They got it done really fast. And the price was incredibly good for a rush. My picture came out fantastic and was very much loved. I've brought a number of pieces into Cathy at her shop on Ferry St. She is wonderfully interesting and very artistic. She has reframed an original Schoneberg for me and did an amazing job! I've also brought her two original maps dating back to the mid 1600's. One of which the glass in the original frame was broken by an art dealer while he had it for appraisal. She carefully made sure that the map was removed, rematted in correct matting and repaired the frame and placed a higher quality glass near the map to preserve the piece. If I could give this place zero stars I probably would. The only reason I'm giving it one star is because I have to and The items I dropped off to be framed did look good when I picked them up. I dropped off three items to this location when I was about 7 1/2 months pregnant. One of the items was for the baby's nursery. I asked the owner, I believe she was the owner, to please contact me before conducting any of the work to ensure I was OK with the price. Months and months went by, and I received no call from her. The store is only open on the weekdays, so when I went by on the weekend to check on my items, no one was there. Finally, I was able to get downtown during the week to check on my items after I had driven by and seen one of my items in the front window. It was the same photograph I had brought to the store for the nursery. I had never received any phone call regarding any of the work, but it had already been done. When I went into the store to collect my items, the invoice for the three items was almost $700. The owner of the store was not there and the woman who was working at the store was absolutely clueless. She could not even find my invoice. I had to find it for her. Had I not found it for her I would not have even been able to pick up my items. Two of the items I had dropped off were irreplaceable so I had to pay for those items. It was almost $450 for those items. I was forced to pay it in order to take what I had dropped off. I left a note for the owner to please contact me to discuss the outrageous price and the picture I left behind. It has been over a week and I have not even heard from her. The work that was done was quality, but in no way did it warrant the astronomical cost. In addition, the woman working at the store, alluded to the fact that perhaps if I "worked on" the owner, she's a nice lady, and would come down in price. Was I supposed to basically come back and haggle for my items? Why was I not just charged a reasonable price to begin with? Lastly, since the items were so outrageous and price, I had to use my credit card. In order to do that, the woman had to ask the man who runs the store next-door to come over and run my card. This place is a racket. This is what I get for trying to help out a small store in the local community. read more
