I had a disappointing experience at this Drybar location that left me feeling really discouraged…read more I came in for a wash and blowout and requested the "Southern Comfort" style with as much volume as possible -- big, bouncy curls. I also explained to my stylist that I'm currently recovering from major surgery and was only four days post-op, which is why I came in for the service since I'm unable to wash my hair myself right now. My stylist was very sweet, but the service itself felt rough during the wash and blow-dry. When the blowout was finished, I was honestly shocked at how underwhelming the result was. There was barely any curl, very little volume, and my hair was frizzy and poofy rather than smooth and polished. It looked nothing like the style I requested or what I've received at Drybar in the past. Because I was already feeling lightheaded and exhausted from surgery recovery, I didn't have the energy to address it in the salon and decided to just go home. However, I called the salon shortly after leaving to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the conversation with the manager, Bailey, made the experience even worse. She immediately came across as defensive and cold rather than empathetic. She told me she would call me back before the end of the day, but I never received a call. During the conversation she questioned why I hadn't said something while I was still there so another stylist could fix it, which felt dismissive given the circumstances I had already explained. I understand that things don't always go perfectly with services, but the way concerns are handled makes all the difference. The lack of empathy and follow-through left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed enough that I will not be returning.

Went there this past Sunday for a blow-out and full makeup with Selena. This was my first time…read morehaving a blow-out, ever. My hair looked wonderful leaving the salon, however two hours later, at an outdoor wedding, my hair completely went flat again. Not sure if the blow-out was meant for me or my hair was too thin to stand the humidity (yes there is humidity in AZ). Loved the look she gave me, very natural and close the pictures I showed her. She was very sweet and hard-working. My makeup looked great for about 2 hours, and then with the wedding being outside, and it was hot, and the makeup on my face did not stay put. My face got sweaty and oily. I did not know that airbrush makeup was available and would have opted for that. I love the concept of primp and blow, and they definitely offer a much needed service for us ladies who need primping for an event. The salon is super modern, and clean. Overall my stylist did well, but I don't think a regular blowout is for me, as I have ultra straight hair and it doesn't style well in curls or rollers.

I always enjoy my blowouts and makeup appointments with Selena, Carrie and Maya. They're detail oriented and just great people! Tip: if you're new, please openly communicate with them and show them pictures of the look you want. I always bring pictures of what makeup I like or communicate that my scalp is sensitive and they're more than happy to customize the service to my needs. HIGHLY recommend!!

I got a Groupon as I always wanted to try a Head Spa. There were flags I ignored during the attempt…read moreto call to book and it said the subscriber doesn't have a voicemail box that has been set up yet flag #1. I was also asked to text my voucher which I did and it was confirmed that it was received. I get to my 60 min appt today (11:30am) and I was asked for it again & told it wasn't in the system. That's flag #2 as it was confirmed via text with a male (who also says he's the Receptionist & part owner). I was looking forward to this as life & my job is very stressful. Michelle did my treatment & asked if a trainee (Hannah) could watch. I said as long as it's (the experience) is quiet aka relaxing I'm fine with that. Apparently Michelle is the other part owner & she's the 'Master Aesthetician'. The treatment went well/relaxing for the most part I don't say anything during my treatments in general since there's a level of "reasonability" and things happening during manual manipulation treatments in general, e.g. hair pulls, pokes, etc. So when I felt her pinch my left eyelid during the part where they have a hot towel on your face and they massage your face, I didn't think anything of it as I'm sure she 'didn't mean to' since there's a towel on our faces at this point as customers. Things happen right? I also have a high pain threshold. The spa water thing that moves also bonked me in the head when it rose up to the top of my scalp. Again, would I say anything, no, but I was going to ask if that was normal when I left. Fast forward to when she takes off the towel for the finishing moves of the treatment, she asked me if it was mascara or a mole (she was referring to my left eyelid). I was thinking, huh? but I said probably mascara since there's always some residual even after taking make up off at night. I didn't wear any make up or products on my face when I arrived today since I. knew they were doing a facial treatment. When I touched my left eyelid, it was a raised bump. I was thinking what is that?? I look in the mirror after I got dressed and go in the hall to see Michelle and Hannah with a bottle of water (8 oz). I said this was not there when I came in. Michelle's approach was not one of concern, it was deflection. When I told the front desk male about it. It was again met with out any concern. He did take a photo of my eye but said I'd need to take it up with Michelle (the one who did the treatment & is the other part owner). I also said he spoke to me when I came in (I was the only one there at the time), I said you saw this wasn't there before. I even showed a picture I took last night where it wasn't there. He said 'we can't go by that we'd have to go by the camera (he pointed to the live camera surveillance). I said ok, it would show it there too. Michelle comes out and I'm met with more ignoring of what happened. I said what can be done? Or is nothing done about something like this since we sign a waiver? She said she didn't do anything to cause that. I again said it was a pinch of my eyelid during the hot towel part. She proceeded to say "you didn't say anything at the time". I said, I wouldn't and normally don't. I also said I didn't expect this to be on my eyelid. I also said I talked to you, him, and Hannah right before going into the treatment room, this wasn't on my eyelid before. She said she didn't notice. She also said this hasn't happened before, this is the first time. I was met with a room of stares and no accountability or care or concern. It was a lot of gaslighting, ignoring, and unethical responses to a very visible injury to my eyelid. I was surprised (but not surprised) that the trainee said nothing either. The more I think about it, the treatment its very much done without anything on our faces so the aesthetician is looking at our faces and even using tools on our faces. It is and should be very clear (especially by her reaction/words after taking the towel off at the end-"is that a mole or mascara"), that this dark raised bruise/blood blister looking thing on my eye was NOT there before I laid on that table. It's also telling that when I got home to my boyfriend he said "oh my god what happened", and I told him everything. He also saw me right be3fore I left for my 11:30am appt which was 11:20am. I said I wanted my 2nd Groupon cancelled since I don't want to come back based on this experience (the gaslighting and ignoring of what clearly happened during the treatment - non intentional it seems). They said I'd need to contact Groupon which I did and they handled it for me. The male front desk person/part owner has a photo on his phone, I have one too and I sent it to Groupon immediately after getting in my car. Accountability (it's reasonable to expect this) is half of the issue for what seems to be an unintentional injury, the fact that didn't happen & I was gaslit, is the worst of all. This is flag #3.

