Jerk chicken plate and jerk rib plate

This was our first time here and the food was unbelievable. I thought I'd never find good jerk in OC but this place was 10/10. The portions are huge and the sides were just as delicious as the mains. We had the jerk ribs, jerk chicken, and beef patties. The service was amazing and we can't wait to come back. We drove 40 minutes to try it and we will be back for more!

Update: THE Hot Honey chicken 10/10. I would never order this because I don't typically like spicy... the spice is not too much, it adds to the flavor... their food is so great. Amazing flavors. If you've never had Oxtail, this is the place to try it. It's exceptionally delicious. My mouth is watering just writing this. The Max and Cheese was way better than most, not overly sharp on the cheese, the texture was spot on as well down to the perfect aldente of the pasta, very hard to accomplish... Claudia and Robert are both very kind, and it's home cooking with love! It has that flavor and care that just isn't what you get at most restaurants you go out to. Great service, it's a cloud kitchen so it's not a sit down place but the takeout is phenomenal.

To my disappointment, this ghost kitchen is not serving Jamaican food anymore. I didn't know it was a ghost kitchen

insane hidden gem their oxtail stew, jerk chicken, jerk rib, beef pie w cheese, rice, mac salad, cassava all amazing. my favorite has to be the oxtail, really tender and well cooked. also, the rice is super flavorful and mac salad is just right for my taste (a little bit of spicy) definitely a bit pricey for the portion of the meat but would come back regardless. just note service takes a bit long but worth the wait!

Very tasty rice! Just a bit too much!

Everything is flavorful and satisfying, and I usually order it to go. The only downside is the price. It's always been on the expensive side, but seeing one oxtail plate go up to $31 (+tax) makes it hard to justify coming here as often as I used to. The quality is still there, but the higher price means it'll probably be more of once a year meal. One thing to be aware of is that there's a surcharge even when paying with a debit card. Legally you're not supposed to add a charge when using debit card but I paid it anyways. It was an unexpected charge that other customers may want to know about. Ambience was okay. Service was nice. Overall, the food is delicious and worth trying, but between the rising prices and the added card surcharge, I'll likely be visiting once in a blue moon.

After craving Jamaican food for what feels like forever, I finally decided to search Yelp on my way…read morehome from working in LA and came across The Taste of the Caribbean in Long Beach - and wow, this hit the spot in a way I've been missing for too long. For context, I've always loved Jamaican food and even have family who make incredible, authentic dishes, but I haven't had anything close to that in a year. So my expectations? High. My craving? Even higher. I ordered the jerk chicken dinner with peas & rice and cabbage medley, and some plantains - to go. First off, the service was amazing. The woman who helped me was genuinely warm and welcoming, and you can tell she cares about what she's serving. When I ordered, she asked if I wanted the jerk sauce on the side and made sure I was okay with the spice level when I said no. That attention to detail matters. The food came out quickly (it was mid-afternoon and not busy), and everything stayed warm all the way home--which is always a win for takeout. Now let's talk about the food: The portion was generous, the flavors were on point, and everything tasted fresh. The jerk chicken had that perfect smoky, spicy kick - exactly what I was hoping for. The rice and peas and cabbage medley were a great balance to the heat, and the plantains were sweet and perfectly cooked. I did notice another review complaining about the spice level being too high... and honestly, I had to laugh a little. Have you had jerk chicken before? It's supposed to be spicy - that's the whole point. Personally, that comment is part of what made me choose this place, and it delivered. If you don't like spice, jerk might not be your thing - but I'm sure there are milder options if you ask. Bonus: they offer online ordering and delivery through Uber Eats and Postmates, which makes it even easier to get your fix. Overall, this place brought back the flavors I've been missing for so long. I'll absolutely be back - and probably sooner rather than later.

We sat at the bar while waiting for our table, and were greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable bar tender, who recommended items from the tapas menu. We requested, and were seated at, a quiet table in the back patio. The wait staff and service was friendly, professional, and outstanding. We ordered tapas, and loved every bite, from the Papas Brava and Bikini Sandwich to the Panza de Cerdo. These three tapas were more than enough for the two of us. They were filling, delicious, and did not disappoint. We topped it all off with tastes of Vaca's homemade flan and almond paste cake. DELICIOUS! But Vaca is also an expensive high-end steak and Iberian ham restaurant, with every cut of expertly aged beef and Spanish Iberian cured ham imaginable. All in all, Vaca is a great moderately priced tapas and paella restaurant, and also it is an expensive premium steak/ham restaurant. The bar located near the front door was very inviting and definitely made me want to go back just to sit there for a couple of cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, their signature, The Vaca Tonic was my favorite cocktail that I tried. It's refreshing, pretty and definitely had me ordering a second one. They have a variety of spirits to choose from, but the Gin cocktails were definitely my favorite. For dinner, my husband and I choose the Tapas route and order a few plates to share. The Carpaccio, Gambas Al Ajillo(sautéed shrimp) and the La Bola(upscale version of potato balls) were my favorite dishes. This isn't to say that our other plates weren't delicious, I'm just saying these plates left me wanting more. Last but not least, we ended the night with a slice of their Basque Cheesecake, and oh my goodness, this had to be hands down, one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. I was so full, but there was no way we were leaving any piece of the cheesecake uneaten. Now, this restaurant is more on the pricey side. But, I would 100% recommend to try once or make it a priority to check out when you have a special occasion to celebrate!
