I wish I could give zero stars. We were beyond disappointed with our experience at Ita Kitchen. We had heard amazing things and were excited to finally try it. To be fair, when we first walked in, we loved the ambiance, it had a fun, inviting feel, and we thought we were in for a great meal. But that feeling didn't last long. My boyfriend and I both ordered the chicken cutlet with pasta on top, which our waitress raved about, calling it their "famous dish." A few hours after eating, we were both violently ill, nonstop vomiting, and waves of nausea that wouldn't let up. It got even worse as the night went on, I spiked a fever. We were completely miserable, going back and forth between the bed and the bathroom all night long. It was obvious we had food poisoning from that meal. The meat must've been undercooked or contaminated. To make matters worse, the food was extremely overpriced, we paid way too much for what we thought would be a high-quality meal, only to end up sick and suffering for hours. The next day, my boyfriend called the restaurant to let them know what happened and to request a refund. The waitress on the phone said the manager would call back, but they never did. No apology, no concern, nothing. The fact that they completely ignored us after serving food that made us this sick is beyond unacceptable. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience we have ever had. UPDATE: The manager called back today and apologized. He offered a refund of 80% of the bill. read more

Food was good but I did feel like there could have been more to the actual event (trivia, song-a-longs, games, etc). Call me a sucker or a hopeless romantic or some other lowly-worded label, but I try to start the new year off with a five star review. In my first ten days of 2024 I didn't have anything to really write up just yet...until now. Actually, until this very evening when my wife and I celebrated my birthday at ITA Kitchen in Patchogue. The hype was just about real in our experience to muster up my first review in '24 and one that was a pretty easy five stars. Now I've seen plenty of Instagram posts about ITA and its several other locations which made the grub look ridiculously enticing. What might not be as intriguing are the prices, but we'll come back to that in a sec. To start off, the place as a whole has a more classy/contemporary restaurant vibe while being Italian-based in food type. It's as if ITA put their proverbial toe in the water to a clubbish style with their music choices and decor while still streamlining a semi-upscale atmosphere. That upscale word can definitely be applied to their waiters and waitresses in the idea that they are for sure on a higher level than your average server. Our waiter was super personable, friendly, and I'll even say they honored the "birthday" tab on my Open Table reservation with a little sparkler in some ice cream and a "Happy Birthday!" from the wait staff. A nice touch for sure. I'd also say the menu has an upscale feel in its unique options and its pricing. Pasta dishes run in the mid to high twenties along with most of the meat courses (with some hitting the thirties). Plus, there is a "chicken bowl" option which is legit a bowl made of breaded and fried chicken which will set you back an EXTRA $20. Wowie. Just note that the pricing might be a tad high, but the portion sizes and flavors definitely make things a little more worth it. My spicy rigatoni vodka was deliciously massive and the blackened chicken I added to it (for a few dollars more because why not at this point?) was tender and flavorful. My wife's Italian VT salad with Milanese chicken was also superb as was our slice of sweet and delectable tiramisu. Though the one item that still needs to be mentioned is the table-side mozzarella. In the same style as table-side guac, a cart will come over and take cheese curd with hot water and create a warm, gooey, stretchy mozzarella cheese that they'll place on top of prosciutto, tomato, and roasted red pepper. It's garnished with some fresh ricotta, basil, olive oil, and balsamic. For the small size (which includes four of these morsels) it'll set you back $38 (the large is $58). It's an expensive menu item and one that I'd say is worth doing at least once just to witness the process, take the pics, and (most importantly) enjoy the results (which were fantastic). Overall, ITA Kitchen has a real original concept going on with its clubby/upscale vibe and unique Italian menu items. Yeah, perhaps the pricing can be a little much, but the tastes and the service will help make the bill feel a little more worth it. Truth be told, I'd probably give the place a 4 1/2, but it's easy to round up to five for this experience and give me my first 2024 review the way this dreamer likes it. Though maybe Yelp can make a New Year's resolution to add in some half stars? Please? read more

