Always a treat to visit New York Bagel! We went in on a Sunday morning around 9am and were able to order right away. We ordered the Skinny Atlas - fried eggs, hash brown, cream cheese, capers, and lox on the bagel of your choice. I went with an everything bagel. Very filling, came out pretty quickly! We also both got coffees - love that it's Coffee Mania! The hot coffee was very hot, iced w/ coconut flavor was good. We were just wishing that there was extra cream available for customers to add. Overall, good hearty breakfast in a fun, busy environment! read more

Boy was this a mistake! First of all, the customer service is terrible - a bunch of girls standing around giving dirty looks. Not welcoming at all. The food is subpar at best. I asked for bacon, egg, and avocado on a plain bagel. I am not including a photo because the avocado looked like baby poop - I understand that avocado browns easily but there are ways to prevent that. The bagel was barely toasted. My iced coffee was very bland and watered down. Total waste of money and we will not be back! read more

Always a great experience here! The owner and employees are super friendly and greet me every time I walk in. The place is very clean and well-kept, which I really appreciate. I can stop in to grab my bagels to go or sit down for a bite -- YUM! There's plenty of seating inside, plus the new outdoor seating, which I love. Prices are very reasonable too. One of my favorite parts is the wall with Cortland State, Yankee memorabilia and photos of people who've come to visit -- it gives the place such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. We went for my birthday, the food was good but the experience wasn't. We ordered 3 acai bowls, they made two of them wrong. When we brought them back we stood there waiting for 5 minutes as one worker was standing there staring at us then proceeded to get on her phone and not help us. Then after they finally fixed our order we could hear the same worker who was standing there on her phone complaining about us when we were quite polite about the whole situation. Again food was good, but don't recommend because the service was trash. read more

I was staying in Cortland for a change of pace and for some hiking and found this little place on main street nice and convenient from my Air B n B. The interior was pretty cute, typical café with tables, chairs, and counter to order at. The staff were very friendly and the food was pretty good as well. I ordered the Hulk breakfast wrap and it was some seriously awesome meaty deliciousness. We also tried one of their specialty coffees and I got their iced coffee both fresh and tasty. Had to grab a muffin as well. Overall good place, good food, and good prices! I'd visit again for sure! read more

The coffee and bagel shop may be small but the variety and tastes of their coffee, bagels and spreads and fresh made breakfast sandwiches and wraps are huge. The staff is friendly and the shop is clean top to bottom. There is limited seating both indoor and out. I have yet to have a bad experience. read more

As a native of Long Island, I am hesitant to try any bagels north of Westchester County. After living in Cortland for two years, I finally decided to try breakfast at Long Island Bagel. Not only was the place packed with customers, but the staff of 7 had no idea how to deal with the large crowd. In fact, it was so disorganized that I could have gotten my food without ever paying. When I was finally given my sandwich after 20 minutes, I was given something completely different from my order. Not only was my order completely wrong, but the staff was too busy to address the issue. As for the bagel itself, it was better than anything I've gotten from a supermarket, but nothing to brag about. If the prices were more reasonable and the service more organized, I might consider revisiting Long Island Bagel in the future. read more

The food and coffee are excellent. However I have often found the customer service to be seriously lacking. On one occasion the absence of communication between the cooks and the barista resulted in me sitting with all of my food (to go) growing cold while I waited almost 20 minutes for my drinks to be prepared. This morning there was no line to speak of (4 other customers the whole time I was there) and yet it took 15 minutes for the young woman to make my sandwich while the young man puttered around at the griddle. She did not take anyone else's order or prepare anyone else's food. She was doing ONE customer at a time at a leisurely pace. After she handed me my prepared sandwich and rang me out she turned to him and said "Oh, can you make her drink for me?" He proceeded to take almost another 5 minutes to make my coffee. I don't mind waiting when they are busy, but this is a special treat I get maybe once a month on my way in to work and I can't afford to be hanging around for 20 minutes. Management needs to impress on the staff that customers at a place like this are getting food to go because they are in a hurry and we don't have time to laze about. read more

Very friendly service, extensive menu, Coffee Mania drinks, and FRESHLY COOKED EGGS. None of that frozen garbage. I got the Taylor breakfast wrap. It was ginormous! Not to mention delicious... and my small coffee was the size of a medium or large at any other coffee shop. The window seats with the comfy chairs were all taken when we came, but there's plenty of other seating in the casual, comfortable atmosphere. If you want anything done differently then how your bagel comes. They will intentionally make you wait. I asked for my bagel toasted with butter and the eggs and the bacon left on the side so I could put it on myself. The girls gave six other people their orders before I got mine. I waited around more then 15 minutes. And when I got my food my bagel wasn't even buttered. When I asked for butter the girl filled the container up with so much butter. I didn't ask for my eggs to be made any certain way so there was no reason to wait as long as I did. They were rude about the simple request I made. I've over debated for a long time what to do with this review bc I try to only leave reviews when I really love a place but this establishment made me feel a way I never have before so I feel like it's my duty to warn others. The positives, their food is actually pretty delicious and very well priced and its conveniently located on main street in Cortland so reasons like that make me even sadder that I will NEVER, EVER go there or give this company my business again. At the end of our visit I placed an order for one cookie and two fancy coffees. The total came to $13. There was no one else in the building at this point and at least 6 people working. A bunch of younger girls and an older man who I assume is the boss. They were all cleaning and after about 5 minutes it seemed like awhile to not have our drinks with no competition. My friend said something after 10 and they seemed to not even believe us when she said we placed an order. The girl that took our order was out taking out garbage but I figured they could just look at their records and see we did buy them. So she makes the drinks and calls them out and ROLLS her eyes at us. I can't make this up. They made us feel like thieves for something we paid for and I'm sorry if we said nothing and paid 13 dollars for a cookie that would be outrageous. I've worked as a barista in the past and if I had ever just completely forgot to do my job I would have been so apologetic and fixed it right away. I've never felt that way before at any establishment and I don't know what happened. I'm very self aware of myself flaws and all but I am an extremely nice person and so is my friend so that wasn't the issue. We shouldn't have had to beg for something we paid for and we shouldn't have been treated so rudely. read more

Absolutely terrible. Had many many bad experiences with them but gave them a few chances to fix it. Picked up an order we sent and every single sandwhich was wrong, once they started to fix it it took an extra 40 minutes to remake them and then one was still wrong. The order was directly on a text message and they still messed it up. They do this quite often and then never once make it up to you by a discount or fast fixing. I was very skeptical at first...being from the city where it is easy to find a good bagel place. But this was quite a find. The bagels were fresh and the staff was friendly. Considering it is run by young kids (college age) it was running pretty smooth. It was a long wait but there was a tail of people just waiting to place the order. I would have to recommend the owner consider a bigger cooking area because the cook was doing his best to keep up. There is a reason this place was packed and the place across the street had NO ONE. I've been here twice and both times there was an issue with my order. The first time I asked for chicken and I got turkey on my bagel and the second time I asked for no tomatoes and no mayo and it seems like I got extra of both. They weren't even busy while I was there. It's always disappointing when I get home and open my bagel to see something I didn't order.
