I know COVID has affected many businesses. Here's my issues. NO MORE Endless - Bottomless fries. They got rid of it NO MORE fries come with burgers. You have to buy them as a Side now. Prices have fluctuated quite a bit due to Covid. They say they lowered prices (on burgers) to counter the increase in prices for the fries. In general, we've been coming to Islands for years. We had a great experience at this Islands location today! We've been here multiple times & it's always been great but today was awesome! Our waiter Garret was personable, funny & kind. This restaurant is a very nice place to go for lunch or dinner. They have burgers, tacos, salads and yummy appetizers. I particularly like their Island fries. We had a small business meeting over lunch today. The service and the food were very good. Everyone in our party was satisfied with their meals. Our drinks were refreshed promptly. I had a salad, which I customized with my diet specifications. The salad was prepared perfectly and I enjoyed it. The restaurant was , and is usually, quite busy. There were people waiting for the doors to open at 11 am. However, even with the crowd , we were all still able to hear each other speak. This restaurant is designed well. Entering the restaurant you immediately feel the island vibes. The servers are very welcoming and very friendly! I came and tried the Mai Tais (which are $5 on Tuesdays!). They are very generous with the amount of alcohol they put in it. Our server Ashley was very nice and very informative. She had lots of recommendations from the new menu. Also the manager, Scott, was welcoming and very hospitable. We had two appetizers: the buffalo wings and the Island Nachos with Tiki Tenders. Highly recommended! Both come in shareable portions. I used to LOVE going to Islands. But now I have Celiac. It would be so easy for them to dedicate a fryer to the potatoes only. Potatoes are naturally gluten free. If the fryer was used for ONLY the fries (both regular and sweet potatoes) people like me could still eat them. Please please consider doing this!!!!! read more

I ordered on the app which is pretty simple. You are able to select your pick up time. My food was out almost immediately. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food. All burgers we ordered were unseasoned. And well done when we mostly ordered medium. They were dried. They did not taste at all. The Maui's we ordered had the avocado looking all black which tells me the burgers were seating there for a while. The tortilla soup was good though. Of course they raised prices due to the Covid, but if one has to pay higher prices at least keep quality of the food. I have my doubts about returning to Islands. At least not to this location. I have been coming here for quite a while and usually the place is good. The only problem is their service. It is either a hit or miss depending on your server. I usually get the Maui burger whenever I come here, just because it has guacamole. Whenever I get this burger I always get it with no cheese (because I don't like cheese with my burgers) and instead of guacamole, I ask for fresh avocado slices instead. Also for whatever burger you order, add on the Island Reds (a great crunch to your burgers). For the drinks, I got the Big Island Ice Tea and it was okay. Not really worth the 8 bucks for a glass with 80% of ice and barely anything to drink. NOTE: If your really hungry and can't wait for your burger, you can ask your server to bring out the fries first so you can munch on those while waiting for your burgers. read more

Why do I only get the Northshore Chicken Tacos whenever I go to Islands? The world may never know... Besides the fact that they're huge, delicious and filling. Wait times are little to nothing whenever I've been here which I'm obviously a fan of. Parking is great although drivers in Riverside don't know how to operate a vehicle lol. I recently tried their Mangorita (mango marg) which is super deadly because you can barely taste the alcohol and it's delicious. I paid about $50 for my friend and I, and we each got margaritas and an entree. Everything is decently priced and tastes really good for the most part. 5 Stars for Kristina! Our first here and impressed with the island setting of bamboo and banig walls. The place is cozy, friendly atmosphere and on Wednesdsy its surprisingly full occupancy. We ordered Northshore Tacos, Hawaiian Burger and indeed these are super tasty. We end up trying another on lunch special, Shorebird -- grilled chicken and fries and taste just amazing and heavenly. My wife decided to get a take out!!! Our server is Ashley with her Southern? accent and beautiful eyes!!! Her manager, Kristina came in to greet us and got great conversation. This manager deserve a bonus and a raise!!! For sure we will be back again with the kids and friends. Oh btw, don't forget to order the Mai Thai! read more

