My regular masseuse is always on point--he focuses on the areas that we discuss right before the appt begins and he periodically checks in throughout to ensure everything feels ok. Booked a 75 min therapeutic massage after a hectic week. So glad I did. I think this may have been one of the best massages I've had yet (I've had massages in various locations around the world). I went for my first-ever massage at Resolution and it was somewhere between A-OK and Yay! Rounding up because I probably didn't express clearly enough my needs since I didn't quite know what to expect. GOOD: + A very nice, welcoming therapist + A warm, cozy space you wouldn't expect with its utilitarian office location + Consultation and dressing doesn't count toward your massage time + Music was not too ridiculously new agey + I did feel a good bit of relief for the problem I came in with + Good signage to get me to the office once inside the building + Online booking NEUTRAL +/- The bathroom is a little bizarre but it was clean - lock the main door behind you +/- The confirmation email told me to check in with the secretary on the first floor after parking to let them know you were in a visitor spot but you enter a small, empty lobby and then head downstairs to Resolution - I'm not sure if I was supposed to wander further into the building first but I just shrugged it off and hoped to come out to a ticket-free car (I did) COULD IMPROVE - I probably should have started getting massages years ago for how messed up my back is, but it's not the most affordable treatment as it's not covered by my insurance. In any case, I came in with a huge knot in my shoulder that was causing a significant amount of pain, loss of motion, and headaches for weeks. When I did my intake I let my therapist know what was going on and confirmed I had scheduled a therapeutic massage. The therapist did massage from head to toe, which was nice and relaxing, but she didn't concentrate on my problem area until the last 5-10 minutes of the massage (it felt like two or three minutes, but massage time flies by so it's hard to say exactly how long it was). She seemed surprised at the size and stubbornness of the knot, commenting along the lines of "oh wow, you ARE really tight there!" Yep! She did make some headway and I could feel relief. It did take about three or four more days for the knot to completely loosen, though. I was also disappointed that while she hit a lot of very tender and painful points at the beginning (running down each side of my spine, running along the outside of my legs from hip to ankle) none of these spots were concentrated on. I had expressed that I have a lot of knots in back but none of them were touched, save the shoulder I had complained more specifically about. My lower back (where I have ropy bands of muscle) was never touched. Overall I felt like I had received a relaxation massage - it was pleasant and calming but for $85 with tip for one hour I was hoping for more. I have since tried another massage facility (I had another horrible knot crop up about a week later on the other side that didn't allow me to turn my head and was causing spasms that would jerk my head - pretty cool!). When I went in there I was better about saying "here's what's bothering me, I understand things are connected and you won't spend all your time there, but you can skip the nice hand massage, legs, etc. unless you think it will help relieve the problem." I ended up getting about 25 minutes of the massage devoted to fully working out the knot, and the rest was concentrated on connected muscles. For me, it was a more fulfilling experience. I may return to Resolution because it's in my neighborhood, but this time I'll have to be more vocal about my needs. My therapist didn't make any recommendations about what type of treatment would be most beneficial upon return (they recommend scheduling a therapeutic massage your first time to get a sense of what you would benefit from) but maybe I can call next time to chat with someone before scheduling. read more

