Food here is great! Unfortunately, management is never around or in hiding. Today is a special day, Mother's day and you would think there would be ample staff...NOT HERE! People have lined up for over an hour, tables are uncleaned (no bus boys) and waitresses must do it all. WHERE IS THE MANAGER...If manager is here, get dirty and work otherwise you are not a manager! So we had a conversation with a cousin of ours this morning who mentioned he had visited the Delicias de España at Dadeland yesterday (across front the Datran building and behind Publix) and seeing as we were in an adventurous mood this morning we got dressed and headed in over. Truthfully, this restaurant has been a staple for Miami Spanish food for many years, so there is not much I can say about the food other than as usual everything was excellent and presentation was perfect as well. I was surprised though to see they had a breakfast section which I do not remember but happy to report that breakfast here was very good as well. We really wanted to check it out as this particular location is near our home and it's always good to have an affordable Spanish food option nearby. Parking was very easy just drive around back, enter the garage and take the elevator to the lobby which opens up in to the restaurant. Compared to its other locations, this one has a much smaller grocery area, but the dining area is nicer, and they have a nice outdoor area too. If you do not wish to dine in, in their display cases they have cold appetizers, lots of Tortillas de Patatas (spanish omelette), and a very selection of cakes. There are also a few sandwiches, baguettes and croissants. A better option for take out is to call ahead and order from their menu. Talking of take out, parking is hell. The parkings on the street are all reserved, so you either pay to park in the garage, or pay to valet. If you are lucky and get a lazy valet, he'll probably just let you park there for a few minutes. You can also try your luck and park in Publix across the street. If you work or live on the same block, great, but for other folks, save yourself the headache and drive to the other locations. read more

This is a great place for breakfast, although it's a bit hard to find and the parking is not convenient! We parked in the garage of the building where the restaurant is located, a bit pricey but there aren't any other options! That said, I want to compliment our server JULIO. He was fantastic! Very attentive, friendly, efficient and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. These are all qualities that are hard to find nowadays. This Sunday morning we were a group of 7 and ordered several items on the menu (see pics), everything was good. However, the steak was way overcooked so it was tough, probably won't order that again. One of the guests also thought her omelet was a bit too salty because of the Serrano ham. They have a nice outdoor seating area and a cute shop where you can purchase authentic Spanish items. Oh Espana, wish you were open during proper dinner time and not close at 5pm! I would frequent your restaurant more often and be your #1 hype girl. So that is my main gripe about this spot- they close at 5pm sometimes even earlier such as 4:30pm depends on if the staff wants to work or not. They say the close early because of the building they rent the space in has no valet guy after 5pm. So its a poor location to have a restaurant in my opinion... they should find a solution but probably don't have to. When we do make it we only have time for appetizers- we order the codfish croquetas, jamon serano and sangria. The food is decent are so are the prices, we will try to come back to have paella. If you are into dining early or have time for lunch I would recommend this place! read more

My entire family and I had a wonderful time in this place as we celebrated my daughter's birthday. The service was impecable!!! and we all felt amazing. The prices are Awesome!! This place's has a good vibe and I loved it. It has seating area inside and outside as well as a mini market. Delicias de Espana has been a staple in the Miami food scene for many years, with many locations across the city. This past Saturday we were craving some authentic Spanish food and decided to have lunch at their Dadeland location. We came hungry and decided to order several tapas which included their octopus Galicia style, the croquettes, and Spanish omelette. The octopus was one of the best we had in a while, very tender and bursting with flavor. The croquettes included two flavors one of Spanish ham and cheese and the other was codfish. Both versions were delicious nice and crispy on the outside with a creamy interior. The Spanish omelette consisted of potatoes and onions was excellent and we added a touch of spicy sauce which gave it an extra kick. For the main entree I ordered the Serrano and manchego cheese sandwich, while my wife ordered the grilled flounder with salad. My sandwich was amazing on a nice toasted baguette, the ham and cheese were first rate. My wife fish was perfectly seasoned and flaky, a solid plate! For dessert we ran into our usual predicament, and couldn't decide on a sweet so we ordered two of them, the Tarta de Santiago and the Soufflé Delicias. The Tarta de Santiago is a almond cake topped with powdered sugar, very moist. But I have to admit the Soufflé Delicias was better, which was a soaked sponge cake with bits of real chocolate and almonds. To make our meal even better was our amazing waiter who gave excellent service and good recommendations. It was a great meal with a very homey interior which we will have repeat visits in the future. read more

