My husband and I came to the Cascade Bay Grill on our honeymoon for lunch. This restaurant is located on the property of the Rosario Resort right next to the water. We had nice outdoor seating and our server was very quick. We both ordered the crab cake sandwiches with a side of fries and a glass of Chardonnay and they were all amazing. Food came out quickly and everything was fantastic. They are taking all the normal covid precautions here. Masks worn by all the staff and the checkout process was contactless as I was able to pay through their website. We loved eating here so much that we ended up getting reservations for the other restaurant on property, The Mansion, for dinner on the same day.

We stopped here to get a few supplies/food when we stayed at the marina. The Cascade Bay Grill & Store had few supplies if looking for supplies while boating, it felt more geared towards the grill. They have tasty fish and chips if you are in the mood to eat out. The view out over the marina is beautiful and the grill is right by the rocks on the edge of the water, making it a fun place to eat and watch wildlife.

The food and the staff was amazing. I was a bit confused when I called to make a reservation and they said they were booked so we drove down just to see the view and we learned that this restaurant has a different extension then the one attached to this page. Amazing views. Watch out for the jelly fish if you go down to the docks.

Absolutely shocked and delighted. After reading the yelp reviews and ratings for the two restaurants on the resort, we defeatedly headed to the grill, because if we were gonna have a marginal meal - at least we wouldn't spend too much money on it. Turns out, we had some of the best fresh seafood ever. The cod in the fish and chips came crispy-flaky-fresh and utterly delicious... and the breading was also perfect - not too thick or greasy. We started our meal with a half dozen local oysters. When they say local, then mean just down the street local. If you've ever harvested your own oysters and eaten them on the beach - that is exactly how these tasted. They were small and delicious. I couldn't believe that I was tasting oysters at a restaurant like this. My husband order the pan fried King Salmon. Needless to say, it was delicious. Fresh, perfectly cooked, large serving for $24. This dish is definitely a hard recommend - although don't get the potato wedges, they were boring and undercooked - the fries that come with the fish and chips are way tastier.

Seafood chowder was decent, full of salmon which was good. The burger was good as were the fish tacos. If you are in the area worth a stop.

We're happy we dined here while we staying on Orcas Island! This is truly a watering hole. The restaurant gets busy with hungry visiting and local diners. They're family friendly and dog friendly! There's a couple spots on their property--one being their fish market and deli the other being the place to order food! Seating is first come first serve at their communal tables and all outdoors. The workers work hard and do their best juggling lots of hungry customers. Everyone who helped us was kind and sweet! They have a variety of foods to please all tastebuds. Along with seafood they have BBQ, kid friendly options, and specials. For dinner I had the Spicy Halibut Sandwich but grilled instead of fried. The fish was delicious and everything was fresh and filling. My family enjoyed their chowder and oysters. We also shared a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie which was a slice of heaven--sweet, tangy, and divine! I can see why this is a popular place! If you find yourself on Orcas Island, Buck Bay Shellfish Farm is a must visit! Great seafood and a great ambiance. They have their own gravel lot you can park at and it's easy to find off EJ Young Road since it's a popular spot!

The massive wooden furniture is impressive and surprisingly comfortable. This place has been loving restored and cared for. It was an absolute pleasure to be here and to sit on the veranda. The food was very average, although the Mansion Burger sounded amazing--maybe we just ordered wrong. The scallop/ halibut cake stole the show. I should have ordered two of those, along with the extraordinary Cole slaw ( best ever Coke slaw, imho). Sadly, we didn't stop at the scallibut cake, and the rest was disappointing; wedge salad, drowning in a watery blue cheese dressing, and overcooked lobster ravioli, served with four beautifully prepared scallops. I would return, but I'd order differently--just appetizers and skipping everything else. Drinks and scallibut cakes would make for a 4-5 star meal. The service, by the way, was just okay. She hadn't tried much of the menu, so she wasn't able to describe the dishes very well. She was great about checking on us and warning that the kitchen was slow (it was slow, but we loved taking our time and watching the sun set over the bay). Nothing was awful--what we ordered averaged out to be just ok.

We had reservations and got a great table at the window, looking out over the water. Problem was, the windows were filthy with sea salt grime which really obscured the view. If waterside dining is your big appeal, clean the windows! Waiter arrived with menus but not a word. Not to be deterred, I asked him how he was doing. "Oh, I'm really tired after a long weekend." and he shuffled off without a smile. Throughout the dinner, I tried to engage with him, and it turns out he is the Front Manager for the resort, and while he brightened up a little when we asked about him, he didn't show any attention or interest in us, which is just careless service. Food was mixed. We had steamed clams & an order of ciabatta for starters. Clams were OK, but the broth lacked any distinctive flavor. It could have been broth out of a can. Bread was just bread, nothing special. We shared the Bucatini with prosciutto in cream sauce for our main, and it was wonderful. But at $38 for a plate of pasta, it better be. Which speaks to the greater menu, where most the mains are from $40-$50. They can charge that because there are no other options in Doe Bay, but this food is not worth that price. Finally, their wine selection is embarrassingly small. 4 whites and 4 reds, no Chardonnay and no Cab. Really disappointing. Considering all the other rave reviews, if you are already in Doe Bay, and since there are no other options, you'll get a decent meal here, but I wouldn't drive to the far end of the island to pay these prices for a limited menu with tired, mediocre service.

Menu is somewhat limited to 5 or 6 starters, and only 3 pizzas for mains. Our food was OK, but it just tried too hard to be different. When half the descriptions on a menu item need either a thesaurus or an explanation from the waiter, the chef is just trying too hard. We had the hay smoked tuna, which came wrapped in an oversized lettuce leaf, and a two line description. It was good, but nothing like I expected from the waiter's description. It was raw, which I love, but not as described on the menu. Then we had a salad with "garlic toast" which was nothing more than toasted bread crumbs browned just this side of being burnt. The salad wasn't tossed, so it was only after a few bites that we found the dressing drizzled on the bottom of the plate, hidden beneath the greens. The burnt crumbs overwhelmed the little dressing we could dig up, so the salad was not good. Finally, we also had the Poh Tah Toh Pizza, which was both dry and burnt. Wood fired pizza with a little charring is OK, but our crust was fully burnt about 2 inches in from the edge. I didn't care for the honey on my pizza, though my wife liked this twist. Wine by the glass is limited, but they do have an extensive bottle list, but only of foreign wine. We had a nice Chianti blend, but the dregs had a chunky sediment that ruined that last sip. Again, this may be the best food on the island, but the menu just missed the mark for this foodie.

Such a stunning setting, wow!…read more I've had the pleasure of visiting Orcas at least once a year since I was a little kid, and finally had the chance to stay at Rosario Resort. While the rooms aren't modern, the views from the Harborside buildings are fabulous. What a lovely spot to sit out on the deck and have a peaceful breakfast. I enjoy walking around the property, and hope to visit someday during the summer to take advantage of the waterside adult swimming pool--one of the best PNW pool views I've seen. (There is a kid-friendly outdoor pool located at the center of the property, and an indoor salt water pool located adjacent to the spa that's open year-round.) The charming mansion is fun to explore, and the restaurant offers tasty menus items (with vegetarian and vegan options, hooray). Although it's fun to stay in different vacation rentals across the island, I'd be happy to come back to Rosario in the future. Honestly this stuff wouldn't really bother me that much had the price just been wayyyy lower. Hiltons offer way nicer rooms for half the price with real people there to help.
