My daughter took lessons for years and nothing fit for her. She loses trust very easily, and struggles with things that she is not great at. After two weeks both my kids were begging to go to swim with Wendy. Naturally they cried the first week or so, but after trust was established the kids did amazing. We cannot thank Wendy enough and recommend her to all our friends.

As you can see he's enjoying his big kicks he's just learnt

I can't say enough wonderful things about Wendy, our ISR swim instructor! My son has made incredible progress under her guidance, and we couldn't be happier with the results. 100/100 I will rate

Week 4 of lessons with added weight so she can learn how to float with cloths on ( so important )

For someone that used to teach swim growing up take my advice !! ISR Wendy Kegley is the way to go. The training that she has received as well as the years and babies and children she has worked with and taught is well beyond my experience I learned in a week at the Y. My daughter was 6 months old when I brought her to Wendy she taught her to float in 4 weeks! -First week she cried a lot , swallowed water at times would even spit up sometimes but she was learning! -Second week half way through she started to calm down and relax and understand what Wendy was teaching her with her head adjustments. -third week she was teaching her how to come from a flip to a rescue float (so important if she were to fall in) -forth week she was able to get her to a rescue float as well as added clothes for weight so if she were to fall in with clothe she could survive and float!! This is about safety people preventing drownings and in 4 weeks!! Let's Fast Forward to 1 year my daughter is 18 months and has learned to walk and ready to learn to swim ! I call Wendy because her body is developed and ready to learn the skill to swim! We are at week 4 again!! She is able to go from a float to swimming back to a float again , my daughter can swim and she's not even 2 years old yet. She doesn't cry , she smiles with confidence ! If only I could express how great-full I am for the peace of mind and for what Wendy has done for my daughter and myself. She is a kind soul, friendly to every person she comes across as well as every child that she comes across. She is such a honest person who is really passionate about children learning to swim and being safe . If theres any advice I can give to you it would be to call Wendy and set your swim lessons today you will not regret it and your child will learn to swim!

When we decided to look for swim lessons for our daughter, we knew we wanted someone who was reliable, understanding, caring and, most importantly, someone who loved what they did. We stumbled upon Miss Wendy and are super happy. After the first year, our daughter learned how to roll and float and we went back this year and she is learning how to swim ! This will be the BEST investment for us as a family. We recommend Wendy ISR 100%

Wendy is so great with the kids!

Wendy is a swim guru! We enrolled our daughter at 6 months and by the end of the series, our daughter was floating! We had such a great experience that we enrolled our daughter in a new series at 18 months when she was walking. She is four weeks into her series and is holding her breath, swimming to the edge, and floating to get a breath of air when needed. We are blown away. Wendy has wonderful techniques. She starts with foundational skills and builds upon them as the child masters them. I have been teaching for ten years and love her philosophy on swimming (which she fully educates you on prior to enrolling your child). She is consistent with her techniques, and has so much knowledge, which she is transparent about because she wants you as the parent to know too. *Quick story: Our daughter was crying at the beginning of the second series. This is very normal, but Wendy took the time during a lesson to get her comfortable. Since then, our daughter has been so excited to jump in the water. Although this isn't the norm that kids don't cry when exercising new muscles, I share this to show Wendy's love for her students. She is truly a gift and she will not only bless you but your family as well.

We had an amazing experience with Wendy! when signing up I was fully aware that it can be harder for parents than the kids. In my opinion, the benefits of my child knowing how to flip over and float, far more outweigh the anxiety of sitting through the lessons. Wendy sends out detailed instructions on what to expect and I trust her fully with my daughter. After a few lessons my daughter was excited to go to swim with teacher Wendy! It's so cool to see what our kids are able to do and learn and I'm so proud of my daughter and so thankful we found Wendy!