I passed by here to grab breakfast for me and my family and some guests we had over. I ordered some croquetas de chorizó and a tortilla de patata with chorizo. Be very careful here they gave me a tortilla de chorizo with raw potatoes ! The potatoes were hard and it was very embarrassing because no one ate it . I went back 2 days later to complain about it since they are far from me and the hours are difficult. They said it was too late to receive a credit or a refund. My husband and I have gone to Delicias de Espana 1, 2, and 3... several times. They never fail. From service to food, always on point. What I like about this place the most is their hours of operation. When the others are close this one is open. So convenient for us. Although not too close home definitely worth the drive. Last time our server's name was Julio if I am not mistaken and he was very very very attentive. They had an hour until closing and not even a single hint of rush towards us. My daughter and I went to pick up an order at the market and the lady told her that if she doesn't leave a tip she will not get her food and tapped her finger on the tip recommended on the receipt. This is unacceptable!!! I really don't think there is need for a tip if the order was one item and the server wasn't serving anything. My family and I WERE very good customers of this establishment. The Spanish tortillas are of such quality that Spain would be proud, some might say envious. They are large, tasty and extremely affordable. Sweet treats are also great and convenient for special occasion of all types but the tortilla keeps us coming back as regulars. read more

Horrible! I ordered 2 chicken empanadas and 1 tortilla española with onions and was charged $68! The empanadas were tasteless and the tortilla didn't have enough onions and was also tasteless. The empanadas for 10 people feed 4-5. My family is from Spain and made empanadas españolas so I know what a good one tastes like. I make tortilla española and am not a chef, but theirs does not compare to mine. We used to order from them for many years and although a bit pricey, their empanadas and tortillas were excellent, but sadly not any more. Save your money, you can thank me later. read more

My Sunday morning ritual is to always meet up with my parents to have some breakfast and catch up. My stepdad wanted to take us to this spot he knew served great Spanish omelette's. We pulled into this spot across from the infamous Dadeland mall into one of the tall condo's. Parked on the second floor and took the elevator to the lobby. As soon as we got off the elevator we noticed the entrance to our right. Imagine a hotel lobby turned into an open restaurant. This describes the place exactly. It's a huge open space on the first floor of these condos with their store attached. There's no decor to boast about, the decor is kinda a bore but they did have a picture up for auction and upon getting closer noticed it was of Michael Jackson and his famous glove. Bids start at $ 200. So besides that the place seems a bit cold for my taste and very just plain and modern, but not in a good way. But we came to eat so who cares about the unappealing decor! There are alot of tables and the place stayed packed. We only had to wait to be seated for a couple of minutes so we ventured off inside their store. They had SO many things to look at! Not only did they have different cakes, wines, and candies, but they had meat and cheese platters, olives marinated in olive oil, different versions of a ceviche like dishes (it's not exactly ceviche as it is marinated in olive oil instead of lime but still so delish), anchovies, wines, and so much more. Had to take a mixed seafood to go for later. When we finally sat down for breakfast we decided to try a lil bit of everything as we enjoyed the fresh and hot complimentary bread. So starting off we had great cafe con leche and munched on bacalao (fish) croquetta's and chorizo and ham croquetta's. We also had a slice of a tortilla (potato omelette) which was absolutely delicious!!! We also shared a Bocadillo ( like a sub) which had manchego cheese, tomato, serrano ham, and topped with chorizo...insert drool here...LOL, it was damn near perfect and the bread nice and crisp. Last we ordered scrambled eggs with ham side of thin sliced potatoes and toast. We were all happily stuffed. I would come back alone just for that slice of the tortilla! They also serve lunch and dinner just in case your not a breakfast person and don't forget to pick up a platter and bottle of wine for your next festivity! read more