Yuck is an understatement! We had a pretty terrible door dash experience a few months ago. Soggy, cold and forgotten items. But I thought in person it would be better. I was wrong! We went tonight and it was for sure our last visit. First they have gotten rid of the Hawaiian Punch. Second we ordered chicken strips for our baby, they were at least two different brands one was really cheep all breading that was burnt to a crisp. The chicken was tough and she could not eat it. The burger was bland cold and under cooked and the fries were forgotten. The tacos were soggy and cold. Islands use to be one of our favorites but who ever manages this one really drops the ball. Razor thin burger. Family member ordered a burger well done and was given a burger that was burnt to a crisp. Isn't well done just no pink throughout...didn't know it was a hockey puck sandwich between two buns. When we spoke to the manager, we got the run-around. I love this place! This is the closest one to my house and I've never had a problem with them. The waiters are always nice and often come check up on me and whoever I'm with. When I come here with my sister on a Saturday or Sunday, someone's always opening the door for you when you come in and asks how your day is. It's so nice. The cheese fries are good. I like their fries, they are fresh and don't taste greasy. Keep in mind I always order my meat medium rare for that juicy flavor. I've had their Big Wave with Cheese, Hawaiian and Kilauea. The Big Wave is just your typical cheese burger. The Hawaiian is your classic Teriyaki burger with grilled pineapple, lettuce, tomato, onion, swiss cheese and mayo. I would order this without the mayo, distracts from the teriyaki sauce. My favorite that I always get is the Kilauea which has jalapeno & black pepper crusted burger w/pepper jack cheese, chipotle aioli, lettuce, tomato and red onions. I love spicy foods and anything that has hot spice I have to try. This is just as good as Red Robin's Burnin' lovin burger. Their Rotisserie Chicken is pretty good. The one time I had it, it packed good flavor, but the white meat was kind of dry. My sister likes the Moa Kai which is the albacore tuna sandwich (burger.) Basic tuna sandwich with lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheddar cheese and mayo on white or wheat bun. I tried their fish tacos for the first time today. They were okay. The waiter told me they are really good and my sister said they were okay, so instead of getting the Kilauea with veggie patty, I opted for the fish tacos. They were decent, they are definitely not known for their fish. When I took that first bite, I couldn't taste the fish at all. All I got was store bought corn tortillas, the coleslaw store bought cabbage mix and a lot of white-chipotle sauce. I had five lime wedges and only one had enough juice in it for me to actually squeeze out. It wasn't until the last taco that I took off 1/2 the cabbage and sauce and that one last lime wedge, is where I tasted the fish. The beans on the side were okay. I'm not a fan of beans to be honest, only in a BRC. I wouldn't order this again unless I wasn't craving the tuna or the veggie patty; and if I did I'd tell them easy on cabbage and sauce. With fish tacos its hard to get the right amount of that chipotle sauce on there, it's either too much or too little. Another disappointment was the onion rings. My sister substituted the fries for the rings and came out with about 5 rings or so. The picture I uploaded is the actual amount they gave. It also tasted like it had been sitting there for a while and it was tossed back into the fryer making it look oily. It also looked like the onion rings that are put to the side for burgers. I definitely love this place, I just wouldn't order the rings or tacos. They have other goodies on the menu that are delicious. The bathrooms are almost always clean. When I'm in there it's always clean, so I'm assuming that someone goes in there every hour or two and does a quick sweep. read more

