Came in at 12:20 on a Friday, restaurant was about half full, we were seated immediately. The hostess took our drinks order and left us with our menus. We finally got our drinks about 12:35 and placed our appetizer order. Appetizers came out about 15 minutes later and both were delicious. The Nori mayo makes the corn ribs, definitely recommend ordering them. The spinach and artichoke dip was very good as well, a bit spicy for my kid, no big deal. Our party order: Fish & chips Grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and a side salad Cheese pizza The library burger The cheese pizza and burger were the only edible items. Don't order the chicken breast without getting it Cajun blackened, unless you want a dry non seasoned over cooked chicken breast! The fish were so full of grease they fell apart as soon as you picked them & were inedible. 0/10. After being here an hour, we were getting a bit antsy. Once we had hit an hour and 10 minutes it had gotten to be a bit too much. Our waiter came by and kindly let us a know a table of 12 people were waiting on their food and then ours would be out we weren't in a rush so I guess it didn't matter, but we were beginning to be uncomfortable! The atmosphere is also strange? There are grills outside the front door, flour and other items stacked high in the hallway, soap and toilet paper shoved on the floor under the sinks. Solid food but nothing special. We looked at the menu online and came to try the duck strawberry salad. It was a Sunday, about noon. On arrival there is a bit of a wait. We can see at least 3 tables that need bussing from the door. Hostess asks how many and then goes off to bus tables. Comes back and starts asking for names for the wait list. OK? Realtively short wait. Get seated and no set ups on the table. No biggie. Order an appetizer. Only doing brunch, no regular menu. Ok. Oder spinach dip app. Out of that and crab cake app. Only 4 apps on brunch menu and out of 2. Get the deviled eggs. We ate them but I honestly didn't care for them. They tasted like vinegar. Not like dill relish, just vinegar. I'm gluten-free and the brunch menu is DEFINITELY not friendly. I got the blackened ahi tuna salad, minus wonton strips, and hubs got the cajun omelet. The salad actually was very good. Only thing that was disappointing was the red onions were not picked, as indicated on the menu. Just fresh. It was very good though. Hubs enjoyed his omelet. Said there was plenty of everything it was billed to have. I had the orbium french 75 too. It was good, but a little light on the Hendricks and heavier on the lemon. Took awhile to arrive too. They seemed very understaffed. Hostess was bussing tables. 1 bartender and maybe 3 waitstaff. You'll notice when they bussed tables to seat everyone that walked in same time as us they stacked everything on a single table. Never seen anything like it! My great grandmother would have gotten up and left. A group sat next to us, after, did leave after an app. Menu led us to think it was a place for foodies. This place is so cute and it was clean! I loved the live music and the environment. However I didn't enjoy the food as much as I wanted to. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't worth it's price to me. The mushroom risotto was a bit undercooked in my opinion. This was also a little more on the salty side. I loved the crab wontons because it actually had real crab in it. My experience wasn't either a good or bad one, but I was a little disappointed. I made reservations for my birthday and inquired about some of their menu items, but they neglected to tell me that none of the items were going to be available because they had a special Valentine's Day menu for that weekend. So I went expecting one thing and was presented with none of the options I was expecting. They also didn't have it posted when you walked in that it was a special menu, not did the hostess or waiter mention it. This is something that would've been nice to know, especially when I asked the hostess and other employees about specific food options and suggestions. And no, this isn't an unreasonable request as several other restaurants I've visited, they have it listed and tell you beforehand. Even if at the least, when you sit down and they hand the menus to you. They even have a marque sign outside displaying their food and restaurant information and it wasn't listed or shown there. The food was ok, nothing really special and the deconstructed ceasar salad was actually pretty difficult to eat. I honestly don't remember what I even ordered, so as I'm writing this, maybe I didn't have the best experience . But other patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves. So maybe my disappointment in the food and the menu versus my expectations are coloring my review. But probably not. I enjoy trying new and different foods and restaurants and not being able to remember what I had tells me it wasn't spectacular. But the atmosphere and ambiance was nice and inviting. This was my first visit. I came in today during lunch/happy hour. The bartender/my waiter was really helpful, energetic and attentive. I think he is the manager or owner idk. The inside of the restaurant and decor is cozy and comfortable , but also clever and somewhat formal at the same time. It reminds me of a combination of Rhino Coffee and The Missing Link. I noticed that there is a beer wall and the bar is FULL. I'm thinking about getting another drink. The bathroom was clean. I ordered the gin bramble. It is super tasty and strong as well. I decided to keep it simple during happy hour along with my drink and ordered a classic hamburger...I'm thinking, hey...if they can do this right then that will say a lot. The food came out really hot I'll be honest, when I was sitting here I thought I would be greeted with a generic burger. But this burger and fries are fresh,hot and spectacular for $11. I am supremely surprised by the thickness of the patty. This is definitely a house made patty, there is too much depth and flavor to it. The lettuce