As much as I love Islands Burgers, (I'm coming from Rancho Cucamonga when it used to be there) there burgers are great but the service was not the best yesterday with it being pretty much empty in there. The manager is great he did comp us and apologized which is great and no big deal. But I'm only writing this because there "water" taste horrible. Not even joking, I want someone to read this and please take a sip of the water. I don't know how you can enjoy a meal while drinking that water. Please check your filters (etc.) but again I always love Islands burgers, I'll be coming back for the burgers. read more

I've been coming to this location since they opened. As always, the weight staff was amazing. The restaurant was very clean. Unfortunately the food is not what it used to be. The salsa that comes with the chips is no longer made on site. It all comes out of a jar and the North Shore chicken tacos I received the chicken was very dry. I will still come to Islands. I just won't be ordering the chips and salsa or any of the Mexican food any longer because of the dryness of the chicken and the jarred salsa with that being said my coworkers's meal was impeccable It was very delicious. My son picked up a Big Wave burger for me last night. The ingredients were fresh and the burger was nicely put together but it had ZERO flavor. They need to season the meat properly before grilling. I've never had a burger before that was not exploding with flavor. When I went to Gordon Ramseys restaurant at Caesars Palace in Vegas, it was BURSTING with flavor. Dear Islands: please remember to always season the meat and the tomatoes as well as commercially grown tomatoes are flavorless. However: my son said the staff at Islands were very friendly and accommodating. He always enjoys going there because of the staff. We waited 6 minutes to get greeted by Shonny. She is serving a party of 6 behind me. Takes our drink order, then takes an order from a 2 table, another order from a table of 4. Clearly short staffed on a Monday. It's 4:45pm, where's the manager helping out? Very disappointed We waited 10 minutes to order. Still no manager on the floor. We waited 17 minutes to get 4 bugers, 4 sliders, fries, and a salad. Remember, it's Monday, 515pm. Shonny never comes by to check on us, with no refills and no clearing plates. I ask the hostman for a water, which he does a couple of times. I then ask Shonny for drinks. Our glasses have been empty for 7 minutes while we are eating. Eating with nothing to drink sucks. She gave me the check, which returns, then she runs, but I stop her to get Togo boxes. Which she gets, but no bag to carry them out. Very unorganized, very busy, not much attention to her $100 dinner party. But hey, I seem to get this 2 out 3 times a visit. The food is always perfect. It's a little long but perfect. I was looking for a good burger today and sit down so the family and I could relax a bit. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and it was lunch hour on a Friday, but not too busy. Once we were seated, our server arrived to provide drinks and we were able to put in our appetizer order. We went with the buffalo wings because we are on the keto diet, but that means we can eat wings with ranch as well as celery. We did have to pass on the carrots though. Next, we ordered burger and fries for my daughter who's 5 years old. It was more than enough for her. My wife and I went for the Maui burger with a side salad and she ordered Kilauea (lettuce wrapped) with a side salad as well. I also added an egg and avocado. I didn't know the lettuce wrap was a bun type lettuce, whereas, I am used to usually having a big lettuce piece that wraps the burger. This did make it a bit difficult to eat the burger, but once I got the hang of it, the combination of flavor as well as additions made it worthwhile. On the other hand, my wife was no fan of the Kilauea because of the mixture of tastes and the shredded onion rings. As far as the side salad, it is nothing special whatsoever. Now price wise, it is rather costly to visit Islands. The appetizer and two entrees as well as a kids meal brought our bill to $60+ which is sorta pricy for a burger. I thought it was cool you're able to pay your bill via their mobile app through scanning the barcode. Overall, we did receive quality customer service and had a decent experience. My family and I had an awesome dinner at Islands. Normally restaurants are too crazy for our toddler, but the environment allowed us to enjoy a meal as a family. Also the Hawaiian burgers are the BEST pineapple teriyaki burgers of all!! And the service was amazing thanks to Eric! Came here for the first time with a group of friends, who are from Riverside, on 10/17/21 when I was in town. I had the Hawaiian burger, garlic fries, and tried the Tiki Tai. The Hawaiian burger was great. I underestimated the pineapple but it actually paired wonderfully. The garlic fries were decent, not too soggy but I would've liked it a tad bit cruncier. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish the garlic fries because that Tiki Tai and Hawaiian burger got me full. Atmosphere was great. I believe there was a baseball game and I could tell everyone there were fans. Our server did a great job with all our orders. Overall fun environment to be in and great food. Wish there was a place like this in the Bay Area. Next time I'm back in Riverside, I'll make a pit-stop here. Honotable mention to the staff closing up. I forgot to use the restroom right before leaving and it was near closing time so the doors were locked.
