I love this restaurant. Their service has always been superb. The genuine tomato sauce on pasta with cheese is the best. Other items have also been utterly enjoyable. I like their homemade salad dressings, especially the French and Ranch. If you ask for it, you will not have the classic oil and vinegar bowl served similarly to the pre-tossed bowl at Olive Garden...but MUCH better. I live close and often get take out. Go for the family pan size if you do. You will easily have leftovers for a typical family of 4. BTW, I know many locals who enjoy making a meal of the salad and bread. The authentically Italian bread is baked in house, and is excellent. Of course, you may have a different opinion, but over many years, I have never been disappointed. Our family has been eating at Italia Gardens for 10 years now. We love it! The kids love the wood fire pizza, hubby and I love Mostaccoli with blush sauce. The salad is always good quality and fresh. We were so disappointed. Husbands eggplant parmesan was not editable. Tasted like cardboard and tried to cover it up with two tons of cheese. The lasagna was meat with a little amount of noodle and pretty sure the raviolis were just reheated from Gordon's. Located almost at our back door, so we consider ourselves regulars. Wait staff appears to have a high turnover because we rarely see a familiar face. Regardless, wait service is generally solid. Food is decent and consistent, not fancy, and is the Americanized version of Italian food. (We've spent a month in Italy. The food in northern and southern Italy does not include overcooked pasta buried in sauces and cheese.) We tend to skip the complimentary bread baked in the stone oven. It's a huge round of bread with not much taste. Order the cheese bread instead. Gooey deliciousness. Unlimited salad is a nice gesture and staff does not scrimp when replenishing the bowl. This evening I had the trio pasta combination: lasagna, manicotti, ravioli smothered in Parmesan cheese and baked. What's not to love (putting aside that it's not authentic Italian)? Some say their tomato sauce is too sweet. It is sweeter than any other we've tasted and takes a little while to get accustomed to, but it can make for a nice change. Portions are incredibly large and more than half of this entree was placed in a to-go box. Husband has fettuccine with tomato sauce. He said it was excellent. Just wish this Italia Gardens served spittini. read more

We have eaten at the one in Oxford which had set our standards pretty high. This location is no where near as good. Same menu and still has a wood burning oven but the one in Oxford is worth the drive. Pizza was not bad but everything else was just average. read more

Go to the Italia garden on Miller road many times with great experiences. The one in Davison was the biggest disappointment of all time, waited 20 minutes for service and 15 more for water. Our appetizer went to wrong table. Chicken parmigiana was burn and tasted like charcoal. Waitress rylee said could not take off bill because I ate a bite. Manager removed it and the waitress threw the bill on the table. Never go back to this place read more

Love the seafood pasta. Big portions (so u have food for lunch the next day) staff has been very friendly. Salad is decent and bread is okay but makes up with garlic butter. This is my Italian choice. I like it more than Olive Garden read more

My family and I have been going to Italia Gardens in Davison since they opened. Everything we have ever ordered has been great. The BBQ ribs fall of the bone and are delicious! My son loves their pizzas and my husband loves the salmon. I always order their French Dressing for the salad - it's homemade and the best I have ever had. Rediculas policies. They have pizza on the menu and if you want to split the pizza with a guest you have to pay a $4 split fee. You can order the pizza to go and share with who ever you want but not if you done. Last time I will eat there and I would advise everyone else to eat somewhere else. But, if the food wasn't any good or the experience wasn't even remotely decent, it's geographical location wouldn't sway my review. I also wouldn't continue going there. It has a small Italian restaurant atmosphere. The prices are moderate and the food is better than the Olive garden but not as many choices. My wife and I like the baked pastas and the pizzas. You can smell the wood burning brick oven when you are outside. At times, they get busy and the service can be a little slow but usually pretty good. Worth a 20 to 25 mile drive for a nice Italian dinner. There 2 for the price of one on Tuesdays are a plus. read more

