Ordered the chocolate espresso iced drink (can't remember the name) and it was very yummy and smooth. Ordered with only a double shot of espresso since it normally comes with 4. Cashier was friendly and the service was quick. I'm definitely looking forward to going back for the baked goods.

The service here is nice, friendly. Was a bit sad I came in hoping for a bread bowl & soup, but looks like it didn't sell well enough during the pandemic to survive on the menu. I got the soup & sandwich combo instead, with the veg chili & ultimate grilled cheese, which had caramelized onions. Was a little over $10. I served myself the soup & asked if the little crust of bread next to the soup was ok to take. It was. It was a little saltier than I like my grilled cheeses, and the bread was soggy with butter that didn't really crisp the sides. The vegetarian chili did pair well with it, though, since it was mild enough to downplay the saltiness. The cheese pull was nice, thanks to the mozzerella, but wasn't a fan of the soggy bread (I ate this within 10 mins of ordering). What really concerned me today though, was having the carrot cupcake for dessert & midway through, biting into something really hard. Washed it off, & it turned out to be a shell of some sort. Walnut, perhaps? Was the first time I ever encountered something like this ever...made me worried about trying any more of their baked goods. I'd gotten them occasionally with no incident the past few years, but they weren't my taste. Still haven't found one I really like. They usually leave a kind of cloying sweetness that feels a bit artificial...like some grocery store baked goods. Sad to say this was the nail in the coffin. I'll (cautiously) try the mini chocolate bundt I got, but this will probably be the last time I try their baked goods.

Wow, can you really call this "avocado toast"? What a joke, my 5 year old can do better.

What a perfect spot for brunch this morning! Service was outstanding and the menu has so many great options from which to choose. I had the avocado toast #3, which came with eggs on top, fresh fruit and coffee and my friend had the bagel sandwich with eggs and cheese and fresh watermelon. He said the cold brew was so flavorful. Everything was outstanding. The ambiance was great and there were several seating selections to choose from, both inside and outside the bakery. I would definitely recommend trying Ithaca Bakery.

    Brooklyn on a Long Island

"Yeah, lemme get a Brooklyn on a Long Island." That is Ithaca Bakery talk for "Bacon, egg and cheese on an Everything bagel" and now you officially sound like a local! Us Jersey and NYC folks fit right in after getting that one down. I was in town with my cousin who went to Cornell and was VERY excited to show us all of her favorite spots. Ithaca Bakery was the first stop for a breakfast sandwich. I believe they have two locations; this one is in a strip mall with a really convenient indoor atrium. They had a few tables set up there so we were able to snag one and enjoy breakfast together. Be warned, it wasn't as cold as true outdoors but it wasn't exactly heated so you'll want to keep your coats on, but it was still great! Now the sandwich, the Brooklyn on a Long Island... a good breakfast! It was honestly just your typical BEC but it came out great. The coffee was piping hot and a good brew. I will say, it was pretty pricey. Two sandwiches and two coffee was around $26/$27. We all joked about how affordable nyc is (a very funny joke IMO). If you are from the area, I'm sure you know how great this place is. If you're just passing through, pick up a sandwich and a coffee! They had LOTS of options for both breakfast and lunch.

Their peach scone is so good and comfort. The service is friendly and busy with the customers' orders.

I usually come here to their sandwiches ; mainly the Milanese. It's sooo good and you can get it over gluten free bread. We also got the New Yorker; the roasted beef is great and it's so good. My friend got the veggie burger and loved it. I honestly feel sad saying this but I'm not a big fan of their desserts. We got a custom birthday cake for our son from here and it was perfect on the outside but didn't taste all that. The art was great but the taste was ...ok. We got a variety of desserts and unfortunately we didn't like anything. The only thing that was ok was the pecan pie. Overall clean and organized. The place offers great variety of desserts and sandwiches. I prefer to go for savory items rather than sweets.

Ithaca Bakery is simply a local staple. My office gets delivery from here often. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tuscan. Their delivery is always super prompt and helpful. One day when I was already downtown I thought I would stop in the store and grab a quick bagel sandwich. It took way longer than I expected. Next time I will definitely order ahead or get delivery. Thankfully once it came out it was absolutely delish! Perfect ratios of egg, cheese, bagel and bacon. The ordering process was a little unusual. You order in one location, then pay in another, and then pick up in another. It seems a little inefficient, and nobody really knew how to follow along. Why not pay when you order? The parking was less than ideal at the meadow street location. Very crowded. Thankfully I have a small car. I was really surprised to see that they have wine and beer at the meadow street location. Who knew a bakery had a bar?! They have so much food to choose from. Definitely a place to go in downtown Ithaca! (If you can get a place to park!)

Patience is key, because owner/chef, Matt, is busy Thursday-Sunday at the restaurant and I'm sure the other days, he is planning, shopping, returning emails and calls.  We did connect and he was just wonderful to work with. I did book the entire restaurant as our party was planned for 10-15 people. He offered several selections for entrees, appetizers and desserts for me to choose for our menu.  Since I wanted to have a steak offering, he asked that make entrée selections in advance for shopping purposes.  We worked out a wonderful menu.  He even accommodated a wine tasting of two different flights of wines that would be offered all evening. The evening started with glasses of champagne and socializing in the first room of the restaurant with has the bar area with a few seats and several small dinner tables. Matt had the second room set up with a large rectangular arrangement of the tables, so that our entire party could be at one table.  This room adjoined the kitchen, so you could see Matt at work.  After initially greeting all of us, Matt went to work and his delightful assistant served as hostess, sommelier and waitress all evening.  She was positively amazing!  We were pleasantly surprised to find out Matt had prepared our personal menus and placed them in the Allechant menu books. They not only made wonderful souvenirs, but it was nice to have a record of the wines we tasted. After we were seated, we were offered the first of the wines in the white flight.  What was very nice about the wine tasting, is that each taste/glass was brought out sequentially and each guest was asked if they wanted to try that wine.  The appetizers started coming, and one by one the other white wines were offered for tasting. Both the gyoza and lamb meatballs were cooked perfectly, sauces were delicious. Entrees were coming when the offerings of the red wine flight started.  I had the red curry salmon which was cooked to perfection, the sauce was generous and amazing and portion so large, there were leftovers.  My mother had the coq au vin blanc, and said it was absolutely the best she had ever had.  And those having the steak and the gnocchi raved as well. (entire menu in pictures with review).  The food was incredible, portions generous and service was excellent.  Then came dessert; once again, very generous servings, perfectly prepared.  It was an amazing evening.  I can see why Matt asks patrons to book the entire restaurant when the party is larger.  Since he is the chef, he wants to be able to prepare, serve and time every course and every entrée so that no one is waiting, everything is service at the right temperature and is cooked to perfection.  If you are looking to host a special, elegant evening in Ithaca, then Allechant is the intimate, friendly, 5-star restaurant for you.

For mains I tried the vodka gnocchi and the cod stew. Both were excellent! I think if I were to return I would get the cod stew though- it is much more unique. Only complaint about the gnocchi is I wish there was more cheese on top. Desserts were divine! I love how they display them all on the table by the fireplace! We tried the pumpkin cake and the poppyseed coconut almond cake. I truly don't think I could pick a favorite. I wish the whipped cream was also homemade though. The first noticeable thing when you enter is undoubtably the welcoming ambiance, accentuated by the flowers and fairy lights. This place feels like it belongs in Commons rather than Collegetown. Ctown doesn't really have a lot of cafes beyond Cornell campus so I was initially excited for a nice change of scenery. However, I must say that I'm slightly disappointed. The staff were extremely friendly during the times I visited. They offer a variety of reasonably priced drinks such as their homemade fruit juice. I've tried their grape juice and it was VERY sweet -- consider yourself warned! Their kimbap is okay, but I probably wouldn't get it again. Their snack and drinks corner is absolutely adorable and makes it easy for those that want grab-and-go snack or beverage. It's super charming and makes Asian snacks accessible, saving you a trip to the Asian supermarket. As a group study spot, I probably wouldn't recommend it! The area could feel a bit tight.
