    Chicken Kabob Plate and Kunefe.

On our trip to Boston, we came across the Istanbul Diner Cafe and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of service, the cleanliness of the place, and the incredibly delicious and authentic food! The owner warmly greeted us and welcomed us in to his establishment with a huge smile. The menu is vast and authentic. While the prices are not the cheapest in town, it's worth every single penny and the portions were large enough that I was able to enjoy a hardy dinner and still have enough left over for a light snack/lunch the next day. I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the chicken kabob plate. I also asked if by chance they had kunefe and to my astonishment and absolute joy, they did! It was THE BEST! If you're ever in Boston, this place is a must-visit. From the amazing food to the exceptional service, Istanbul Diner Cafe is easily a 10/10. Highly recommended!

    Shepherd Salad and Kofte

I think my issue here was expectations. When I walked up and saw this little spot tucked next to a laundromat, I actually got excited -- those hidden gems are often the best! Inside, the restaurant is surprisingly nice: clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I ordered the Shepherd's Salad and the Kofte. The salad was fresh and crisp, though the pale hothouse tomatoes didn't have much flavor. I also wished there was sumac on the table to brighten things up -- it just tasted a little flat. The kofte was different than I expected: more like small chorizo-style sausages, nicely grilled but a bit dense and dry. The flavor was good, though, and I ended up mixing the sauce into my salad and dipping the kofte, which actually worked really well. The staff were very kind and efficient, and service was fast. While my first visit wasn't quite a home run, I'll definitely be back to try other dishes -- there's a lot of potential here!

This place is superb. The food was delicious, fresh, tasty, VERY SUBSTANTIAL (one bowl will feed 3!) and a delight. The owner welcomed us with grace and kindness and told us that if it wasn't to our liking, he would make it right. We were gifted Rice Pudding (the cinnamon....oy vey!) and Baklava. Will be back every time I go to Mass General for treatment.

Convenient location but not a pretty part of town. The inside is spacious, clean and bright with plenty of seating. The food was solid but could have used a tad bit more seasoning imo. Service was very prompt and courteous. Prices are reasonable and the portion size is good. $40 for two plates and a bottle of water. There is parking on the plaza lot.

I have been wanting to try this cafe for a long time! The food and service went above and beyond expectations! The chicken bowl was a large portion of fresh ingredients and perfectly seasoned chicken. The ambiance was great, as well. Very clean in there. The server was so kind and helpful in guiding us what to get! She even gave us a sample of their amazing rice pudding. I cannot wait to come back in there and try some more.

Best Turkish food in Revere... we got the combo for a little taste of everything. No complaints! Friendly staff and a great deal for a quick bite to dine in or take out.

Phenomenal dining experience with tasty food and friendly service. Highly recommend the hummus and islander dish.

    Chicken Shish Kabab Plate

Got food to go and was very impressed. This place has great portions. The Chicken Shish Kebob plate was delicious, the chicken was cooked to perfection. I thought I would need an extra order of hummus but they gave me plenty. Inside is very clean tables and floors, brightly lit, lacking a little Turkish vibe decorations. But the food is the star, will try this place again for sure.

I used my handy-dandy Yelp Boston app and landed on Nour cafe! I saw that they had #shawarma and that it was some of the best in the area, so here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is literally a gas station, but there's nothing wrong with that. You pull up to the Shell, get some gas or park at a pump that's out of order or one of the available parking spots off to the right, but this place isn't really designed for you to dine in. Lol. Yes, you can sit in and eat off to the left side, but they really want you to leave. Once inside you make a right and above the drink coolers are a series of TVs that show you the menu. Continue to your right and you'll see the kitchen where all of the magic happens. Simple setup here. Service: There isn't any. You walk up to the counter, order your food, pay for it where you'd normally pay for gas then wait for them to call your name. My food was ready in 10 minutes. Food: I went with the mixed grill plate because I just FELT IN MY SOUL that I'd get a WHOLE LOT of food. Boy was I right! Lol. So the mixed grill plate comes with chicken shawarma, steak shawarma, ground lamb kabob, rice, a big pita, pickled vegetables, a slaw, a grilled onion mixture and hummus. Wow. Everything was SO good, SO seasoned and SO filling. I literally could eat on this for 2 and maybe 3 meals! I broke the pita into 4 smaller pieces and then made mini shawarmas with different meats in them! Lol. It was a bit messy, but you can totally eat this with a fork and knife without a problem. The food was excellent. Value: $16.99 is what I paid and when I got to my hotel then opened the lid to see all of that food I was just so blown away. How did they make any money by giving me all of this?! Lol. Astounded. Everything on the menu is cheap and there were many things under $10.00. In conclusion, I'd definitely pull up and get this exact same meal again! I went with the mixed grill to experience the different meats this place had to offer. I loved eating from here.