leafy greens and fresh onions/pickles as the topping were a real treat. They're doing something to the fries....the aftertaste is magnificent. I just started dancing in my seat this burger is great. I didn't plan on getting dessert but I am ordering the crème brûlée. (Pictured below) I'm not sure what a proper crème brûlée is supposed to taste since this is my first time having one but this flavor is how I would've described what I THOUGHT it tasted like before trying. First time here and we enjoyed the live music soon as we walked into the door. We started off the meal with some crab wontons that were creamy and cooked very well. Before my meal had the soup of the day French onion and this hit the spot. For mains we had the pork chop and trout crusted with almond. Only suggestion would be a chicken dish for the menu. Recently took my wife to dinner at The Library on Fern on what seemed to be a fairly busy Saturday night December 20th. This wasn't our first time to eat here but the last few times we didn't have the best experience. But on the recommendation of a coworker we gave it another shot and boy are we glad that we did. The service was average but we understood because the place was busy but the quality of the food made up for any issue with service. I got the special which was a small blackened ribeye with a creamy seafood sauce on top. Wow! The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were quite possibly the best I've ever had. Glazed carrots that absolutely melt in your mouth and beautiful tri-colored potatoes cooked in duck fat (didn't even know that was a thing.) my wife had Parmesan crusted chicken with a lemon cream sauce and she ate every bite. The only thing we thought could have been better was that it looked like they were doing some kind of construction and there seemed to be some kitchen equipment stored in the dining room. Aside from that the restaurant seemed clean and had a very relaxed environment. The restrooms were spotless (which seems to be rare in this area) although a bit difficult to locate. All in all we had a great date night with the best food we have had in a while in Shreveport/Bossier City. We will definitely be returning soon and will recommend to anyone asking for a good place to eat. read more

Upon entering the restaurant you're greeted and seated quickly during the latter half of the lunch service. Notice the seating area just to your right after entering. Somewhat reminiscent of a study or library in a home, cool. Now about the food, why else would you go to a restaurant? The lunch menu is indeed different than the dinner menu. I had the French Dip, seems rather regular. But it wasn't. The au jús has a zest to it, really accentuates the sandwich. The beef was shaved, (not deli meat), the bread crispy and chewy, the cheese just right, not overpowering. It came with fries, and the fries here are very good, seemed fresh and dipped, crispy but not overdone. My wife had the fish and chips. The malt vinegar was right, the tartar sauce was like none I've ever tried and really good. This venue has a full bar, several standard beers and local and regional craft brews. The happy hour offerings were not sampled on this visit, perhaps another time. The dinner menu is extensive and I will have to return to try. Reservations are accepted so that means, the seating area mentioned in the beginning of this post likely is utilized during dinner service. Which since I was thoroughly impressed with the lunch service we will return for the dinner menu again, and soon. read more

It was a good burger, but my only complaint is that the patty was not proportional to the bun as you can see in the picture. I still will try again. so disappointing - I'd been excited to dine here for the first time celebrating our anniversary last night. The hostess was very friendly and said she had seen it was our anniversary on the reservation. It was never mentioned again. We didn't know you could reserve a specific table, so even though we had a reservation and it was fairly empty at 6pm, many of the tables we asked for were already set for future customers. I think we were to be set up in the bar at a high top, and the hostess thoughtfully asked if we wanted a lower table (she maybe noticed I'm short?). There was a mixup on giving us the menus, so our waiter asked us for our order before we knew what was available. I don't recall the waiter's name, he probably told us up front but he paid so little attention to us that I forgot it. He had a very nice man bun hairdo, which I complimented him on, but he was not friendly at all and never offered to refill water glasses, take a dessert order, bring another beer for my husband, only checked in with us once to see if we needed anything??? I see today that there's maybe self service beer, but we had never been there before so how would we know? We weren't told about it, if that's the case for beer. Agree with another reviewer that there's weird stuff in the hallways and some sort of large red equipment over by the pizza oven. The food was good but nothing to rave about. My family and I were recommended this by a local because it was in walking distance. We are not from the area so we trusted her and we're thankful we did. I got the fried chicken sandwich (spicy) and it was delicious. The chicken was fried perfectly. It had the perfect amount of coating and it was well seasoned and juicy!! The coleslaw on it wasn't too wet so it didn't soggy up the sandwich. I also got the truffle fries which was a $2.00 upgrade. They were really tasty. Went for the first time on April 1, 2022 to celebrate our 11 year anniversary. My wife and I both ordered the steak (cooked medium). My steak arrives "bloody", turning the whipped potatoes red as the meal progressed. My wife's steak was 2 minutes away from being a belt it was over cooked so much. Wife's meal also was supposed to come with Au Gratin potatoes - whipped potatoes were served. She inquired about this was was told "they must me out" - if they were out, shouldn't we have been told?