I went in looking for a little stress relief and a fix for my sore neck and shoulders. My session with Andrea did not disappoint. She has a nice, heavy hand--which is what I prefer, but she also is very intuitive when I needed the pressure eased up. That's not something I can say about a few other therapists I've been to. The actual massage part of the session lasted the entire hour--no time-chomping for changing or anything else (this is also a rarity, I've found). And the best part? No awkward conversation to distract while I was enjoying turning into a gooey puddle of butter on the table. I was able to drift off into an alternate dimension of bliss. She has just installed a sauna, so I can't wait to go back and partake of that, too. I'd never had a therapeutic massage, and never wanted to! Frankly, I always thought it would be awkward, painful, and kind of a waste of money. But, I was in so much pain in my upper back and shoulders earlier this week that I decided to give it a try and hope for the best. I'd already been to Urgent Care for it, and they weren't especially helpful so I was desperate. Andrea put me completely at ease. It really was not awkward at all. I was right that it would hurt a bit, but the temporary discomfort was totally worth it because I felt 100% better immediately after the massage. I jumped up from the table with no pain! It was amazing, I couldn't thank her enough. I wanted to give her a hug! I immediately scheduled another session. The next available appointment wasn't really convenient for me in terms of my work schedule, but I went ahead because I felt so much better and wanted to have a follow-up locked in. The pain did start to return later in the day, but it wasn't as bad as it had been.. And I feel like I've improved each day since. I can't say this was due fully to the massage because I've made other changes as well (focusing on posture and form when lifting, taking more time for recovery and rest), and the passage of time alone probably helped. But, I am sure the massage contributed too and I am so very appreciative. In fact, I'm so much better that I canceled that second appointment! Andrea, you're *too* good at what you do. Haha. I will be rescheduling, and in the meantime am again just so grateful for the help. I have already recommended Andrea to multiple friends and family members. Worth every penny! She maintained the relaxed mood with little talking during the session, aside from providing recommendations for home therapy which was appreciated. Her style was gentle kneading and finding pressure points and she did some stretching of my neck and legs. The space was also relaxing - dark and quiet with soothing music in the background that maximized the experience. Flutura did not have another appt right away and went beyond the hour mark, which was quite a treat. I was in town on a business trip, and came to her looking for relief from soreness in my larger muscle groups and overall bodily tension. Aside from working some magic that left me feeling invigorated, she's super professional: she'll set you at ease upon meeting, asks great questions to discern what you want or need out of your session, is responsive to requests for a stonger/lighter touch, and will make sure you're comfortable on the table. The studio is located on the lower level of an unassuming mid-century office building, and is without frills -- don't walk in expecting it to look like a spa, be equipped with a fountain, or for there to be someone waiting to check you in with a cup of tea. I had a great massage this morning with Andrea to address some chronic muscle knots and numbness in my hands when I am sleeping. While the massage was very intense, it was exactly what I was looking for. Andrea asked me if the pressure was OK, and I felt comfortable that I could tell her if it was too much or too little. I was really, really happy that the massage room is quiet and dark. No windows! This is very important to me because when I want a relaxing massage, I want it dark. I was also happy with the fact that I was able to schedule online (major plus in my book) and I was also able to book for the very next day. My immediate feeling is that I would rebook her again, and probably soon. Received a gift card from some friends and was beyond happy with the massage I received from Sunny. She has a ton of experience and did a wonderful job. I got a therapeutic massage and asked that she focus on my shoulders and lower back. She divided the 75 minutes perfectly between working those areas and just giving me a full body massage to relax. Once you get past the unexpected location in the basement of an office building and the weird bathroom in the basement, the actual massage rooms are relaxing, and the therapists are really nice, with impeccable technique. They actually pay attention to your problem areas as requested. It's also relatively affordable, more so with the discount for unity health insurance. Online booking is super easy. Word of warning - there are only a few visitor parking spots available, as the other spots in the lot are reserved for employees of the building, I confirmed with the receptionist in the firm on the first floor (although not sure about weekends when the office is closed...forgot to ask about that). regardless, parking on washington has been pretty easy. I would go elsewhere if you want a luxury-spa-like atmosphere, but if you want a damn good deep tissue massage, this is the place to go. read more

I tried the Infrared sauna for the first time a few weeks ago. I regularly use a steam sauna at the gym for relaxing, so I wasn't sure how much the infrared sauna would benefit me. But after doing some research, I figured I would give it a try. I had a lingering cough from a cold that just wouldn't go away (it had been about 3 weeks -- nothing helped), plus had twisted my ankle during a race a few weeks prior and it was still bothering me a lot. I did a 45 minute sauna session. The next day, I noticed my cough was gone. A couple days after that, I realized I wasn't limping any more from my ankle. I credit the sauna session with helping both those things get better. (My husband also had a 30 minute sauna session after a 60 minute massage with Andrea -- when he came home, I noticed the dark bags under his eyes were gone and he looked completely refreshed.) At Resolution, the sauna is in a totally private room. You can change the heat settings if you need to, and test out the different color therapy lights in the sauna. There are plenty of towels, makeup remover wipes, access to water to drink while you're in the sauna, etc. It's comfortable and I didn't feel suffocated like I do with other saunas. Because it's not steam, I could sit and read a book the whole time. Bonus -- it made our 90 degree weather not feel so hot! ;) read more

I have seen Andrea about 10 times now. I get massaged from her on a weekly basis because of a nerve condition. As the two previous reviews said she is without a doubt top notch at massage and truly cares about making your body feel good. If you have any muscle soreness or just need a really great relaxing massage I would not go to anyone else. This past massage session she took the time to teach me the correct way to walk (I knew I did not walk correctly) and helped fix my posture. This has seriously changed my life in terms of mobility and the amount of pain I was experiencing. Every week I see Andrea I walk a little better than I did the week before and she remembers every week where she left off the week before.
