Everything is homemade (which I love). I didn't care for what I had because I'm not big on Italian sausage. But that was my fault and I listened to everyone else. Napoleon had too much whipped cream and not enough Bavarian cream in it, was still good tho. Side salad has black olives onions cheese tomatoes pepperoni on it. Service was ok seemed a bit steady and everyone came and left except us. Place is small. They clean up quickly. Front door is actually employee door, customers have to use side door. Such a hidden gem that the Yelp community helped me discover with a couple of work friends. This is a small local eatery that feels like a local favorite. Very polite staff! I was placed on hold when calling to order pizza but only for a few seconds. After placing my order it was repeated back to me with the total price (there is a small surcharge if paying with a card). My order was ready at the time they provided and again the staff was very polite:). It's a smaller restaurant, if dining in choose non-peak hours. The pizza was excellent!! I loved their sauce, it has a tiny garlic kick to it! Also, 1 pizza (bc of allergies) couldn't have cheese on it, and the sauce made up for the missing cheese lol. Okay it's been a while since I'd been here but nothing had changed. The ambiance is still warm and welcoming. I had a to-go order so I can only speak on my to-go service which was excellent. Stopped by here a few days ago from out of town, was the perfect spot for a lunch on St. Patrick's Day. 5 of us stopped here over the weekend and were seated super-quickly by the friendly staff. They had a regular menu and a Specials-Menu with tons of interesting options for us to flip through. As an out-of-towner, I went with the Dagwood sandwich, which I'm told is a local specialty. Other folks around the table mostly stuck to other tasty sandwiches as well - a Turkey BLT, a Corned Beef Reuben with chips, that sort of thing. And for dessert, we went with a chocolate eclair and a slice of chocolate cake. The taste was great overall, zero complaints. The SIZE of the portions was what impressed me. Hot damn...I'm so happy THREE of us ordered the single Chocolate Eclair rather than just myself, or I'd never have finished it - these guys don't mess around with portion sizes, in the slightest. Same goes for the sandwiches that came out before dessert; they were served pre-sliced in half, and honestly either half was easily good enough for lunch for a regular person, especially with the sides included etc. I love it when a restaurant isn't shy with the quantity of food they serve you (while also not skimping on the quality of the ingredients), and make sure you're getting the biggest bang for your buck. Not that I paid a cent, someone else bought us all lunch here. Either way I'd be very happy to come back, would just need to make sure I pack an appetite first. (And, as silly as it sounds, I really just want to try something that comes with...pesto. See if it lives up to the name of the actual restaurant.) read more

I used to work right behind this place & go here all the time for lunch. There isn't a bad sandwich on the menu. The daily specials are always spectacular, even though sometimes they seem a little outlandish. This place was started by 2 local chefs, Rich & Grant. I think one of them has moved on to his own consulting business from what I've heard, but the quality and flavor has remained. I've been all over Flint looking for food as good & still haven't found any. The Cole slaw is ridiculously good. Yeah, I know, it's Cole slaw. But try it. Cheesy garlic bread and a huge salad accompanied the entree. My sweet tooth demanded that I try belles chocolate cake. That was the best cake I have had in years. I had this luscious salad -" Summertime Breeze Salad- chopped romaine lettuce topped with julienne chicken breast, strawberries, red onions, pecans, gorgonzola cheese, dried craisins, cucumbers, choice of dressing, breadstick " small 11.99 large 15.99 They happily accommodated several special requests. The service was prompt and attentive. The only off note was with dessert, which I ordered to go. It was unexpectedly heavy and overly sweet. When I see a description of Lemon Raspberry cake I expect something light and summery. So sue them. Pesto's is not an interior design studio, it's a restaurant. What I want from a restaurant is great food. That is what I found. Mostly Italian fare, the menu is great. But, the taste is amazing. Everything we had at the table had a homemade flavor to it, even the salad dressing. The portions are crazy generous too. The service was prompt and friendly. Our server was very pleasant. You have to save room for desert. They are absolutely incredible. Again, all have that homemade look and taste. Just the best. I'd give a million stars to their meatballs if I could. I ordered to go on my way to the Flint airport, since the food at the airport is never great. My server was really nice and she got my food ready in like 5 minutes since I was in a rush to the airport. I was praying TSA didn't take my food at the security check and jumped for joy when it came through the X-ray machine without an issue. The noodles and sauce were nothing special, but the meatballs were A++++. They use a LOT of cheese. It's a boarder-line choking hazard, but I'm not sure if that's an issue if you love cheese. I personally might ask them to go light on the cheese next time. The serving size is really large. I could easily have made it into two meals if I wasn't traveling. Sustainability note: they use plastic and styrofoam packaging, which is too bad. The give you plastic silverware and put everything in a plastic bag. Next time I'll try to eat there in person rather than ordering to-go to avoid the packaging. read more

LeRoy: When we arrived it was like being in Grandma's kitchen and dining room with a bunch of card tables set up with people eating different things. As we read the menu, we were both stunned at some of the things that were on it. The fish in particular was immaculate. It had a little bit of a crunchy crunch, but just a little bit. It was pan fried. It was excellent. The breadstick is worth mentioning. I could take 6 of those home. I never did get to the french fries-they were just taking up space. We completed the meal, after the extremely good salad, we had coconut cream pie. Out of sight! Made with real crust, stuffed with real pudding type filling, covered with cream topping with a bunch of toasted coconut. I ate enough for three people and I still have leftovers. It was excellent. Katie: I got the chicken Alfredo. It was prepared quickly and deliciously. It had mushrooms in it which is always a good thing. It was served with cheesy garlic bread and that was my favorite part.
