The Library on Fern In my humble opinion: Aug 3,2023 5:25 party of two. There wasn't a wait- so we were seated right away. There's an interesting draft situation. You have to buy a gift card to use at the draft station. Pour your own. I didn't. I chose to enjoy a cocktail. (HH pricing) Black table tops and flowers give the place a semi formal vibe. The kinda spot a teenager could take his date and impress them. (Without breaking the bank) Me n my friend enjoyed several items off the 1/2 size menu and then we split the bill. Came to $50- so $25 bucks a head. ZERO LEFTOVERS. So in that respect it is expensive.

The Library is consistently delicious both at the restaurant and for to-go orders. I'm so thankful to have a nice restaurant like this in our area. If you're going, do yourself a favor and get the truffle fries...you'll thank me later.

Wow this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The menu isn't really extensive which is perfect because the food was delicious. I tried the truffle fries, salmon and the key lime pie. The service was great and the gentleman was truly the best part of our dinner experience. The indoor decor and seating was unique and lovely.

Solid food but nothing special. We looked at the menu online and came to try the duck strawberry salad. It was a Sunday, about noon. On arrival there is a bit of a wait. We can see at least 3 tables that need bussing from the door. Hostess asks how many and then goes off to bus tables. Comes back and starts asking for names for the wait list. OK? Realtively short wait. Get seated and no set ups on the table. No biggie. Order an appetizer. Only doing brunch, no regular menu. Ok. Oder spinach dip app. Out of that and crab cake app. Only 4 apps on brunch menu and out of 2. Get the deviled eggs. We ate them but I honestly didn't care for them. They tasted like vinegar. Not like dill relish, just vinegar. I'm gluten-free and the brunch menu is DEFINITELY not friendly. I got the blackened ahi tuna salad, minus wonton strips, and hubs got the cajun omelet. The salad actually was very good. Only thing that was disappointing was the red onions were not picked, as indicated on the menu. Just fresh. It was very good though. Hubs enjoyed his omelet. Said there was plenty of everything it was billed to have. I had the orbium french 75 too. It was good, but a little light on the Hendricks and heavier on the lemon. Took awhile to arrive too. They seemed very understaffed. Hostess was bussing tables. 1 bartender and maybe 3 waitstaff. You'll notice when they bussed tables to seat everyone that walked in same time as us they stacked everything on a single table. Never seen anything like it! My great grandmother would have gotten up and left. A group sat next to us, after, did leave after an app. Menu led us to think it was a place for foodies. Maybe expectations were inflated because of that. Food is good but not amazing.

This place is so cute and it was clean! I loved the live music and the environment. However I didn't enjoy the food as much as I wanted to. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't worth it's price to me. The service was okay, not terrible. Considering how many people were at the restaurant, I kinda expected the service to be better. Stuffed mushrooms (3/5) Truffle fries (4/5) Crab wontons (5/5) Spinach artichoke dip (3/5) Mushroom risotto (2/5) little on the salty side Tomato basil soup (5/5) Apple stuffed porkchops (2/5) very dry The prevention of the stuffed porkchops was amazing. I wanted to love it but it was on the dry side. I think it would've paired better with garlic mashed potatoes instead of sweet potatoes because the brown sugar glaze on the pork chops is already sweet. The mushroom risotto was a bit undercooked in my opinion. This was also a little more on the salty side. I loved the crab wontons because it actually had real crab in it. For the price we pay, I'm glad it had real crab. Our bill came out to be about $70 per person. I just didn't think it was worth that much.

This was my first visit. I came in today during lunch/happy hour. The bartender/my waiter was really helpful, energetic and attentive. I think he is the manager or owner idk. The inside of the restaurant and decor is cozy and comfortable , but also clever and somewhat formal at the same time. It reminds me of a combination of Rhino Coffee and The Missing Link. Don't worry about attire, I came in with a shirt, basketball shorts, and crocs. There were only about 3 other parties and it is not noisy inside. I'm writing some of this review live so I apologize for the tense switches. The lavender lemon drop is fantastic!! (Pictured below) it was made strong. I noticed that there is a beer wall and the bar is FULL. I'm thinking about getting another drink. The bathroom was clean. I ordered the gin bramble. It is super tasty and strong as well. I decided to keep it simple during happy hour along with my drink and ordered a classic hamburger...I'm thinking, hey...if they can do this right then that will say a lot. The food came out really hot I'll be honest, when I was sitting here I thought I would be greeted with a generic burger. But this burger and fries are fresh, hot and spectacular for $11. I am supremely surprised by the thickness of the patty. This is definitely a house made patty, there is too much depth and flavor to it. The lettuce leafy greens and fresh onions/pickles as the topping were a real treat. They're doing something to the fries....the aftertaste is magnificent. I just started dancing in my seat this burger is great. I didn't plan on getting dessert but I am ordering the crème brûlée. (Pictured below) I'm not sure what a proper crème brûlée is supposed to taste since this is my first time having one but this flavor is how I would've described what I THOUGHT it tasted like before trying. Very creamy and flavorful dessert. The crunch on top is a great touch as well. Really good, comfortable visit. I will come back to try dinner. Last edit on this...very strong drinks I'm having to sit in the parking lot for a few minutes before I drive off lol I will be back