Tortilla Española is always a good one here. Have been getting them frequently in covid life and each one is as great as the previous. We always get the original - potato and onion. I would give zero stars if I could. Placed order via ubereats for Scrambled eggs with chorizo, Chicken Empanada Pie, Chorizo Spanish Omelette (tortilla) and a baguette. They alerted via the app that they were out of Chicken Empanada, so I switched to Churros & Hot Chocolate. Took them 45 min to scramble eggs and heat up a slice of potato omelette and fry 3 "churros". UberEATS driver arrived and waited for food to be ready, so it was not an issue with a late delivery. Scrambled eggs with chorizo includes potatoes on the side, a baguette roll, butter and a small café con leche. Portion is abundant, but you will get a cup of oil with your garbage breakfast. Potatoes were limp, soggy, cold, completely saturated with oil and didn't even have salt. Eggs with chorizo were ok, but swimming in oil. I cook. I am aware that chorizo has a lot of fat. Was it too much trouble to DRAIN it after cooking it before you added the eggs?? Baguette roll was warm and tasty, as was the big baguette I ordered. But this bread is not made by the restaurant. It comes par baked, frozen, and the restaurant finishes baking it. I know. I've worked in the food industry. So the 1 star goes to the bread company. Café con leche was average and warm. Spanish omelette is usually good, but this time, even that was awful. This was not my first time getting food from Delicias de España. I've been to the Bird Rd location and have ordered from the Dadeland one because it a closer to home. This tortilla was not fresh. The bottom was burnt. Not golden brown. BLACK. And of course they tried to hide it by serving the burnt side upside down. Now, for the churros and hot chocolate. I need to take a deep breath because even just thinking about it makes my blood boil. Times are tough right now, especially for the restaurant industry. How can they expect you to support them when they give you mediocre food? The level of laziness and lack of respect is just mind-blowing. The hot chocolate was barely warm. Packed in a lidded styrofoam cup, it should arrive hot, especially since it's a 9 min drive to my house. Upon taking off the lid, I could already see it was lumpy. This was not the darker thick skin that forms on the top when it cools down, which is common with hot chocolate and things like natilla and pastry cream. Again. I am a cook and a baker so if it was just that skin on the top, I would not have minded. I went to stir it and the lumps were the size of raisins. It wasn't one. It was several. This was supposed to be hot chocolate, not Boba tea! The churros were the saddest serving of food I have witnessed in a long time. They were white, not golden, and you could see they were raw. I am pretty sure these are frozen and deep fried to order. Which is fine, I don't expect freshly piped dough. But could you please learn how to use the deep fryer and pay attention to how long you cook the food for? I am certain the oil was not at the right temperature. They were like spongy snakes of dough full of oil, with some sugar sprinkled on top. I took a bite against all my good judgement and spit it out. *Exasperated Sigh... Really nice food and sufficient quantity but servers just can't talk English... We struggled initially and were so happy to have our colleagues who could speak Spanish join us!! Today we went to go to eat but the terrace was closed. The indoor restaurant packed with diners and made for uncomfortable setting. We asked if we could sit outside but we're abruptly told that it was closed. I won't be eating here again. This restaurant is hard to find and I found it casually while trying to look for parking. Parking is pretty difficult to find, but if you go to the restaurant, you will be able to park in a private lot nearby for $3. Since I was nearby and had not had lunch yet, I decided to try them. I have been to the main Delicias de España so why not try their 3rd location? I ordered their salmorejo of the day, croquetas de bacalao and pulpo a la gallega. The Salmorejo was a disappointment. It did not taste fresh at all and it even seemed made of can tomatoes. The Croquetas de Bacalao, on the other side, it was REALLY GOOD. it was fat and super creamy. Some of the best croquetas I have tried. The pulpo a la gallega, I would give it 2 stars. The octopus was soft but the overall dish was bland. They barely put any pimeton and I just kept adding salt. This is one of my favorite Spanish dish and I understand it is not easy to make. The service and ambiance was overall pretty good. The restaurant is clean and you have a mini market for Spanish items (just like the other Delicias a smaller). Also my waitress was very caring and made sure I was happy with my food. Overall my experience was 3 stars. If it were for food, it would be 2 but since their service went above and beyond, I decided to give them a extra one. read more

We don't recommend it & I'm sorry to say it. The place is tiny & did not look Appealing at all. Tables are too close for comfort and the service wasn't good. The waiting was long and the waiter disappeared for long whiles. We had to ask another employee for more water because the waiter was nowhere to be found. We ordered croquettes and calamari as appetizers and found the croquettes to be delicious but the calamari was tasteless and hard to chew, kind of rubbery. Also the fabada Asturiana disappointed. It was so salty I couldn't eat it & God knows I tried. My husband ordered a Serrano, chorizo and cheese sandwich and as much as he likes cheese, he removed it because that too was rubbery & stale. The food does not merit the high prices. I had a glass of milk and luckily that was good. We spent $67. and did not enjoy our meals as we thought we would. What a disappointment! We had high expectations because we had a taste of their Spanish tortilla and pastel de chorizo on Thanksgiving Day at a gathering and they were both delicious. This is the second time I make an order for a tres leches cake that is not there when I arrive. The first time they lost my order but somehow were able to get me one after waiting for 30 minutes. Today when I arrived I was told there hadn't been a delivery made of the desserts and they didn't know when they would arrive. The only option given was the drive to bird road location and get one there which I don't have time to do. I made the order to be picked up at 12 noon and I arrived at 12:40 to be told there was no cake. In those 40 minutes no one could have called to let me know so I could figure something else out? I stormed out I was so angry and the girls at the counter laughed and mockingly said bye to me... SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I have no cake for my best friends 30th birthday party today.