Went here for my birthday. Minute I walked into the building my husband and I were accosted with the smell of parmesean cheese. Now I like parm cheese...in my food... not just lingering in the air. In any case we get seated without a problem and thankfully the smell doesn't follow us. The decor is nice but the music and the look of the place definitely says clubby - so if you're looking for a more relaxed vibe this ain't it. Ordered the rainbow cookie martini - awesome drink. It was 20$ like it would cost in the city but it was good. Got the homemade gnocchi in truffle sauce and a spicy rigatoni. The meal size was huge but Both were the blandest pastas we've ever had. My husband got the rigatoni with a "crown" which is just adding a fried circular mozzarella stick on top - which was delicious and was the only flavorful thing on his plate. The dishes were around 30$ but I'm OK with that price given the amount of food even though the quality was lacking. Went here for the first time with my family after just moving to Bellport with my husband. It takes them an hour to drive out to us & boy do I feel awful for wasting their time coming here. The food was so boring & so insanely expensive to add some freaking fried cheese which is apparently their "thing" on top of your pasta..?? My whole family & I were so underwhelmed. Did the chefs forget what salt or seasoning was? Every dish tastes the exact same. There was zero anything nothing zip zilch about this place that would bring me back. We literally all sent our food back & don't ever do this since we all work in the restaurant industry. Service was poor he was just gone the whole time & the hostess looked totally confused like she was in space. Nothing was comped or taken care of. Not even a free desert or drink...& zero apology. Shout out to ITA Kitchen! After a few other options fell through with the in-laws in town, we desperately asked ITA to seat our 5 people without a reservation at 6:30 on a Friday evening (I know, ugh). While they very clearly did not have endless space available, the so very kind hostesses might have picked up on our desperation and the fatigue in the elders with us, and took just a few minutes to put a table together for us. With such a crowded restaurant, it was such a nice gesture not to turn us away! From there it was an awesome dinner. We were really there just to get the relatives fed, as they were well past their usual Floridian early dinner time, but we had such a nice time doing it! My husband and I will absolutely be back when we have more time for apps (for him) and the delicious-looking cocktails (for me), but our meal and service couldn't have been better for a quick drop in. I opted for the zucchini zinguini with blackened shrimp...10/10 no notes, fabulous. Go for the blackened shrimp on literally anything - the seasoning is perfect. Also at the table were two chicken dishes, one gluten free, one not...both delicious; and a spicy rigatoni and Caesar salad. Everything was fantastic. Spicy rigatoni is definitely spicy, in the very best most flavorful way. Salad is exactly what you want it to be: crunchy, seasoned, cool and yummy. Nice to have an Italian spot in the town. Food came fast and was good. Drinks are way over priced and not great. I stuck with wine this time. Waiter was nice but brought the check over early meanwhile we had ordered a bottle of wine that we needed much more time to get through. I didn't try the dessert but was told the same goes for that. Place was hip and had loud music. Definitely caters to certain people. I don't think my upper 60's parents would enjoy the atmosphere, or some of my friends. Love ITA! This was my second time at the Patchogue location. So many different options on their menu so there is something for everyone. I always get the spicy rigatoni and I crown it! When you come here, you have the option to crown your food which means adding a big mozzarella square on top! It makes the meal 10x more delicious than it already is. The spicy rigatoni is delicious! You can tell the pasta is fresh and homemade and the sauce is delicious! I also tried the espresso martini flight which was so delicious! It comes with classic, peanut butter, salted caramel, and s'mores. My favorite was the peanut butter. The restaurant is also always decorated so nicely with flowers on the ceiling and neon signs. Our waiter was also super friendly and the manager did check on us. The service is also outstanding, our food came out super quick and our water glasses were never empty. As soon as I heard ITA was opening in Patchogue I was so excited! I've been to two of their other locations and food was delicious - tonight, Patchogue was amazing!! Great decor, good vibes, wasn't too loud in there (which was good can hear your convo). We saw two people celebrate a birthday. It was cute they have different music go off. Everyone was smiling and enjoying it. The service was so quick! Our waitress was so sweet and kind and was on top of her tables. We got the baked chicken Parmesan with rigatoni and spicy vodka sauce and added a 'crown it's on top (phenomenal!). It was big I was able to take it home for left overs and I'm already looking forward to it at lunch tomorrow. We were too full for dessert but next time I definitely want to try something off their dessert menu. I'll be back! read more

Came here for a colleagues surprise 40th birthday brunch and had an amazing time! The ambience and decor are super welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. The food was beyond delicious and the portions were very fair. I enjoyed the ITA scramble, which perfectly paired with the bottomless drink options featuring mimosas, Bellinis, bloody Mary's, and more. The service was also very commendable. We went to ITA Kitchen in Patchogue on a Saturday night for the first time. We met up with friends who had eaten here before and loved it. He pretty much put it to me as "If you love cheese, this place is for you." That's all he needed to say. Cheese and Me = Love Affair. We arrived earlier than our reservation to have a drink at the bar. The bartenders were great and made us delicious drinks. We were sat at a table in the main dining area and had a great view of the entire restaurant. This place is hopping with a full crowd, not an empty seat around. We ordered two appetizers, the artichokes oreganato and the meatballs, both made perfectly. For our mains we had the chicken parmigiana with vodka sauce with a crown, bronzino Angelina,, SJ's Veal chop and Andrew's. EVERYTHING was fabulous! If you love fried mozzarella then crown that dish! Sooo good and the portions are massive! Our waiter was fantastic too and very attentive. It was entertaining to watch the other waiters making homemade mozzarella table-side. This will definitely be ordered the next time we go. We ended with more drinks and the fried rainbow cookies, don't forget to order this too. This place is so delish. It's a must try. read more

