Along this highway in Farmingdale, you will find an Italian deli that serves quality ingredients. I…read moreonly went there to support local businesses, and I will say that I do not regret it. Brand: 5/5 Tenth and Willow is an Italian-themed deli located in Colts Neck Plaza in Farmingdale. The logo has the Italian flag emblazoned in the background. The solid aesthetics on the website of the sparkles and shining rays perfectly represent the brand. When it comes to the interior, I will say that they deliver on all they promise, for you will find many Italian food and ingredients throughout the establishment. Website: 5/5 It brings you immediately to an image of a sandwich, which makes a good first impression on anyone coming to the site. Scrolling down, you encounter the backstory and the menu with many selections from beverages to wraps to heroes. You will find at the bottom a regularly updated blog section filled with fun facts of Tenth and Willow. Wait Time: 5/5 I experienced no delay or disruptions during the time I waited for my order. Ambiance: 4/5 The establishment housed plenty of Manhattan Specials of varying flavors throughout the aisles. You will also find plenty of cookies and treats upon racks, including meats and cheese hidden behind large glass counters. The aisles and the space between them and the deli did feel cramped with no tables or seats available. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Maple Ham Hero, which considers maple ham, fontana cheese, lettuce, tomato, and balsamic glaze. The maple ham had a sweet taste, as expected, which complements well with the sharp fontana cheese and the lettuce. The balsamic glaze had its own strong taste. The bread held well and had a decent amount of crunch, without becoming stale. Everything in the hero stayed in place while it also had a rich, thick taste. Service: 5/5 The staff managed to get my order without any issues. Worth The Money?: 4/5 The selection of meals, such as heroes, definitely reflect the brand of Tenth and Willow as an Italian market-and-deli. While I did not have a problem waiting, it did feel cumbersome in a cramped area for my order. Nevertheless, the ambiance of exploring around the establishment did not have an issue with me, especially as I got to see the delicacies from the cookies to the marzipan. As for the Maple Ham Hero, the appropriate wait time matched the quality of the food. The organization of the food shows that the staff care about their ingredients. They make it clear on their website that most of their partners provided locally sourced ingredients. If that is true, then this establishment deserves more attention, and I can see how Italian restaurants would rely on this deli for their ingredients. While the website does not scroll down with silky speed, it does provide a sense of welcoming ambiance with its deep, green color. I will say ultimately that the price of the Maple Ham Hero and the experience going to Tenth and Willow was worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars I have hope that Tenth and Willow will continue to have relevance in Farmingdale, and among those who prioritize Italian cuisine and ingredients. Recommend To... Anyone just starting an Italian restaurant and is looking for key ingredients, since you would be supporting local producers while propping up your local business, thus creating a network of local businesses that help the community through the local multiplier effect. I also recommend to anyone looking to add more to their Italian-inspired cuisine and need suggestions about which meats, cheese, or spices to use. If you like Manhattan Special, then I would also recommend this establishment to you.

Brand: 4/5 Outside, the sign outside the business did not reflect the logo used for the brand, which has an updated look. Despite the outdated sign, I will say that I like the new logo, since it has that western aesthetic that maintains a sense of classiness. Inside, the classic brown tiles of the floor have an inviting vibe, along with the glass counters showing the food. Website: 3/5 It welcomes you with the standard Slice theme that comes with restaurant website, but only at the bare minimum. Because it typically applies to pizzerias, this red-and-green theme works against the website, since it could mislead the consumers. Also, none of the menu items have any images accompanying them. Ambiance: 4/5 The television did blare a little bit, and the table we sat at was near the cleaning area, so that sink smell kept coming. Nonetheless, I did think that the chairs felt comfortable enough and the tables had a large enough space between them. The waiting counter has a wide enough space to bring anyone's order into view without it becoming a nuisance. Service: 5/5 The staff went through great lengths to ensure we had an accommodated experience. Wait Time: 5/5 We experienced no interruptions during our wait time, and the orders came quickly. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Italian, which is essentially an Italian sub with salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, onion, tomato, mayonnaise, vinegar, and oil, with orange juice. The ingredients and the buns had a fresh, natural preparedness. The buns held their form even as the ingredients started to pour out. I will say that the flavor resembles the Italian subs from other restaurants, though in this case, the mayonnaise had the most profound flavor which complemented the sub well. I did think that it had too much grease on it. A rule of thumb of mine is if I need to use multiple napkins to wipe my hands, then the food is too greasy. Worth The Money?: 3/5 Concerning food, I think that it reflects the internal conflict of the establishment's identity. Is it Italian-based? Is it diner-based? A strong recommendation I can make is to provide some menu items so unique they set King of Bagels and Subs apart from the other eateries into its own niche buffer zone. Hybrid eateries do exist and I can see a bagel-and-Italian diner working, but I just do not see it with the website. The food works with the ambiance, since it will offer you many options with a clear space. Likewise, the meals had the appropriate amounts of wait time and service. I did not have to worry about waiting, since the staff care about their customers. I do think that while the logo does have a good design, it only works so much, since I do not know how much the business itself reflects off the theme, especially if the menu appears pretty standard. I would recommend including that logo into more spaces, including even the sign if becomes possible. I will say that the menu items can have a high price. Is the price ultimately worth it? Not unless you wish to support local businesses. Other than that, any issues beyond principles will not entice you to go to King of Bagels and Subs. Rating: 4/5 Stars I can see how this establishment could become the King of Bagels and Subs, with the Howell Plaza as its demesne and the consumers' happiness as its regal mandate. For now, I do not see it. Recommend To... Anyone who works around Howell Plaza and need a quick bite at any time of the day. I can easily see how the King of Bagels and Subs could serve someone three courses in a single day, whether breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner.

Although the food may be a 3 - 4 star, the service was a 1 star and that made my dining experience…read morethe worst. Our waiter is totally inexperienced for such an establishment. He started off by not speaking loud enough for the entire table to hear and catering to only one person at the table which frustrated others at the table. During the meal the same waiter forgets to order my sons lemonade while the rest of the group gets their drink and to make things worst, other members of our party got second drinks while my son still has not received his first drink. Just FYI my son has special needs so yest that upset me. One big NO NO Is for a waiter to reach over a customer who is eating which this waiter did and his arm pit was so close to my face while I'm trying to take a bite, just to hand someone a spoon on the other sided of the table which is what he did. I advised him he should have walked around to the other side of the table to hand the spoon to the person. That was the start of ruining my meal at this establishment. The owner (Chef RIVERA) was sitting at the bar about 5 feet away mind you,, while this took place and totally heard my complaint to the waiter but did nothing and even at the end of our meal he (Chef RIVERA) was advised by the waiter how unhappy I was and still didn't even get up off his fat ass to apologize or acknowledge the poor service experience. Chef RIVERA just sat there continuing his conversation with his friend. Mind you he was only a our 5 feet away from us and heard me complain over and over. He heard me complain when they took the steak knife and fork away and my son was not even finished eating and he heard about the drinks issue and the reaching over me issue. So for this poor dining experience that left a bad taste in my mouth, I give this establishment a 1 star. I will never give this place a 3rd chance and it's due to the service and the owner who doesn't care as well as the lack of acknowledgment that anything is or was wrong with their service. Thank you Mr. CHEF RIVERA for such a POOR DINING EXPERIENCE... we spent $390 day one & $157day two. Good luck Chef RIVERA, So sad that your 20 plus years experience in the industry has not helped you deal with customers... take that chip off your shoulders and maybe your place could be 100x's better....
