting was perfect too! Slightly tart and sweet, not super buttery. Also may have been the best cinnamon roll I've ever had! I was just blown away by accidentally having the best breakfast I've had in as long as I can remember. I'm so sad that I leave today and won't be able to eat here again. read more

We were camping in another part of the island and on the second-to-last day I decided to treat my family to Olga's biscuit breakfast sandwiches. Even factoring in we'd been eating pretty raw for a few days, these tasted rich, buttery and amazing. The shop is frequented by locals as well as off-islanders, so it was pretty busy but the ordered was filled in less than ten minutes. I love the decor, which is a throwback to when I was a kid on Orcas: lots of sensible wood, beachy stained glass, without the shabby chiq pretentiousness or rusty junkyard aesthetic of other shops in Eastsound. Theres an outdoor fining area and the help was pleasant and efficient. read more