Where do I even begin? First time I visited an ITA restaurant was for a birthday dinner but it was all the way in Nassau county. I was so excited about the food that automatically decided that I was going to come back. Good thing there's one in patchogue which is a lot closer to me. If you're going for brunch or during the weekend, I suggest you make a reservation as it gets pretty busy. The ambiance is perfect for date night. The menu is a decent size and it includes a lot of Italian classics. For appetizers you could never go wrong with the eggplant Marco, the artichoke or the pesto risotto balls. Soooo good! Although I have to say on one occasion the artichoke was extremely salty, I could barely finish it. I probably should have asked for it to be redone but I didn't. I love truffle cream, so I always get the truffle cream gnocchi or if I'm feeling fat I get the zinguini. But of course I get it with a cheese crown haha. This is actually a very good addition to their menu as you can either get a cheese crown or a get your pasta served over a fried chicken cutlet. The service is always amazing and the food gets served pretty quickly. For dessert I always have to get the fried rainbow cookies, which are served so warm and crispy! The drink menu is a decent size and they do offer a few specialty cocktails. I come here all the time and I've never had a bad experience but I do have to say my last time there was a little weird. They returned our check after we paid and after we go to our car we noticed we were missing our credit card, which my husband realized he never picked it up from the black book, we went right back inside and somehow the credit card was nowhere to be found. I gave them my information and they said they would call if they found it. Still no call. I love this place but idk if I'll ever come back , especially because it doesn't make sense how my credit card was missing within a minute of me barely stepping out of the restaurant. read more

I went to ITA on a Tuesday hoping to get the taco special they advertise. On their instagram they show a flight of 3 tacos with different pastas and sauces in them. When I went, however, our waitress informed us that we could get 2 tacos (which was more than enough) but only with 1 pasta choice and the same sauce in each. I feel this was a missed opportunity to taste other sauces ITA had to offer. On top of that, the pasta and calamari we had needed salt...badly!! I ended up asking the waitress for salt, pepper, and cheese and my whole party added more of each to their dishes. There were also 7 parties that went one while I was there, and I do have say it's very cute when they do them. Overall I would approve upon a few things: 1. I would like to be able to order items separately. Our waitress informed us we had to put in the entire order at once (meaning appetizer and food and we were waiting on one person in our party and we couldn't order an appetizer while we waited) 2. We NEED to be able to switch up the pastas and sauces in the chicken taco on the special night they're offered. 3. More salt in the food, or just salt on the table. Otherwise, wait staff was friendly, the decor was cute and interesting, and the food tasted good. Expect to pay $$$ when you go. read more

When I heard this restaurant was opening in Patchogue, I could not wait to try it.. It was tough getting a reservation, which I figured meant it was a great place. It took the place of PeraBell, which was my favorite restaurant in Patchogue. I wish they had never left. I love italian food. I am italian, and I am a very good cook. I recently returned from two weeks in Italy, which further reinforced by love of Italian food. When I entered the dining room, I was shocked.. Fake flowers all over the ceiling. Dont know what they were thinking, but it didnt look good. Started with a rainbow cookie martini which was amazing. (although I think $20 for a drink is a little pricey) The staff were all very friendly and courteous. The music is too loud Wanted to try many things so I got three appetizers, two of which were samplers. The first thing I tried was the Artichoke Hearts Oreganata. They were delicious and prepared perfectly. The next was the Seafood Antipasto. Baked clams: They were just OK, a lot of breadcrumbs Shrimp Christina: Nice shrimp, but again pretty bland Calamari Fritti: Pretty bad, No flavor. not that crunchy, and they were actually a little rubbery and chewy Next was ITA Antipasto Rabe & Sausage Egg Roll: This was OK...the sausage was good, but the spicy sauce did not work at all. You would never see this in Italy Pesto Risotto Balls: Thought these would be great. They were horrible. If you closed your eyes you would never know there was pesto in there.. It was just a fried wad of rice. Jules Corrozza: This was fried grilled cheese sandwich with vodka sauce over it. It is huge.. and looks so good. The first few bites are great.. then it goes down hill.. just too greasy... pretty sure this contributed to the stomach ache I had all night following the dinner For the main i had Linguini clams and shrimp. The menu said chopped top neck clams.. Well it wasn't linguini. it was regular spaghetti. There were 6 clams in the shell, no chopped clams. There were 4 shrimp. It was horrible. No taste.. This is my signature litmus test for an italian restaurant.. If you cant do this dish perfectly, then you have failed. So if you love italian food, are not a fan of overly fried dishes, and like to be wowed when you dine out, then this is not the place for you. read more