Go anywhere else! Stay away! They are liars and scammers! Completely unethical and unprofessional!…read more Tarrik Daou is the executive director of the Lucile Cowle Swim School (now the Daland Swim School). This man has no conscience, no ethical compass, and does business dirty to make a profit. He is unhinged, condescending, and worships money over service, professionalism, and honesty. My child is autistic and is a Regional Center client. Lucile Cowle, also under Daland Swim School, said that they would create an account with a 3rd party payer so that they could be directly paid by the 3rd party vendor with the Lanterman Regional Center. I started communicating with Lucile Cowle Swim School on March 5, 2025. It is now July 2026 (16 months later), and I have finally been reimbursed after countless calls and emails. The only way that I was paid for adaptive swim lessons was to bypass LC completely, and Aveanna 3rd-party payers conducted a full investigation to unpack their numerous lies. Dealing with this unethical company was so traumatic and all-consuming. Aveanna had to create an internal memo to no longer deal with this company because they would often refuse to respond, say they already did without turning in the necessary paperwork, and they never responded to the Lanterman Regional Center. My Lanterman Regional Center worker constantly reached out to LC/Daland Swim School, and their statements about when they responded do not align with any of the paper trail. They have made it difficult at every turn. Read my reviews. I never posted a single negative review of a business before today. I have never posted a negative review even when the service or good wasn't great because I don't want to damage a business for having an off day. However, this took 16 months of my time, and the executive director, Tarrik Daou was so nasty, condescending, and more fearful of not covering his bases when too many outside parties (not me) came with financial questions than actually providing honest, reputable service or transparent, ethical accounting. I have a long paper trail that can back up every claim I have been as opposed to Lucile Cowle, who can't keep records or even finish setting up a business account for 8 months. This is step 1 of any financial accounting. I just can't in any good conscience recommend this awful institution or Tarrik's narcissistic personality as someone you want to deal with. Please. There are other reputable swim schools who won't lie to you. I don't call people liars easily; in fact, I literally never have before in any business review. I had to come up with a long paper trail and unravel his lies because he's such an expert gaslighter; you want to double and triple-check facts to make sure the accounting is done correctly. Please take your business elsewhere. There are swim schools that actually care about your kids, not just the money that comes with it. If your child has any special needs, please stay away. Being a special-needs parent who must advocate for your child's special needs is hard; why add to your load by constantly having to unravel one vendor's outright lies? Your time is precious, and your child can become an agile swimmer at a swim school that loves children and not just sees an opportunity to financially exploit you.

He did not learn or retain much from those sessions, between his fear of putting his face in the water, inability to keep warm (a neoprene shorty was still too cold in the summer) and short attention span. When I signed up for Connect the dots l picked lessons at midday to ensure it was warm enough for him. The main difference I noticed was that lessons were very focused. There were learning goals to be met each day, and most of the time it was exciting and fun but sometimes the kids reach an area outside of their comfort zone and the teachers at connect the dots don't back off. They firmly but gently keep working on it. That's why these 1-on-1 lessons cost more. My son had McKenna, the new lady teacher and he did well. Not a tear in the end but of course, if we don't keep practicing he will forget what he learned. Other things that will help your child to maximize learning at these lessons (not requirement but helps) -Sufficient upper body strength to push/lift themselves out of edge of pool -Able to understand/follow instruction in English -Able to handle being in and out of water in outdoor environment for 25 mins (my son needed neoprene suit and midday lessons) -Ability to coordinate limbs I watched a 6 year old learn to thread water, and swim the length of the pool (12 feet?) and he came in with some fear of water like my son.

Honestly, I was already getting frustrated with Gale as she was very irritated and impatient with my 2 year old. He was anxious, and he's speech delayed so he has a hard time verbally communicating that. I tried getting him excited for swim lessons by talking about the cool pool toys she had, and it actually kind of worked. I told her before the lesson how he's so excited to play with the ducks. She said ducks are exciting! Then didn't bring the toys out that lesson of the 2 following it. She also multiple times complained about other customers to me. I find that pretty unprofessional. But I thought maybe I'm just being overly sensitive. She's from a different generation. They do things differently. It's just hard to hear your baby crying for you. I thought we just needed to push through. But while he's upset she just kept telling him NO STOP. You're not going to cry. You're FINE. With so much annoyance. Honestly it reminds me of the jaded nurses I work with in the hospital who have been doing it forever and get annoyed with patients for needing anything extra or for being any level of difficult. Just so unsympathetic. He's 2. He's scared. This is still new to him. But I pressed on despite thinking maybe this isn't a good match of personalities. But half way through our month of swim lessons my son caught hand foot and mouth disease and so did our entire house. It was awful. I informed Gale and after calling out x2 she said I've taken you off the daily schedule just let us know when you're better. To me this communicates you don't need to keep calling out. Now she's telling me we no showed 3 times. Called out 2 times. Implying we can only reschedule 2 lessons. I'm sorry that's crazy. These lessons are expensive $85 a lesson. What a waste of money, and yet I'm relieved to take my business elsewhere.
