The steam and hot saunas were really nice, and I liked that you can reserve it to use privately. An hour is quite long. It would be great if they had a 45 minute price option. This is super specific, but it seemed strange they didn't have handles on both sides of the doors in the steam sauna. While I knew this when booking. I was very surprised that the rate per person is the same for using the space. If you are reserving it for a set time, there should be a discounted rate for additional people. We were glad we went, but I think they could definitely make it more affordable for couples or groups while still charging extra for the cleaning and washing of the additional towels and robes.

The only downside for me is the commute to Fitchburg. As a swimmer, the pools were the selling point. Not huge, but they are all salt-water. Indoor 4 lane, indoor warm-water pool and outdoor 3 lane with adjacent shallow area means lots of options and a good way to direct people toward type of activity. It's not a facility that is geared toward kid memberships or programs, which is nice if you want people and facilities focused on fitness. I feel like there are a number of triathletes working out here. They do have a Masters Swim Club as well, which I might try. During COVID, they closed and cleaned every day for an hour, and I've seen that they've been maintaining the twice-daily cleaning schedule without closing (2:30pm and 8:30pm). I feel like the surfaces stay pretty clean, and there isn't excessive debris in the pool. Downside is that they aren't always the best communicators about how they are changing things up--more than once I've headed to the pool to discover the lanes are being used for a private lesson or a group class (like a Sunday night by the pool yoga). The upside to that is that they're working on finding ways to encourage fitness and interest, so kudos there.

The massage therapist was kind and welcoming but I noticed that she had on an earbuds-type headset that she wore around the back of her neck. OK, maybe she listens to something that gets her into her groove but several times during the massage she seemed to drift her focus away from me: only one hand on my body that seemed to just stop in mid stroke or repeated massaging the same area over and over and over again, each time getting deeper than the medium touch we had discussed. I even could hear another sound in the room other than the soothing music that was playing. Was that coming from her earpieces? She also spent so much time on my back side that by the time she asked me to flip over the massage was almost done. She just seemed distracted.
