The worst take out experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I ordered online from their website and it took 1 hour and 40 minutes to finally get my food. They lied and made all kinds of excuses about it. They wouldn't even give me a refund so I could go somewhere else. Then they were out of cheesecake so I asked for tiramisu instead and was told they were out of ALL desserts even though they had a big white board with their desserts. When I finally got my food the guy refused to give it to until I took a Picture of the order! I refused and snatched my pizza box from him. THEN THEN they offered to comp my shrimp salad which they took off the bill but also didn't give it to me! Absolutely terrible! I used to go there twice a month, never again. Today I bought my first and last food from ur restaurant, I was asking for a sweet tea 2 packs of ranch and a slice of pizza. Well when I ate it the food tasted like nothing, Literally flavorless than the sweet tea tasted like plastic bags. actually terrible and my ranch yeah they said they don't have ranch how do you not have ranch??? You need to come a weekdays here because on weekends it's gen z staff who take forever to make ur food just for it to not be right. I came here on a Wednesday at lunch the older staff actually cared about quality food, and the reason I know about the gen z thing is because my husband came here on the weekend. First of all, the service was exemplary. Very sweet waitresses. However, the "lasagna" I ordered was hands down the nastiest food I think I've ever eaten. The cheese that was melted on top was good. But the meat filling was the consistency of baby food and had no herbs or any kind of spice except maybe a good bit of salt in an attempt at flavor. There were white specks in it that looked like tiny pieces of rice. I'm still uncertain what they were. I can't remember the last time I complained about food but this stuff was so gross I had to be honest when the waitress asked me how everything was. I feel bad leaving this review because the waitresses were so nice, but I feel like I need to warn people. I only came here because a relative raved about it. It has been a while since I went here to get pizza. Now I remember why. The food is mediocre at best. But now they charge a 3% fee for using a card to pay. There was no mention of this when I called in to order. I didn't see any signs posted. I wonder if they told the people that were in there eating before they get the check? Only 10 people in there. The food was not that good. There was onions in the ketchup bottle that was served to my girlfriend, and I we went to check it out, and the Lady behind the register was eating food at the register, then walked into the kitchen, grabbed another customers food and served it. Also was a discrepancy on my bill. Her family is from the area and said it used to be a good place but they will never get another dime from me! I wouldn't suggest this place to nobody. From the outside, it looks pretty normal. When you walk in, the smell of the food puts your senses in overdrive. Sure, the interior is a little drab and outdated, but clean and maintained. A glance at the menu gives you hope, as there is quite a selection of tasty dishes, described to the T, leaving nothing to the imagination. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi over linguini, my wife, the Linguini with Clam Sauce, and my oldest daughter, the Chicken Marsala. Our salads came out first. Nicely put together greens and veggies, with the best tasting balsamic vinagrette ive ever tasted. Next came our appetizer, the Potato Skins. Very well prepared, steaming hot, fresh and delicious. Smothering in cheese and bacon pieces. Finally, out came our main courses. Beautifully prepared, steaming hot, freshly prepared FROM SCRATCH, and a perfect portion. As i spun my fork into the first taste, my excitement was overwhelming. I've been in the south for 4 years, and have had nothing but disappointment from just about every "italian" restaurant ive been to. Until now. I put the fork in my mouth, my eyes opened widely, my taste buds jumped, and the hair on the back of my neck stood straight up. Had i just tasted that right? My God, that was the best italian dish ive had in a LONG time. I loaded my fork again, and again, in relief. After that, i had to try a mouthful of my wife and daughters meals, all exactly as well prepared. That Shrimp Scampi was the best ive tasted, ever. By far. Even being from the italian epicenter of the northeast (New Haven, CT- Wooster Street) I was shockingly impressed. I have found my new italian restaurant of choice. Italian Garden, you are my new best friends. I cannot wait to try the pizza, and all the other delectible dishes advertized on your vast menu. And the prices? The Shrimp Scampi was $12.99. My wife and I stopped here the other day. We ordered a pizza and a couple of appetizers. The waitress got our drinks quick and the appetizers were brought out quick. They were very good and didn't taste like they came out of a box........BUT...... We only seen our waitress one other time and that was when she brought us refills for our drinks. She didn't bring ice, just half full cups of the drinks we ordered and assumed we still had ice in our other cups. The pizza was brought out in a reasonable amount of time, but to be honest, it wasn't worth the $20.00 bucks we paid for it. The dough was super thin and the pizza was burnt as a result. Not very much in the topping department either considering how much it cost for a 16" pizza. It was VERY underwhelming. We barely ate half of the pizza between the two of us and as the waitress was rushing out the door, she brought a box that wouldn't have fit half of what we had left and we had to ask another waitress for a bigger one. I can't say anything about any other dishes they offer, I can only talk about my personal experience. I gave 2 stars because the service was quick even if the waitress was too worried about leaving to be attentive and the appetizers were really good. So, if you are going for pizza, drive a couple more blocks in either direction. You'll pay less and be much more satisfied. read more

The food was excellent. However, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. After making a phone call for take out, it took 3x to clarify my order. Once the order was ready, it was short of a gyro and grape leaves. The owner came up to the desk and got a bit confrontational citing that Greek salads were not subbed for fries. She said fries were in every gyro meal. We had to recite our order again to the server, and received our take out order quickly. After we got home, two gyro orders were missing fries. I had driven by this restaurant several times and decided to give it a try. Especially since there are not many options for dining out in Chester besides fast food. I would've been better off having a peanut butter sandwich at home! The restaurant seemed clean enough from appearances but the quality of the food looked like it came from the dollar tree. The chef salad was a side salad portion with a single rolled up piece of ham & turkey with plastic wrapped American cheese. I sent it back and ordered the chicken Parmesan. The chicken which was flat grilled and dry was on top of a bed of over cooked spaghetti noodles, tasteless sauce and mozzarella cheese covered up the fact that there was nothing much under there except noodles. Great low-key environment. Friendly staff. We ordered Spaghetti & Italian Meatballs and the Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo. The Spaghetti was perfect! Not too saucy, not too dry. Perfect noodles. I wouldn't change a thing. The Alfredo was good. The only thing wrong with the entire meal was that the broccoli was as close to raw as it could get. I had gotten food from the Italian Garden a few times with not very good results. The pizza is not bad although their large is not very large. I tried a turkey sub which I had been craving for more than a week, I was very disappointed in the sparcity of the meat and toppings. Can I give a negative star?! I am heart broken. We used to get take out here at least once a month. I ordered ahead to get a 16" pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Not too difficult. I ended up with a leftover bread stick sliced into strips with one piece missing a significant chunk. I should have known because the sign a the front said check your food before you leave. The waitress did not hand me the box at the counter but came to the side. I paused, but thought it would be fine. Once home my husband said, "What's this? Did someone take a bite out of our pizza? What kind of slice is this?" Yuck! Oh it was not cooked all the way through either, and cut into super small strip slices with parmesan cheese like breadstick strips you would get from Pizza Hut. We went at lunch time and all ordered pizzas. HOLY CRAP those were the best pizzas we have ever had! We each ordered the lunch special (expecting the pizzas to be small), NO they came out at least the size of a medium pizza, if not bigger! We all had leftovers that we ate for lunch the next day. We just happened to be camping at the Chester State Park and decided to stop here to eat. It was awesome and we will be back for sure if we are ever in the Chester area again. read more
