Lunch at Blossom Hall is basically an extreme sport when you're surrounded by so many good food choices, but Caribbean Gourmet won us over. I grabbed the Jamaican Beef Patty while my partner went with the Curry Chicken, roti, and chickpeas. While we waited, I noticed the lovely young lady in the back happily singing as she made the patties, and I'm convinced she seasoned them with good vibes because every bite tasted like love!! Hands down the best Jamaican beef patty I've ever had, crispy, beefy, savory, ridiculously aromatic, and that little dab of habanero sauce had my mouth pleasantly on fire for a minute!! The curry chicken was no slouch either. I stole a bite of the roti dunked in that rich curry sauce, and wow... so flavorful and delicious!! Safe to say I'll be dragging the whole family here the next time they visit. Highly recommend!

Seriously, you need to come here. It's located in a dining hall at the back end. Very hole in the wall type of place. But listen, I don't care where you live; it's worth the trip. The jerk chicken was amazing and very generous, a little spicy, but not you have to down some milk. The cabbage, I feel is the real standout in this meal. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. The chicken curry was also a little spicy but again, you're not drowning in water. Also seasoned to perfection. The service was amazing, and the food was delivered to us very quickly (we ate at the hall). I highly recommend this place and try the grapefruit soda. You'll love it!

GASSS! After seeing so much jerk chicken hype on TikTok, I had to see it for myself. I only ordered the jerk chicken plate. It came with 3 huge juicy pieces of chicken, vegetables, plantains, and rice. For $20, I'm not complaining. The chicken is juicy, flavorful, and spicy. I wouldn't recommend getting this if you can't tolerant spice and heat together. Great and quick customer service! 10/10 overall ‍

I was eager to try Caribbean Gourmet, as I love Caribbean cuisine, jerk chicken, and oxtail. I was initially unsure what to order, but the woman at the counter recommended the Oxtail & Jerk Combo ($23) with half portions, which was excellent! The Jerk chicken was cooked perfectly, though the spice level was mild, even after a warning. The oxtail was tender and good, but not the best I've had. While the rice and beans were a bit too wet, the plantains and cabbage were great. I would have preferred some hot sauce and fluffier rice, but overall it was a solid meal. A text notification system for when orders are ready would be a helpful addition, especially for those seated away from the counter. The staff member gave an estimated time, and my food was actually ready sooner, which I wasn't aware of. While not a major issue, this is an area that could be improved. The service was friendly and helpful, and I would definitely return to try more of their dishes. While the food overall was good, a few things fell short, like the rice. Overall, it's a tough call because the food deserves more than 4 stars. Caribbean Gourmet is easily the best Caribbean spot in the SGV and my second favorite in LA County. The prices are very fair for the portion sizes, and I must highlight how affordable they are, especially these days. Kudos to Caribbean Gourmet for keeping prices affordable while serving delicious food!

My favorite Caribbean spot with the best oxtails, curry, jerk, and patties! They have made a home in Blossom Hall Market in San Gabriel (next to the playhouse). Yonette and her family/team welcome regulars and new customers as if you are a guest in their home. I was unable to reach the top of the fridge (I'm short) for my bottle of water and her husband thoughtfully put one on the counter for me! The food is consistently excellent, from the spices used to create the jerk, to the depth of flavor in the curries. I love how tender her oxtails and goat curry are, and her cabbage is an outstanding side (I always get extra to go). I also love her vegan curry, which I love as much as her meat dishes! The beef patties are flaky and filled with a mix of earthy flavors, perfect for an easy heat and go snack or meal. I've been eating her meals since before covid when she was at the farmer's market and her consistently great quality of ingredients and value for the skills she uses is unparalleled.

Located in the Blossom Market Food Hall. I went on a Saturday when there happened to be a farmer's market going on so parking was crowded but it seemed like there was a decent size parking lot and street parking right by the entrance. Waited maybe 10-15 minutes for my food Jerk chicken: 5/5 this plate came with some cabbage, plantains, and rice. This was my first time trying jerk chicken so I don't have anything to compare it to but I thought it was pretty good. The chicken had a slight kick that I really liked but not super spicy overall

Was in the neighborhood and saw this place so we went and tried it. The place is located in the Blossom Market Place next to San Gabriel Mission. There is plenty of parking off the street or public parking lots. Now to the foods. We ordered the jerk chicken and the curry chicken with rice and the famous Jamaican beef patty(their version of empanadas). The Jerk chicken was good but not enough robust flavor compares to other Jamaican restaurants. The curry chicken was good but again, way to water down for preference. However, the beef patty was tasty and made fresh as you order them. Wish that the crust could be a bit more crispy. Order at the counter and pick up your food or wait about 10 minutes pending on how busy they are. It's a bit pricey for all the entrees.

Delicious food and the sweetest owner! We were curious about the food as we were wandering the food hall, and the owner happily went back into her kitchen to grab us samples of her food. It was soo delicious. We ended up getting the curry chicken with rice and peas and the jerk chicken plate. The rice is so light and pairs perfectly with the perfectly seasoned chicken curry and jerk chicken. The plantains are 10/10 for me. Their tiny hot sauce condiment is super spicy but pairs so well. I will definitely be back.