My girlfriend picked up a Groupon for Heads Up! Spa because she loves head massages--it's always…read moreher favorite part when we get massages together--so the idea of an entire head-focused session seemed perfect. She left in a good mood, feeling relaxed and happy. Unfortunately, things changed when she got home and noticed a large blood blister or bruise-like mark on her eyelid. She told me that during the face massage portion, the therapist had placed a towel over her face and pinched her eyelid. She felt it when it happened, but didn't say anything in the moment--just assumed it was a minor discomfort like what can occasionally happen during a massage. After the session, when she saw the mark on her eyelid, she brought it up to both the massage therapist and someone who appeared to be a part-owner. Instead of apologizing or even acknowledging the incident, both were dismissive and completely avoided responsibility. They claimed it must've already been there and implied she was mistaken--basically gaslighting her instead of showing any concern or accountability. Now, we understand that accidents can happen--what really matters is how a business handles them. In this case, there was zero apology, zero ownership, and no offer to make things right. The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is because she said the head massage itself was relaxing and well done. But the lack of care and professionalism after causing visible damage to a client's face is unacceptable. We won't be returning.

I've…read morebeen going to kiara for about a year however recently had a poor and unsatisfied experience. I have booked a full highlight and left the appointment with a partial. When we were consulting about it at her salon, we only discussed about a haircut and how bright I wanted my hair. I told her I wanted to be very blonde and she told me that we won't be able to achieve that this session and will be achieved the next time i come in. "Highlight" wasn't mentioned once. Keep in mind I had booked a full highlight on her website and got confirmation of this through my email and phone number. I messaged her about this situation and she was defensive and we ended up talking over the phone about it as well. She didn't apologize until 12 minutes in nor did he apologize over text. If I felt like the situation was handled correctly and the vibe was good I wouldn't be writing this review. However she was handled poorly and I don't feel obligated to go back to her again. I didn't appreciate the way she talked to me as person or especially as a returning customer. It seemed very disrespectful and unprofessional. Before this experience she seemed very nice. One thing to note is she does her the chair away from the mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing to my hair. Which given this situation, if I have seen what she was doing I would've questioned this while in the salon. I do feel like she is tough on my hair. I haven't been to someone that pulls and tugs on my hair like this. It was uncomfortable. I think i've gotten my hair done by her 4-5 times because of the price, I thought she was nice, and did my hair ok (minus tugging on my hair a lot). Also one thing to note is on her website it says for a full highlight it's $125 however that doesn't include toner. So my partial was $125 even though on the website its stated it's $95. Since there isn't many descriptions on what your actually paying for, I wanted to point out that as well. I've been to 4 other salons and it was clear on their websites what your exactly paying for. That was confusing to me recently when I went last.
