Last week I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend. I ordered beyti, and he ordered iskender. After one bite, he said "I can't eat this" and stopped. I honestly didn't understand the taste issue he felt, and since I was very hungry, I ended up eating both my dish and his. That same night, I was rushed to the hospital with severe food poisoning. My doctor confirmed it was a foodborne illness. I suffered bloody vomiting and bloody diarrhea, and I was bedridden for a full week. I couldn't attend work or school, and I lost health, time, and money. This wasn't just a disappointing meal -- I literally paid to get sick. I am seriously considering reporting this to the Health Department, because this is a serious public health hazard, and no one else should go through what I did.

Ordered delivery and the food was amazing. Huge portions. So fresh and tasty. Would order again and again.

Okay, wow. This place deserves all the reputation, all the stars, and a permanent place in my bookmarks. Very underrated. Their outdoor seating area in the back TRANSPORTS you. It's a vibe you just have to experience, and they have their own branded blankets in case you're chilly (seriously, this hospitality). The staff? So professional, so kind, and so patient (...my first experience was in a party of ~15 of us yuppies). Okay, and THE FOOD? Actually incredible too. So many options, amazing value. Balloon bread with their dips is a trip, I enjoyed the Turkish tea, their falafel with hummus -- wow, and I also shared their small doner -- also wow. They appeared to be BYOB since friends went out to pick up bottles of wine nearby; the staff accommodated with chilling the white wine. I don't know what else to say. We were all blown away. This is a case where I'm glad I'm a cyclist/fisherman who regularly visits Staten Island (...I'm guilty that I'm a Manhattan slicker). I'll personally be back with eager enthusiasm. Thanks so much, guys.

4.5 Went here for a birthday NYE and had a great time. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was great. The salmon kebabs were cooked well and the iskendar dish was excellent I was told. They have non-alcoholic drinks only but their drinks/virgin cocktails were amazing. Loved the pineapple pop! Also we sat in the outside area which was beautifully decorated and had a wood fireplace and extra large heaters for warmth.

We had a wonderful dining experience here. Food was yummy and succulent. Highly recommend

We took the hike out here from the ferry, we're greeted warmly, and we're treated delightful kebab, and roasted vegetables, not to forget falafel. The iskender eas a highlight. Waiter greeted us like honored guests! We ate on a fan-cooled patio on super comfy couches.

Came for lunch, easy to be seated outdoors. I had ankle surgery so on a knee scooter I was still able to climb the stairs. The lamb schwarma platter was so amazing and enough for two people. The ingredients are so fresh and the food comes out quickly. Would def return for the food

Hi, 1st time in this resturant, got some take out of lamb wrap with lentil soup. Was greeted by smiles and welcoming vibe. Nice restaurant if you want authentic turkish meditarrean fare. My meal was fresh and well seasoned lamb with pickled cabbage, delish. Coming back for sit down meal soon!

We chose Istanbul Bay for our Friday night date this week, I had driven past last week and saw it for the first time, it looked interesting and inviting. I'm glad we came. The energy of the dining room felt warm and inviting, like you went to someone's home. There was no one seated inside, there is a beautiful outdoor patio which made you feel transported to another place! Beautifully decorated, comfortable seating and nice ambiance. Service was fantastic! I could not commend just one server, All of the men on duty took care of us! The food was delicious starting with the hot bread and olive oil for dipping. My husband is a fan of hot soups so he ordered the lentil soup, it was delicious. He had the lamb chops as his entree, he enjoyed every bite. I was intrigued by the photo on the menu of the Lahmacun, it was so good! Everything was served hot and fresh. For dessert my husband had the rice pudding and one of the servers brought me a plate of fruit, fresh orange slices, watermelon and banana. They also served us the cutest cups of black tea. They also provide valet parking (Yay)

Istanbul Bay is a welcomed addition to the local restaurant scene on the North Shore, located on Bay Street in Stapleton. The food and service were both incredible! We tried several dishes: the mixed cold appetizers served with their freshly baked bread right out of the oven and the spinach pide (like a pizza) to start. For main courses, we had the grilled branzino, the eggplant kebab, and the vegetable casserole. For dessert, we had the baklava and the Turkish version of halva, similar to a crème brûlée. It was a beautiful evening so we sat outside on their lovely covered patio. It's a BYOB restaurant and they graciously decanted our red wine and provided an ice bucket for the white. Family-owned, the service was great. We were never rushed and had a relaxing dinner for close to three hours! We will be back!