Came on a Thursday night around 7pm to use my SGV passport for the bogo deal. Listened to the other yelper about buying two meat patties and I'm so glad I did. I enjoyed the beef as well but flavor is more noticeable on chicken. The hot sauce doesn't come with it but you can ask for it on the side. Hot sauce is a nice touch but be careful with the amount because it does have a kick! What I do love is that there's a lot of meat compared to pastry & the pastry itself is well made. I've also had the oxtail here and it's also amazing. It took maybe less than 10 minutes for me to receive my Jamaican patty order. The workers are very nice and you can tell they genuinely appreciate serving. I would come back again.

Caribbean Gourmet is located inside Blossom Market. Their menu includes various types of chicken plates, patties (empanadas like), pastries, and drinks. I stopped by to try their patties which look alike empanadas. I placed my order of the following: - chicken patty 5/5 - vegetarian patty 5/5 - jamaican beef patty 5/5 - Turkey patty 5/5 I wanted to try the different patties they have. The service was really fast. All the patties were very fresh, hot,and rich in flavors. The crust was golden and flaky. The fillings were very savory, juicy, well seasoned and flavorful. There was a letter on each kind of patty to differentiate between them. This was very nice and convenient. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I really enjoyed their patties. Definitely, I will stop by to order them again and try other Carribean dishes.

Finally stumbled upon this place after having this bookmarked for a while since they opened. Was really craving some oxtails so this was the perfect place. Stopped by during lunch on a weekday and the market wasn't too busy. This restaurant is inside Blossom Market, which is a food hall consisting of multiple food/beverage stalls. Overall the dish was very delicious, in terms of flavor profile and how well each ingredient paired with each other. The oxtails were fall off the bone, extremely tender, didn't feel too fatty. I wish there was more spicy heat from the oxtails, there was practically no spice at all. The plantains were perfectly cooked, almost tasted like a banana mochi. The rice was my favorite, it had an amazing coconut aroma and nice little bits of peas for texture. The sauce from the oxtail paired perfectly with the rice. The veggies were a nice palate cleanser from the rich oxtail, unfortunately there was a strand of hair in there which I took out, no big deal. Counter ordering so not much service is being provided. Probably took around 6-7 minutes for the food to come out. It's open kitchen so you can see the workers prepping your food.

The family came to use up a coupon from an SGV passport of a buy 1 get 1 free patty. I bought 1 vegetarian and a beef curry. Both were huge and delicious! Vegetarian totally caught me by surprise it was really flavorful and unique (collared greens?) Easily a good sizable snack that can also be a quick/easy meal for someone. Will be back to try the oxtail next time!

I've had Caribbean Gourmet on my radar for a while and finally got a chance to try it - all I can say is I'm mad at myself for not trying it sooner! The food was so flavorful and comforting - reminded me of the southern soul food I grew up eating and I'll definitely be going out of my way to try some pastries and their weekend specials when I'm in the area! We tried the jerk chicken plate and the chicken curry roti for our first visit and loved them both. The jerk chicken was the clear winner for us though - perfect blend of warming spices on a flawlessly tender chicken quarter (dark meat), coupled with rice and a nice veggie blend - heaven itself! The rice was also incredibly flavorful - and I LOVED the roasted plantains - a perfect accompaniment! Absolutely would get again. The chicken curry roti was great too - tender white meat chicken in a savory stewed curry sauce with some more of those yummy marinated veggies. It was delicious but wasn't a typical curry flavor that you get in the area - definitely unique and authentic to the Caribbean style of dishes. It's a bit more spicy than I'm used to but I loved it. My only complaint was the texture of the roti bread - again it wasn't the style you typically see out here in SoCal. It was more coarse and very flaky - almost like a thick homemade tortilla as opposed to a pita style bread. It had a nice flavor overall but I wasn't a fan of the texture. But that's totally a personal preference and I would absolutely get the curry again - but I'd get it with the rice plate and I think that would be perfect.  A very friendly man eating next to me while I waited had a delectable looking dish as well - he said it was their saturday special of chicken stew and it looked AMAZING! He said it was his favorite dish here and goes out of his way to come get it. So I'll definitely be seeking that out next time I visit! The staff were insanely friendly - so warm and welcoming and excited to help me pick out my first dishes to try. Chef Yonette Alleyne originally hails from Guyana and she started this delicious restaurant as a pop up - her cooking is incredible and authentic and something everyone should have on their LA must try list! She has now made Blossom Market Hall her home - and Caribbean Gourmet is definitely a star in the food hall lineup here. Order at the counter and they'll give you a buzzer. The vibe in the market hall is lively and inviting - with lots of seating options and promising dessert choices once you've finished your dinner. You'll find Caribbean Gourmet right inside the main entrance and there's plenty of free parking on site. Prices are decent considering the quality and the portions are massive. Can't wait to come back and try the specials and pastries!!

Javanese Jasmine Tea -also a bit icy, flavor wasn't as strong as I'd like either. Mango Passionfruit Sorbet -my favorite flavor, texture was great and not that sweet. Mango and passionfruit always pair well together. Lychee -surprisingly the milk based flavor worked great with lychee. This one was also great. Durian -also pretty icy but flavor was there. I don't personally like icy ice cream.