This is my favorite location to go to (I've been to all three). I love the atmosphere here and the food is always consistent. The meat and tomato sauce are very sweet, so if you don't like sweet sauces, stick with the marinara, Gorgonzola, or diavolo. Personally, I love the sweet sauce. I have tried just about everything on their menu (I used to work at the Flint location), except the seafood dishes. All of the pasta dishes are amazing, although I don't like the Alfredo very much (you either love it here or you hate it- it's not very garlic/Parmesan-y more just creamy). I love the chicken parm. I haven't had the ribs at this location, but I love them in Flint, I'm sure they're just as good here. Pizza is good! All locations are very clean. The owner is very particular about that. Great family run business! They will always have my business and I always recommend it to people. Also, they have great weekday specials! read more

We travel through Michigan each year, and have been stopping at Italia Gardens whenever we can for the past several trips. I swear I wrote a review last year, but it is not showing, and this year's experience would have required an update. In the past, everything has been great, and I would have given 4-5 stars. If we want to stop here, we often need to dine at late lunch/early dinner times because of our driving schedule. This stop was at approximately 4 p.m. on a Sunday. There were other patrons in the restaurant at the time, but it was not busy. The bread is normally warm at least, but ours was barely above room temperature. I could live with this. The salad was fine, but overdressed for my taste. Our appetizer, the Sicilian sausage, came out quickly and was too hot to eat for a bit, so we worked on the salad until it cooled. Our meals came out when we were only about half way through the salad and not even really started on the appetizer. We took a few minutes to finish up the sausage and salads, and then started on the entrees. I had a baked ravioli, and it was good, but not as good as it usually is. It seemed like the kitchen rushed. The raviolis were sticking out from under the sauce around the edges of the plate, making them a bit dried out from the baking. The cheese was melted, but not toasted brown like it normally is. It was hot, but not as hot as it should be. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs. It was cold by the time he got to it, which was honestly not long. The meatballs were cold on the inside, which would have taken a long time had they been hot to begin with. When we finally flagged down a waitress to get our waiter, he seemed to think it was our fault the food was cold. He finally offered to take the spaghetti back to the kitchen to warm it up. He brought it back a few minutes later, still cold. The cheese the waiter had initially grated onto it showed no signs of melting, meaning it was cold to start with and was not rewarmed. We ended up just getting a box and bringing it home. No manager came by to check if the issue had been resolved. The spaghetti was great when I heated it up at home a couple of days later. I will miss stopping here, but with this experience, it may be a long time before we try it again. read more

This was our first time to Italia Gardens. We ordered the salad and pannini lunch special. It took forever. It certainly was not because it was busy, since there were probably only five tables occupied. When the food finally arrived, I asked our server what was the problem. She explained that there was only one pannini maker in the kitchen. Really. This is the everyday lunch special. Only one pannini maker. Doesn't make any sense to me. I had a Combo Trio - Lasagna, Ravioli and Manicotti and there was absolutely no flavor difference. The only way to know the difference in what I was eating was sight and some texture difference. I really didn't like the sweet sauce but others in my party really liked it. My son had Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken - they let him change the pasta to penne which he liked and he didn't complain at the dinner. But I ate some of it as leftovers this morning and it was yucky. Even with the addition of salt and pepper there was no good flavor to be found. Totally wasted calories! One star for this hole is too much! Most disgusting Italian food we ever had. Our bread was raw in the center. My ravioli (which by the way they admitted was not fresh but the frozen garbage you can buy at the grocery store!) was way under cooked, sent back twice, they just kept serving me the same dish. Only 6 ravioli's on the plate to boot for $14+. Not to mention the disgustingly sweet sauce that makes you nauseous after one bite. My husband ordered a seafood linguini dish, which gave him food poisoning and he vomited and had diarrhea for over 24 hours. Everything was sent back except my husbands dish which he could only manage to eat 1/3 of it, and we were still charged for it all, with an "Im sorry you couldnt eat any of it". A manager refused to come talk to us to even discuss the issues. The following weekend we had a great dinner at Olive Garden, similar dishes, for $10 cheaper, plus we had dessert! And, the pasta is fresh and the portions are 3 times bigger! Not only are they drastically over priced, but no one older than 18 works there! RUN away from this restaurant! The place was empty on a Saturday night, now I know why! I guess that's why they charge you 3 times more, to make up for their lost revenue.
