This bar is named after a drink no one there will make. This is not a real Margaritaville bar if no one can make the namesake drink.

We finally got our drinks about 12:35 and placed our appetizer order. Appetizers came out about 15 minutes later and both were delicious. The Nori mayo makes the corn ribs, definitely recommend ordering them. The spinach and artichoke dip was very good as well, a bit spicy for my kid, no big deal. Our party order: Fish & chips Grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and a side salad Cheese pizza The library burger The cheese pizza and burger were the only edible items. Don't order the chicken breast without getting it Cajun blackened, unless you want a dry non seasoned over cooked chicken breast! The fish were so full of grease they fell apart as soon as you picked them & were inedible. 0/10. After being here an hour, we were getting a bit antsy. Once we had hit an hour and 10 minutes it had gotten to be a bit too much. Our waiter came by and kindly let us a know a table of 12 people were waiting on their food and then ours would be out we weren't in a rush so I guess it didn't matter, but we were beginning to be uncomfortable! The atmosphere is also strange? There are grills outside the front door, flour and other items stacked high in the hallway, soap and toilet paper shoved on the floor under the sinks. It feels very chaotic and unorganized. We were given a discount and key lime pie & a cookie for our "troubles". Even with the discount we were still over $100 for a bad meal.

Decent atmosphere and a nice space, but the experience didn't quite deliver. Service was slow and…read moreinconsistent, and the food was hit-or-miss for the price. It's fine for drinks, but I wouldn't go out of my way for dinner again.

And then there was a picture of a skull lol. It's very spacious inside. Parking is like downtown parking, we parked in the street. My husband's parallel parking skills could've been better. He's too used to his back up camera. You wait in line and order. The taste of everything was solid. It's fresh. The Cajun dog is made with alligator and pork meat. Texture was good. It's messy so eat it with the fork and knife they gave you, which is my mistake. Everything just tastes better when you eat a hot dog without utensils. The paddie melt is also good as well. The rosemary garlic fries had good flavor and same with the onion rings. They happened to just bring us out the loaded onion rings so we were pleasantly surprised. Service is friendly. Very nice place. The portions were actually loaded because normally I wouldn't think I'd be full from the food but it was really filling. I give it a four out of five because it didn't blow me away. But very solid. Definitely give it a try!

But table seating was available. After taking a couple minutes to decide. I chose the shrimp poboy. It was delivered at 12:05, with the tails on. Before I could eat, I had to pull them off. It was fantastic. So I guess I'll be okay. By 12:20 I was cashing out lunch for one $20. They issued a 20% discount for my military id.

So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water.
