Great atmosphere and service. We don't usually like live music when we eat, but this was too much fun. We ended up there because several restaurants in the area close at 8 p.m...on Saturday...which is weird. But we are so glad we found Noble Savage. We had the boudin eggrolls and they were amazing. Then we had the Savage Bowl and the muffulletta with a cup of gumbo. Everything was so yummy. I'm not sure I've ever said that before. But, no notes to the chef. It was spot-on. The waitress seemed either overwhelmed or just didn't have any urgency. She forgot our drinks, got my drink wrong. Took 30 minutes to bring out a queso appetizer and it was not hot and wasn't cold either. Tasted like it was ready and sat in the window and got cold. It took almost an hour to get two burgers and a fried shrimp poboy. The shrimp on the sandwich still had tails. So you had to remove the tails before up could eat the sandwich causing the breading which was very tasty to halfway fall of. On my burger the waitress asked for a temp. I requested medium well it came out closer to medium rare. I requested sweet potato fries and got regular which were replaced. I was disappointed to pay $80 for this meal and didn't send back because we were already ready to go and extremely frustrated. While the waitress did apologize it did seem like she was frustrated with the kitchen and I'm not sure who dropped the ball here but really disappointed. I'm a chef and foodie and was really excited to try out this restaurant but after this I don't think I would recommend our return which is really unfortunate. Parking is limited to the street and I had to park down and around the corner. Short walk from the restaurant. 11:36 party of 1. I chose to sit at the bar. But table seating was available. After taking a couple minutes to decide. I chose the shrimp poboy. It was delivered at 12:05, with the tails on. Before I could eat, I had to pull them off. It was fantastic. So I guess I'll be okay. By 12:20 I was cashing out lunch for one $20. They issued a 20% discount for my military id. read more

When in Shreveport on a Monday, your dining options are...limited (unless you fancy a casino dinner, which we did not). So, we ended up here--the only place open that wasn't serving up blackjack with a side of fries. First up: water. Now, if you've never had Louisiana tap water, let me tell you--it tastes like someone steeped a bag of potting soil in it for 12 hours. I was about to blame this restaurant until a little Google dive informed me that most of Louisiana water just tastes like this due to geosmin and MIB (algae bloom byproducts, apparently). Fun fact that nobody asked for, but here we are. Anyway, we pivoted HARD to cocktails. I ordered a Belvedere martini, which was well-made by Dustin but oddly expensive considering this wasn't exactly a swanky downtown hotspot. For dinner: Hubbs went for shrimp fettuccine, and while it was fine, it didn't exactly make us want to write home about it. I, on the other hand, ordered Natchitoches meat pies, thinking they'd be the real deal imported from the famous place there. Oh, how naive I was. Instead, they were sad little impostors, baked instead of fried, and just...meh. Final bill: almost $100 for four drinks and two average entrées. If we're dropping that kinda cash, I'd prefer a meal that didn't require an emergency cocktail switch just to recover from the water. read more

Meal was returned to kitchen due to taste and smell. Requested new menu item Told they would charge me for new item-expected- and 1/2 the price of the menu item returned to kitchen! Said it was their ":unposted policy." Of course it's unposted brcause if it were, no one in their right mind would eat there. Chef was rude. Owner refused to talk to us. Didn't have the best experience here but in their defense they had an event going on which I'm sure created chaos for them, so I want to come back to leave a more realistic review maybe next time. But my experience was this: We Walk in and there's ALOT going on, we're not sure if it's an open event but then the owner pops out of no where and says the restaurant is still open, so we sit at the bar and a young bartender takes my drink order but never took my husbands drink order (he was still seeing what they have when she first asked but she never asked him again even after delivering my drink) another bartender came to take our drink order but we felt weird having another bartender take care of us when one already took half our order, we wait for awhile and decide she's not going to notice us again so we go back to the bartender that offered and apologized for our confusion. He took our order and thought we were with the event and apologized and gave us menus after I asked for them. We order some Brussel sprouts which I thought were just okay (just my honest opinion, don't mean to be rude) HOWEVER I really wanted to try the real stuff on the menu (the main course) because I bet that's where it gets good! My husband eventually gets a second round from the 1st bartender and she hands him a slimy beer bottle, she knew it too because she covered it in napkins and handed it to my husband and when a napkin fell off he touched the bottle and was immediately done with the place before we could order an entree. So we unfortunately left due to the overwhelming crowd from the event and lack of service from our bartenders (who we're definitely working hard for the event just not the actual customers, or at least us customers that have trouble speaking up and demanding service ) . Next time we'll be checking their FB to make sure no event is going on if we do try again! read more

After a day of record shopping in Shreveport I decided to fire up Yelp to look for a spot where I could chill, eat, and have a few beers. I stumbled upon The Noble Savage and even lucked out by finding parking right in the street in front of it. Free parking on the weekdays after 5:00PM too so you really have no excuse to not come in after a long day of work or hanging out at the casinos down the street. Upon walking in I noticed the large stage with a band starting to warm up. I also noticed there were two sections - one area with tall bartops and pool tables and the other side with booths and open seating/bar area. There is definitely plenty of seating for a large group on either side so take your pick. I chose to sit on the bar side by the open booths area and received a menu from the bartender before I could get settled in to seat. Service here is spot on. I was taken care of before my beer glass was empty. The bartender was so sweet and made recommendations to me on local beers that they had on tap and highly suggested a few items on the menu to eat. I opted for a red local ale and paired it with the fish and chips. Food was amazing! Fish and chips was super flavorful which does not surprise me as this IS Shreveport so they definitely know how to do seafood right. Beers were excellent too and even though I cannot remember the name of the beer I was having it doesn't matter. I suggest asking the bartender what she suggests as the beers she recommended were fantastic. She even asked me what beers I prefer and met me halfway with the beers she had on tap. I was sad I never got to hear the band as I could tell, from their warmups and mic check, that they were going to be excellent. OH MY GOSH!! this place. delicious. I went in not really knowing what to expect... I thought it was "just a bar" when I got invited to brunch.. I was SHOCKED! the brunch was so good! Our table had Shine's Savage Bacon, Blueberry Lemon French Toast, beignets, and the Smoked Salmon Benedict. andddd of course some Mimosas. SO. FREAKING. GOOD. I will be back. The servers were delightful. The bartender was amazing. They were also hosting a shower there, and it looked so pretty!! We went for the first time a few weeks ago on a Friday. The service was amazing. Specially drinks were next level! The food was even better. I had the hot bacon salad with grilled shrimp and literally craved it for two weeks until we went back this past Thursday. The service was slow with even less customers than on the previous weekend visit. I ordered the same drink I had previously and it wasn't even the same quality or taste. I ordered this salad again because I had been craving it. Not once, but TWICE the salad came out with RAW shrimp. The waitress even apologized and said "That's something she (The Chef) struggles with fish and seafood". I finally just got the salad with no meat after it came out raw again. That was very off-putting for me. With our appetizer, we ordered extra wonton chips that the food runner dropped on the floor and never brought out new ones, yet we still paid for them. My original isn't would have been 5*, which is why this review has two stars. I'm going to give it one more try- and report back. read more

The worst service I've had in a long time. I visited with a group this evening. Drinks took at least 40 minutes. My food took 2 hours with no explanation and server seemed annoyed at me when I asked about it. The server had cleared everyone's food in my party when mine arrived. She didn't apologize for how long mine took or explain what happened. Two hours seems excessive for average food. Totally ruined the experience. Will never return. read more

They had a live band playing when I visited, and it was so loud, you couldn't even hear the person next to you. When we tried to let management know, they said there was nothing that could be done.