A really unsatisfying experience... First time ever going to Islands. I've heard it's a great place for its burgers and drinks. But food was awful with the exception of the fries. We ordered their in-house Mango IPA which was solid and the Tiki-Tai cocktail which my wife really enjoyed. But again, the fries were the only good thing about the food. How sad is that, the damn fries are the best thing you serve. They were almost close to being perfect. Everything else was just god awful. The fish tacos came out burnt (charcoal flavored) and cold when they hit the table. I ordered one of their recommended burgers. The burger checked all the boxes for appearance, but the moment I took my first bite I felt the patty was burnt to a crisp. The burger was more of a medium well done and burnt exterior. Not sure what's going on behind the scenes in the kitchen, but they probably need to clean the grill back there. But the absolute worst part of this experience was the service. I checked in at the front for a table of two. With the exception of the first host who greeted me at the front, everyone else just overlooked us. My wait time was suppose to be 15 minutes, so I left the area shortly to use the restroom (wife wasn't there since she was meeting me after I got off work). By the time I got back, no more than 10 minutes had passed. I went back to the front and waited for my name to get called. After about five minutes, I heard one of the hostess tell another employee that they've been calling my name multiple times. I have no issue with the comment, but the way it was said between the employees made me feel uncomfortable. They said it as if I were an inconvenience, I get that this is them venting, but I was standing right next to them when they were talking. I politely got their attention since I heard my name. The new hostess just directed me to another employee without looking at me and told me to follow him. I was finally seated but I definitely felt uncomfortable about everything. While waiting for my wife, I looked at the drink menu and really wanted to order a beer. The server in my area was attending everyone else, even groups seated after me, but I thought that maybe they noticed I was waiting for someone. Wife finally showed up, but the server still overlooked us. After approximately 15 minutes of me just sitting there, the server had not even greeted me or my wife. But definitely giving everyone else service. FINALLY, the server gets our drink and food orders in after we patiently waited. I've already spoken on the quality of the food, so I'm not going to bring all that up again. The server checked in on us five minutes after the food hit the table. We didn't really want to give her a hard time so we said everything was okay. My wife asked for hot sauce (to help with the fish) and napkins, which the server acknowledged. The hot sauce and napkins never made it to our table. Again, we saw every other table getting serviced except ours. At this point, I was just mentally done here. Every other table had their napkins and needs attended to except ours. I've never felt this level of discourtesy at any other food establishment in my life. I feel more love from a worker at any McDonalds than here at Islands. No disrespect to McDonalds though. Please retrain your staff on treating everyone equally. That's all I will say. read more

I'm always a fan of islands regardless of what city I'm in. Still always get the Hawaiian burger with added guacamole, grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms on a wheat bun without butter and a side of ranch. Also recommend getting their chicken tortilla soup. It's amazing. And they have an endless version. I always get mine with easy cheese. Nachos are whatever. Chips and salsa are decent. read more

Came here 5 years ago for the first time and it sucked. Tried it again last week, still not good. The food is just so flavorless and a let down pretty much to make it short. I tried a burger, the green beans, and fries. Not one thing was appetizing to me unfortunately. On top of that the server was awful. Had us waiting 15 minutes before we were greeted, then finally she came by to say she'd be right back, came back 5 more minutes later. Our food finally came, we asked for a side of ranch and a new ketchup bottle because ours was empty, she passed by us 3 times after that so obviously she forgot, the 4th time she passed by we stopped her and asked again, she passed by us 2 more times after that and the 3rd time she realized she forgot again and went and got it. No apology or anything. The place was not busy at all either so I'm not sure what the issue was. read more

We came here on a Monday night at around 6, the wait was about 10-15 mins but the bar was open seating. We chose to sit in the bar, and it didn't take long before a server came and helped us. The waitress was extremely friendly, very attentive and helpful. We ordered a variety of appetizers (happy hour) and a chicken club wrap to share. The food was really fresh and good when it came out to us, the wrap was absolutely perfect as well! The chili Mac and cheese fries were to die for! Islands can blow me. $15 for a burger and you have to pay for Fries since they don't come with the Burger anymore. I was a regular here for a long time, love the fries, burgers are fine, but not having fries with the Burger or if you order not having unlimited fries is insulting. Red Robin still maintains this. We've come here a few times and I gotta give them a four stars for the quality and taste of the food. We've been to many Islands and this is one of the better ones out there. The team is always nice and the wait is never long. Our order is always right and delicious. The only thing I have to say is that for whatever reason the food always takes long. And I get that good fresh food takes time but this is more than usual. One time they gave us a huge thing of fries because it was taking so long. Another time we sat near a family that was complaining because there order was taking forever. Besides that it's all good in the Islands neighborhood. We will be there again. read more

Placed an online order. Order was set to be ready 30 minutes later. Arrived and they said they needed a few more minutes. I thought no problem. Food will come out warm..yum. 15 minutes later I ask again if the order is ready. They go and look again and said they were bagging it. They were fully staffed..plenty of help as far as I could see.