This is a super cute restaurant! It was quiet & relaxing. I love the set up & decor. The staff was nice though service was quite slow. Especially since we were one of the few tables in there. The food took quite a while to make it to the table. Nonetheless, it was good food. The fish and chips were yummy & the vinegar served with it was such a pleasant surprise! The soup du jour was this super flavorful beef stew. The taste was SO good. Huge chunks of beef and veggies. I forgot which drinks I ordered but they were also delicious. I definitely want to make my way back here for dinner.

First time here and we enjoyed the live music soon as we walked into the door. We started off the meal with some crab wontons that were creamy and cooked very well. Before my meal had the soup of the day French onion and this hit the spot. For mains we had the pork chop and trout crusted with almond. Only suggestion would be a chicken dish for the menu. Typically I don't eat pork but it was delicious. Maybe add a strip or a chicken dish into the rotation. Ending the meal my wifey had the creme brûlée that was flawless. Will be back!

The atmosphere was great and with live music. The food was excellent. I had a delicious pizza and the mojito was so so

First I'll say, the drinks tasted off and did not taste like the drink we ordered. Second, the queso itself was not bad but I've had much better for a third of the price. Now the chips was awful, had a stale taste and even some had stiffness. Not exactly a good look for a "highly prestige establishment." I had Caesar salad and it was also not the very best. One bite tasted like a "stink bug" was in my salad. It tasted exactly how it smells. Very gross! The main course was subpar at best my steaks were cooked exactly as I asked but not the best I've ever eaten. I think the best meal out of all was the lobster Mac and cheese that my daughter ate. Everything else wasn't all that great given the price I had to pay, which was $270. One and done for me and my family. Only reason for two stars instead of one was because of the waitress and the restaurant looked really nice, very well kept and clean.

The bar was open so we had a couple. Trivia was getting fired up and everyone was hungry so we left. Back on the following Wednesday we sat in the Continental Room, just off the bar to the left when you go into the establishment. I was thinking...it would be packed. The three of us were the only folks eating at around 6:30 pm. The waiter comes out, asks what we want to drink. Beer for two of us and wine for my boss. I scan the menu and there are a lot of choices in when it comes to steak. Two of ordered the ribeye and my boss ordered the filet. The dining room is small with several tables for a family, some dudes eating after work or a cool place for a date. Maybe a little dated but the service was very good. The waiter was on top of the drinks and the food. Salads came out almost immediately. I had the wedge salad with Italian dressing. Very fresh lettuce and not too much dressing. Everyone else was happy with their salads. I ordered another Yuengling (in a bottle-nothing on tap) and the steaks were out shortly thereafter. The meat covered a lot of the plate. I ordered medium well and it came a little under done but was still very good. Bang for the buck you can't do better. The au gratin potatoes were ok. I have never had potatoes like that before. I would try them again. The Cub itself has been there since 1939. Definitely a dive bar feel. Brick building, solid and well built. Definitely will try for a repeat if/when I'm back in Shreveport. If you're in town give them a try. Service in the Continental room is very good, food is of good quality and not too expensive.

Upon arriving, to my surprise, I found this place to be right next door (the 2 places share the front patio area). I later learned that both places are under the same ownership; M.A.'s Smoke House is the more typical cigar shop while this place is more of a lounge. While they have overlapping hours at certain points of the day; the difference are worth noting. For openers, while they are great choices, this place has a smaller selection of cigars. That said, as I was told, for a greater selection of cigars to M.A.'s Smoke House before they close and then come over here to enjoy your smoke. And enjoy I did, Havana Sports & Cigar Bar has a fully stocked bar which serves craft cocktails. If bourbon, whisky, etc. isn't for you, they also have several beers on tap. The bartenders were both friendly and great at what they do. As if this wasn't enough, this place has pool table which was well kept. There is also plenty (and by plenty, I mean a significant amount) of indoor seating which includes tables/chairs along with comfy couches and chairs. If sitting indoors is not your thing, there is a nice sized sidewalk patio with plenty of comfortable seating/tables. As previously mentioned, the patio is shared with M.A.'s Smoke House. Lastly, there are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity (i.e. walking distance) which makes it easy to make a great evening/night by dining first and then stopping here for and after dinner cigar and cocktail. If you live in the Shreveport area and want a great spot to chillax at; this is it. If you're just visiting and looking for a great chillaxin spot; look no further as this is it. I look forward to stopping in on my next visit to the area.