The pancakes were not crispy at all and ate very mushy. The carrot curry was delish but all the flavors together with the raita didn't really do it for me. White bean hummus (4/5) - amazing flavor and the little sesame ring it comes with was yummy. The texture of the hummus could have been smoother though. Sugar snaps (5/5) - perfect sweet and salty balance and really great texture from the quinoa. Good creaminess too. Octopus souvlaki (5/5) - well charred octopus and tender. The flavors were rich in flavor. Yellow split pea was a nice creamy base. Revani snack cake (5/5) - we almost didn't get dessert but glad we did! Okay, for a solo adventure I chose the bar and yes, they took me to a seat there. Looking at the menu I knew it was tapas style going in but before I could really start looking at anything the bar tender said, "or, there's a chef tasting." Okay, stop there, let's just do that and add the meat and fish option. To start was the Strawberry Fattoush - Little Gems, Cucumber, Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Pita Chips, Sumac - amazing. Next was the Warm Buttered Hummus - Basturma, Tomato, Black Olive. Still doing great! Then the Fried Mussels - Hot Peppers, Turkish Almond Tarator Sauce. Can't say I have ever had those before! The Spinach Falafel - Tahini, Beet Tzatziki, Pickles was next. Though you could roll it up, eating it that way was pointless. Back to the knife and fork. After that was the Grilled Asparagus - Sorrel Aioli, Puffed Black Rice, Bergamot Honey. Probably the most familiar looking dish of the night. Then the Sultan's Delight - Tamarind Beef, Smoky Eggplant Purée, Basil. Aamazing! Still going after that was the Swordfish - Nettle Freekah, Red Pepper Tahini, Buttermilk Fried Fiddle Heads. Then finally the Turkish-Style Profiteroles - Brown Butter Crème, Sesame Caramel Cashews, Halva with something else on the side. All of this with a Shepherds Pilsner which I believe is my first brew from Palestine. Who knew that was possible? Needless to say, the meal was quite an adventure. Definitely worth it. My partner and I managed to snag a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday night, and even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was still lively. Between the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere, it made for a great date night spot, though it was admittedly a bit dim (apologies in advance for the photo quality!) Between the two of us, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes: Whipped Feta (4/5): This was good, though I was hoping for a stronger roasted pepper flavor. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite stand out. Interestingly, we overheard the table next to us mention the same thing, so maybe this one's a bit hit or miss. Spinach Falafel (4/5): Another solid dish. It was bright, colorful, and fresh, though a little messy to eat. Our waiter rather bluntly told us to "just wrap it and bite," which caught us a little off guard, but it was good nonetheless. Fatteh (4.5/5): Our favorite appetizer of the night. The creamy roasted cauliflower paired so well with the crispy pita, and I especially loved the sweetness the onions brought to the dish. Sultan's Delight (5/5): As everyone else says, this is the one to order. The beef was incredibly tender and rich. In hindsight, I almost wish we'd had the potatoes from the Adana Kebab to eat alongside it because they would've been the perfect accompaniment. Vermont Quail Kebab (5/5): Tied with the Sultan's Delight as our favorite entrée. The quail was juicy, well-spiced, and surprisingly easy to eat. I'd absolutely order this again. Adana Kebab (4/5): By this point, I think we were simply getting full. The kebab itself was good, but not nearly as memorable as the other meat dishes. Ironically, the potatoes and peppers that came with it might have been my favorite part--they would've paired perfectly with the Sultan's Delight. Baked Alaska (4.5/5): Delicious. The toasted meringue paired wonderfully with the coconut ice cream, though we were a little mixed on the passionfruit caramel, which came across slightly burnt and more acidic than expected. After a while the meringue did become quite sweet, so we ended up pairing some with the Muhallebi. Dark Chocolate Muhallebi (3.5/5): Yes...we ordered two desserts. I was mostly drawn in by the kaymak ice cream, but the Muhallebi itself was almost completely unsweetened. I'm usually all for desserts that aren't overly sweet, but this one leaned more savory than I expected. We actually ended up adding some leftover meringue from the Baked Alaska to balance it out. Looking back, given both our appetites (and our wallets), I think we would've been perfectly happy just ordering the Baked Alaska. Overall, Oleana was a lovely spot for a date night. While it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations I'd built up from all the praise, we still had a really enjoyable meal. Our main waiter was kind, and I appreciated that the dishes came out in rounds, giving us plenty of time to eat and chat. The meat dishes were definitely the highlights for us, but overall there's a lot to like here.