Not knowing what type of a restaurant it is, I decided to stop in. What a pleasant surprise. It was a Turkish restaurant. There was a good amount of people in there, but it looked like I was the only "white boy." Everybody was very friendly, and the place was clean. I liked the atmosphere. I started with the baba ghanoush. I loved it. The flavor of the roasted eggplant was delicious. And the roasted flavor kept it from being too rich. It was creamy and delicious. I almost didn't have enough bread to put it on. And believe me, I was piling the bread high with that stuff. There was also a small bowl of marinated green olives on the side. I normally do not like green olives, but these were fantastic. The olive oil marinade kept them from being too bitter for me. For my main course, I had the Adana kebab. Ground lamb, red bell pepper, and paprika. I had a small, which was one kebab. It also came with a very nice marinated salad, and a decent size portion of rice, which was tender and had a good flavor to it. It also came with a red sauce and a tzatziki sauce.. the red sauce was too spicy for me, and the tzatziki I put some of it on the rice, and then the rest I dipped my kebab. The kebab wasn't spicy at all, and the red bell pepper, and the paprika gave it a great flavor, it was not gamey like lamb can be. It was also very tender. Everything was so good, I ended up finishing the entire dinner, and I was stuffed. I would've loved to try a Turkish coffee, but it was like 8 PM, and I didn't want to be up for the rest of the night... :). The price was reasonable. The only reason I'm taking off a star, is because they add an automatic 18% gratuity to the check, and then there's also a spot down at the bottom for a second gratuity. That's why you need to read your check very carefully. If you don't notice the automatic gratuity, you might end up paying a double tip. I thought the automatic 18% gratuity was more than fair. This was a great place. They also do breakfast. I would like to come in and try breakfast sometime. Thank you.

The restaurant was pretty empty and we were seated right away. The booth and chairs where they sat us were extremely dirty- they could definitely use a cleaning. I also noticed there was a bunch of food under our table, there was condensation marks on the table and they definitely didn't clean it after the last group before us. It all kind of skeeved me out but we stayed. We placed our food order. We never were offered water. I asked for a soda and they brought me just a can, I had to ask for a cup of ice and waters. The service was not overly attentive. They barely came over to us. I needed something so I had to walk up near the register to get their attention. A bunch of the workers were standing together it took one a minute to notice me. I got the chicken shish- some pieces of chicken were very chewy I couldn't eat them. Others were okay. I did enjoy the rice it came with. Ultimately, I just think for how empty it was we should've gotten a little bit better service.

Parking is convenient, with spots available on both sides of the restaurant and across the street, which is always a plus in New Jersey. Once inside, the atmosphere completely shifts. The interior is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed, giving off an authentic and comfortable vibe. The staff were equally impressive--attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The food lived up to the experience. Everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared, though I would say it leans toward the more expensive side. Paying 18% and then 2 % card fee seems a bit much on the top of that the courses were a bit pricey. That said, the quality is there. The fresh bread and olives served at the start were exactly what we needed--simple, delicious, and perfect after arriving hungry. Overall, a great find that rises well above its surroundings. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Interior design is so aesthetically pretty and provides a wonderful and elegant dining experience!…read moreThe service provided by Behrouz was attentive, friendly, and warm, which definitely helped enhance the dining experience! Now onto the main topic, the food: This is by far one of the better middle eastern/seafood restaurant in all of Staten Island! The appetizers that were amazing were the chargrilled octopus, which is a MUST-GET, and the half dozen oysters which was by far one of the sweetest oysters we ever had (it was so good we ordered 3 orders!) The tuna tartare, calamari, and lobster bisque were all decent but nothing too special. For entree, the lobster pasta was perhaps one of the best tomato based pasta I ever had! Although the amount of lobster in the dish was on the smaller amount for its price, the flavor was so savory, sweet, and perfectly tangy, highly recommend it! The sea bass was good according to my family, but the flavor was on the milder side in my opinion; they liked it nonetheless so perhaps it's just a personal preference at this point. The lamb shank I would not get due to how overpowering it was; the sauce was salty and intense, where it overwhelmed every part of the dish. It was unfortunate because the lamb was so tender and had a nice proportion between its meatiness and its fat content. The dry aged steak was only okay too, since the spinach was so watery it soaked the steak in its liquid (as you can see from the photo), which detracted from the dish unfortunately. Overall it was a decent dining experience, where some were amazing and others were less so. It's a pricey dining experience but if you get all the right dishes, it's worth the price tag! Definitely recommend giving Sea Bar a try and I can't wait to come back again one day to give them the five stars I know they can definitely accomplish! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:
