My girlfriend and I went here for breakfast and she ordered a Brooklyn Bagel (bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted bagel) and I ordered a Florentine Wrap (spinach tortilla, spinach, "scrambled egg", feta, mushrooms). Her bagel came untoasted, and both of our "eggs" came in the form of an ugly yellow, gelatinous, rubber hockey puck. There's no way that was a scrambled egg. The cheese and the bacon were fine though. My wrap was entirely raw. Every ingredient (except the "egg" probably?) was uncooked. I know some people like raw mushrooms but it just did not mesh well with the cold egg puck and the rest of the chewy uncooked wrap. The feta was good, I ended up just picking out the feta and eating it. We were just so incredibly disturbed by the egg patties. They didn't taste the least like eggs which was especially disappointing given how much they advertised their "farm to fork" policy. I'm pretty sure those were out of a carton or a factory or something. However, we did order an Aztec Winter Shake which we enjoyed a lot. Sweet with some spice, really pleasing. read more

How do you spell customer service? You don't, not here! Either you can wait in front of a cake showcase for quite a while and the staff never bothered to ask why are you here and how can I help you. After I asked for help, I was told in the patronizing way that I should've ordered at the register. Wow, I am not very smart. Thank you Ithaca bakery for doing me a favor and selling me a product. This is the slowest, most overpriced place in Lansing that serves the most mediocre food. Unfortunately it's either Ithaca Bakery or McDonalds for breakfast in Lansing and hopefully this review brings inspiration to someone thinking of starting a Cafe. Ithaca bakery has forgotten/gotten my order wrong too many times. WARNING give Ithaca bakery 30 minutes to prepare the food because otherwise you'll be late for your obligations, otherwise McDonald's is your only other option for cheap breakfast food in Lansing. The Ithaca bakery location in triphammer mall is delightful. My family and I and my parents stop by for lunch. Some of us got bagel sandwiches, some salads. I myself indulged in a delicious homemade eclair, one of the best I've had. In my entire life. I never miss getting One when I am in Ithaca. I also got a coffee which was delicious. I highly recommend stopping by any of the Ithaca bakery locations or College town bagels to pick a bagel with cream cheese or any of their many delicious sandwiches. The Mexican bagel and the Brooklyn breakfast bagel sandwich are not to be missed. We did go there for lunch one day with my parents but we also stopped by several more times during our vacation to buy bagels to eat at home. The Sunrise is an excellent morning bagel- Scrambled egg, Avocado, and Red Onion! Yum yum. This place has a huge selection, it'd be pretty hard to come here and not be able to find anything that you like. read more

Cute place with lots of options. We enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches (sunrise, lox on pumpernickel, and tofu in a tomato wrap). The hot chocolate was not too sweet, but took quite a while to be served as a barista makes it. Oatmeal raisin cookie was good, and vegan blueberry lemon poppy scone was not bad. They also have soups and a salad bar. Just make sure you watch the time because the line can get very long. read more

I've been going to the CTB location at Triphammer since I was a small child more than 30 years ago and have really enjoyed having this location so close to home as they have moved and expanded. I had the worst experience with that restaurant that I've had with any restaurant in Ithaca today. My wife submitted an online order for curbside delivery, I was skeptical about the curbside deliver but they offered it so I figured they would eventually get my food to me. The order confirmation was sent as a screenshot in a text to my by my wife; It said the order would be ready by about 12:40pm, someone had called my wife to tell her that they were out of some bread and that they order would be ready soon, that was at 12:35pm. I arrived to the parking lot at about 12:38pm, called them to let them know I was there and provided a description of my vehicle. By 12:58pm I had not seen anyone and figured I'd walk in and check, I know that location is often busy so I was just wondering what was going on. I walked in and they had almost no one in the store, with 4 people working the front of the store and at least one person in the back, probably more but I didn't see. I saw 3 to go orders in bags waiting, 2 of them were delivered to customers waiting. When I got to the counter to ask about mine the person at the counter walked over picked up a bag that was waiting. I told them that my wife had called the order in quite some time ago, sorry for not being more specific and saying it was an online order, not sure why that matters. I also told them that I'd called about 20 minutes ago to let them know I was there. They handed me the bag, didn't apologize in any way for the more than 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches, handed the blame for not getting the order out onto someone else (she said a name but I didn't catch it), when I confirmed it was paid and walked out she exclaimed "Whoah!" with something else under their breath and was trying to make me feel bad for having spent almost 30 minutes of my lunch break waiting for the sandwiches. Never going back to Ithaca Bakery at Triphammer again. *Update after looking at food* They screwed up the order also, the wife can't eat deli turkey so she requested to sub chicken . . . nope didn't get that right. read more

Delicious and reasonably priced! We got their pepper jack bacon soup, a snickerdoodle and lemon cheesecake, and it was all very good, particularly the soup. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly, and the workers were very friendly. read more

There are good options to order and eat here at the bakery (interior portion). The service there too is friendly and outstanding. At the cafe that you can directly access from the parking lot they serve mostly coffee and some baked goods. Unlike the bakery proper they seemingly get too busy, or maybe just don't staff enough at peak times. They can be abrupt and don't seem to have the same steady commitment to excellent service. read more

Here are my PROS: The location is so convenient for those of us that don't live downtown and it's quite nice to go somewhere with a parking lot. The menu has terrific variety and the bakery case holds many, many goodies. The CONS: As others have mentioned, the service isn't great. It is amazing how uninterested and annoyed the cashiers seem. I don't need the kind of skippy-go-lucky service offered by a smiley, bubbly person, but I also don't like feeling that I've shown up uninvited to a private party when ordering a sandwich at a cafe. I also think the prices are slightly on the high side for what you get. If menu items cost a little less, I'd be more inclined to buy a dessert and a soda with my sandwich, but at $9 for the sandwich, I can't justify getting anything else. read more

This is such a fun bakery! They have most of anything you would want - the typical bagels (large variety of bagel types, cream cheeses, and toppings like jams and PB), bakery items, paninis, bagel sandwiches, grab and go fridge items, and some hot foods (eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy for breakfast hours). They have many coffee options, and several smoothies. Also a solid variety of local cheeses and grocery items. Basically, most anyone can go here and find something they'd like to eat! read more

Waited about 20 minutes after ordering for a microwaved egg sandwich called a Brooklyn. Very surprised they don't cook their eggs and instead use pre-made eggs heated up in a microwave. Out of all of the college town bagels this was is by far the most disorganized and poorly run. Only reason I come here is because it is close to my work and I just get soup cause it is already made and the staff can't mess it up. When I walked in for lunch, the line was nearly out the door, but I was told it was one of the best lunch spots. They did not disappoint! The line moved quickly, and the sandwich I ordered (the Dewitt) was amazing. Friendly service, good prices and a nice lunch spot. I so liked this bakery that over the course of the weekend visit to Ithaca, I stopped 3 times. 1st they serve awesome coffee, lattes, and expresso with 100% free trade Cayuga coffee. 2nd there bagels have substance and are not those fluffy versions from Panera or Einstein's. 3rd they have a nice breakfast buffet selection that you can purchase by weight and service is so friendly. 4th, I like how the compost, recycle and trash waste and all their containers are compost-able. read more

Quality food in a cafe/bakery environment with many college student-type staff. Lots of sandwich options including vegetarian fare. Clean and presentable. I just didn't really get the knock-your-socks off feeling from this place...perhaps price-performance ratio was lower than hoped. Give me a commercial bakery over this place. Super expensive and confusing. I kept rereading the menu to make sure i was seeing the prices right (I was). I settled on three smoothies and a veggie burger panini. The girl with blue hair told me: "we don't have anything like that" and pulled out the menu. Thinking i misread it, I looked and there it was under grilled panini: veggie burger. She goes: "oh, sorry". The smoothie was grainy. Total: $27.00. Ouch. Lesson learned. read more

Just can't get it right..... I've come to this location on more than ten occasions and they have yet to get my order right. I order a "huevos sonara on an open face onion bagel." After paying a premium and normally waiting over 20min I receive a bagel with only cheese and salsa... without guacamole and egg... It's called "huevos" for a reason. So I kindly send it back, and after waiting another 20min they return with a huevos sonara in a wrap... Again without guacamole. They have similarly messed up ten prior times. This is a long overdue review of catering which Ithaca Bakery handled for my grandfather's 100th birthday celebration last October. We had a great experience with Ithaca Bakery, though there were some rough patches at the start of us working together. Once I got to work with Niki, however, everything improved. She was extremely helpful as I worked to arrange catering for a party in Watkins Glen all the way from Oakland, CA. We had a few issues come up late in our planning, and Niki was really helpful in finding creative ways to make everything work. Our server was excellent and really made the event itself go smoothly. And then there was the food! We had a very simple menu of sandwiches and salads, veggie trays, cookies and cakes, perfect for the everyone from the most basic palettes of the young kids (I won't eat anything but white bread) to the most foodie of our guests. The fresh bakery breads were delicious, and we had to ration cake servings--not because there wasn't enough, but because the cakes were so good we had folks returning for thirds and fourths! I would recommend Ithaca Bakery for anyone in the Ithaca area wanting to cater their next event. read more

This location (at Triphammer Mall in the old Hope's Way space) is so insanely awkward that after two attempts, we do not go here anymore. They have you standing in line to order in one spot (where the line goes into a dead-end and you have to squish past people on a busy day to get out of the dead-end of a line). Then, you stand in line again on the other side of the place to pay for your order. It is absolutely asinine. Who designed this space? The food I ordered (a Long Island bagel with margarine -- pretty simple, right?) arrived burnt to a crisp. That is how the food runner delivered my breakfast and did not seem disturbed by the state of my bagel. So, the person who thoroughly burnt my bagel thought it was OK and went ahead and put margarine on it and sent it out. THEN, the food runner delivered it like that? Two people thought a charred bagel was OK. So, the awful design and ridiculous food is not for me. I'll just pass on IB and go to the Ithaca Coffee Company right around the corner at Triphammer Mall. read more

Ah, Ithaca Bakery. Definitely some of the best and creative sandwiches in the area. Large menu and I've never had any problem with customer service at this location. The only reason why I give three stars is that I wish they would use real eggs on the breakfast sandwiches instead of that strange egg patty thing. Tucked in a uniform looking plaza, the menu is overwhelmingly impressive. From pastries and coffee to soups and sandwiches. It just screams yummy and fresh. The people behind the counter are friendly and welcoming. Got the Viva Chelsea! on multi-grain and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were amazing as well as the environment.
