I started coming here about 2 years ago because we live so close. Everything I've eaten here is delicious. We have had breakfast, lunch, dinner.. frijoles Colorado, sandwiches, chicharo, enchilada de camarones, and many more things, but what prompt me to write a review is the wrap I had last night. It's called the Cubanito wrap, it is stuffed with rice, delicious black beans, platanitos maduros and any protein you want. The wrap itself is first put on the grill so its kind of crunchy.. It is the best wrap I have ever had, not only the crunch effect but the seasoning.. Also, the flan is amazing.. I usually only review when it's really good or really bad... Oh I almost forgot, wish I had taken a pic, the arroz imperial, OMG, its a dome covered in cheese and the chicken is all white meat.. I love this place, it's very clean and they season their food. I had left my wallet on one of my visits and they went out of their way to reach out to me and made sure I received it. The quality of people is the same as the quality of there food, outstanding! Our food was so bland we had to add olive oil, salt and pepper to the chicken and fish. The fish came with a side salad, only a few lettuce leaves. That's not a side salad. A lot of people know about the regular Islas Canarias restaurant, but not many people know about their smaller restaurant and bakery. If you drive by it you may just think it's a bakery and not even realize you could have a full sit down dinner. The service is very attentive and the portions are HUGE. The food is great and it's never full so it's always a nice place to pop in and have a solid dinner without waiting. They have a stripped down version of the menu from the larger restaurant, but still plenty of options to choose from. I've had the "Pollo Empanizado" and it's very good. They also have a "chicken in garlic sauce" (sorry I don't remember the exact name) and that's my favorite menu item. read more

Sorry I had to use this way to get in contact with you guys because none of your waitress allow me to talk to you today at lunch time This afternoon like around 12:30 pm I got to you place at the same time with one of your habitual customer. The "lady" that came to help us assigned one table to her " regular customer" and told me to wait for a table to be cleaned ( so good , so far) Few seconds later, her "regular customer" decided to change his table for the one I was waiting for because he was to close to the door. The " lady" just told me " Bueno coje tu esa mesa que a el le gusta aquella". El es mi cliente regular y solo le gusta que lo atienda yo en una Buena mesa. I just said: I do not consider this is the way you should talk to a client . She just told me: Quien llego primero? El verdad? Bueno sientate donde te de la GANA. I waited for the next waitress available and requested to speak with the manager in charge. Four of them came to my table with no answer. The last " lady" told me: El manager esta en la OFICINA con personas muy importantes y no te puede atender, llama despues de las 4:00 pm y pregunta por Santiago Garcia. This is the second time something like this happen to me AT YOUR PLACE Most of the time a waitress see a woman having lunch or dinner by her self, she really think that no TIP will come from her table. Unfortunately, today was a horrible experience, unlike the past few years we have been frequenting this, what used to be, a very pleasant and one of our favorite restaurants to make the long trip from The Keys. Very rude and unattentive staff, especially the waitress Maria de los Angeles. My review is only based on drive through experience which i have done at least 5 times already. Coladas are not my favorite and today i ordered a cortadito and it was insanely sweet and not enough coffee (leche con azucar fue que me dieron). Every time i order a tostada they give me half of it (the cut it vertically). Croquetas i also expected to be a lot better as posted on their social media. If you want to go to a place where no one speaks any English and get your order regularly wrong over the phone, then this is the place for you. If you plan to order over the phone, translate everything into Spanish before you call. They have "English speakers" who are there merely to get half the order right. By that I mean if you order chicken, you'll get chicken but it could be fried or grilled. Chefs choice! A family friendly experience worth coming back again and again! First let's get the bad out of the way shall we? If you come here for breakfast during the weekend expect to fight for a parking space and to wait for like 30 minutes or a little more.However, once the wait is over then you are greeted by the friendliest of the Hispanic staff in the area. The first time in years that this place has disappointed me. Milanesa de Res over cooked, Rueda de Serrucho over cooked. Moros were cold. Lots of cruising employees in jodedera mode, service was BAD. For what it's worth, I'm a 52 year old, Cuban-American. I was born and have lived in Miami my entire life. I've had breakfast everywhere. This is the best Cuban breakfast I've ever had. I sat at a tight counter. My food took a while compared to the people around me and I had to send back my Cuban toast because it was not buttered. I wasn't being a pain and I could've added butter myself but that's just not how it's done. It's like getting a pizza without cheese and then having the server bring you a side of cheese. I had two eggs, bacon, two ham croquetas (homemade and best in Miami) and crispy shoestring fries. It was served with the toast and café con leche. I asked for American coffee instead and was charged extra which I thought wasn't proper but whatever. The food itself was perfect. There are so many menu items you just don't see in other Cuban places like egg and garbanzo dishes. It's a hike for me but I'll be back. read more

Terrible customer service. Not the same as the original on Coral Way. Croquetas are still frozen the middle, the lady at the counter wouldn't even reheat it. The French fries are totally different. When I usually love to come here and get some croquetas, today honestly sucked. I walked in to see about ten employees this Friday 10/7/16 at 6:45pm to see a lot of employees sitting behind the counter having their own private conversations instead of asking if I needed help. Check the cameras I'm wearing a shirt that says "Mas Café" after you check the camera check the time it took for someone to finally serve me. Customer service is pretty bad. Too many employees for such a small restaurant. Could be run with half the staff. Quality not quantity! It's a shame that this place is so delicious and notorious for it's good food, but has shitty customer service. read more

I had to chose a star to post, otherwise I would not put a star at all. My husband and I went to get something light to eat after being at the hospital all day because his grand mother is gravely ill. Since we placed the order, the waiter was rude. He practically threw the sugar on the table for the coffee, no napkins, my husband asked for a club sandwich without mayo and it came with mayo. I love this restaurant/ cafe I am a regular and go almost every weekend. I go for breakfast on the weekends and also have a good Cuban lunch or dinner during the week when I don't want to cook. I am Cuban and this is the best spot to have a really good authentic Cuban meal whether it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert, pastelitos, croquettes which by the way their croquettes are the best in town!! Cuban coffee etc. the service is good. The waiters and waitresses are nice and really do the best they can to serve you as fast as possible. I love Islas and I've been buying food from here for years and I've never had a problem with their service until yesterday. I had a quick brunch with my 2 friends. As soon as we got seated our actual waitress did not come for a while. She brought us water and then quickly left again, with out asking us if we're ready. She never brought us bread to start off and when I asked if we can please have bread she questioned why we wanted it in a very rude tone and when she finally brought the bread she failed to bring plates. She then ran by and gave us one plate, another friend had to literally get up and get the plates herself. When I received my food the order was wrong. I ordered "papistas salteadas" and instead They gave me french fires... here we go again, ANOTHER 10 minutes waiting for her to come. SHE SAW ME STARING AT HER AND WAITING FOR HER TO COME and she was clearly ignoring us. Another waiter took my plate back and then she came back and said they ran out of the one I wanted and I advised her that she should have noticed and let me known before serving it. I wasn't mad, It would've been nice to know though. One of my friends was missing something she ordered too. To top it off none of meals were brought out at the same time. When she brought out my friends meal she simply passed HER the plate with out any warning that it was HOT AF and just said "Mira..." The right thing to do would have been to place the plate down in front of her and say to be careful because it's extremely hot...Overall, this waitresses service was TERRIBLE, her attitude was DISGUSTING, and it seems like she should not be representing such a loved and known restaurant. Very bad call hiring this woman. I'll just start ordering the food for delivery rather than dealing with such a rude person like that. read more
