Fav Items: Butter Chicken Pizza -- Not only are they one of the few to do butter chicken pizza well, this is legit one of my favorite slices of pizza in the area in general. They also give butter chicken sauce on side for extra flavor. Chicken Malai Kebab -- Perfectly marinated & tender. Comes sizzling with green sauce on the side that kills. It feels like a creamy smoothbite that also has great chew,. Could easily eat multiple, some of the best chicken. Guac Chaat-- Really well executed that feels like chaat meets nachos and honestly can be quite addicting. Imagine a crispy creamy nachos with a bit of extra flavorful tang. Lamb Naan Tacos -- really enjoyed these, lamb seasoned really well and theres a tangy sauce they come with. The fluffy naan as a taco vessel works well here. Butter chicken version is likely also good. Lamb Birria Biryani -- Also very addicting, especially if you use the raita and other curries/sauces to mix. Also can come in higher levels of spice which is great -- Aside from the food the service is always on point and the spot has a great deal of space. Honestly, this was a surprisingly good place to check out. The idea of Mexican and Indian fusion was interesting. We were expecting a hole in the wall but legit a building on its own and parking lot. Very brand new construction. Deceptively huge! Walk right into the bar area and then you get a sneak into the dining area on the left but then you can keep walking and it kept going and opening up to make seating. Plenty for large and small groups. Dimmer lighting for romantic dates if needed. Service was quick, friendly, easy. Overall our experience was a good one. Food was good. Cheesy garlic naan not exactly as we envisioned but still good. Korma bowl was spicy as we wanted it, sometimes other places give the spice scale and it doesn't match what is expected. Next time, we'll have to try the really spicy! Plenty of protein in all the dishes. The gulab was interesting, I remembered my previous tries tasted different but it's definitely a sweet dessert. The restaurant is in the outskirt of the Fox Valley but well worth the drive, just minutes from East Appleton. The ambiance is classy and private. Service was attentive. The food was superb, portions are generous. Best of all, reasonably priced. Wine choices were extensive. I had the chicken malai tikka, and my wife had the coconut korma bowl. Both excellent choices! The Lamb Tikka Tacos! So much food! We started with the Cauliflower appetizer...delicious...as well as the chicken naan nachos...had I known how delicious the nachos were going to be, I would have just ordered it for my dinner (I did not regret ordering the Lamb Tikka Tacos though). Brody is the best spirited server! The General Manager, Alexia, came to our table to check in on us; but also provided an excellent recommendation for a second drink. If you like spice and can handle it, the "spicy" is perfect! It doesn't make you sweat, but it will make you dab your nose once or twice...perfect level of heat for someone who enjoys a good sweat every now and then! I had called to make a reservation 2 weeks ahead for 9 girls. We got seated right away from Alexia. She was so sweet and nice. Asia- our waitress came to order our food and she recommended the chicken malai tikka, and the chicken was 10/10, well- seasoned and full of flavor! It was not dry and was very tendered. We also order the cheesy garlic naan and panner pakora and that was also delicious. We also order the chicken tamales and it was pack with alot of meat and sauce. Not dry at all. My sister brought me here and this was 10/10! It felt very fancy but we went in casual clothes. We could not decide so we got the Chicken Nachos with Naan which was the heart of the whole meal I think. Sooo good. We also shared both the Elote pizza and the Falafel Burrito. They were both so so good. The pizza came with the tikka masala sauce for dipping and honestly made me want to try that next time. It was so tasty! I can't believe there are so few reviews here! I need to go back to IVR, there so many dishes I want to try here!! The 3 of us loved our food. We had butter chicken, a burrito and a falafel, simply scrumptious!! I really like the mixture of seasonings being used in these dishes. I want to try more Indian inspired dishes and they have a nice big bar to have a beverage. Basically, the only Indian restaurant in Appleton doesn't appeal to me because there is no bar. Very different flavor profiles. A unusual mix of Indian, Mexican and Mediterranean food. We ordered a number of different dishes and shared them. The most balanced and best tasting in my opinion were the pakoras. The biryani was over seasoned and left a grainy texture in your mouth. The lamb pizza on naan dough was good but very heavy. If all you need is a "yes, you should go" there it is. Need more? I've got you. Today is a Saturday and my crew have a tendency to venture out for lunch early before the crowds. We recently saw info for IVR and decided to check it out. They opened at 11 AM and we were one of 3 tables right away. Side note, IVR stands for International Variety Restaurant if you are curious. Visually the ambiance is beautiful and clean. Crisp black, marble, nice glasses and the local favorite gambling machines in the bar area are there for you. Food? The menu is not at all overwhelming. We chose the all popular garlic cheesy naan that came with tikka dipping sauce, the honey garlic cauliflower, the birria pizza and our son got a cheese pizza. Everything is made to order so it's fresh which is wonderful. The flavors explode in your mouth and we loved that we had a few different flavor profiles all in one meal. The service was attentive and educated, we asked quite a few questions mostly out of curiosity but we were happy. We don't have anything else like this in the area and we left happy! If you love flavor and love food you need to go! At the end, the owner asked if our son liked mango and disappeared to return with what he called Mango Lassi. We celebrated our 57th anniversary at IVR and had an excellent lunch. We chose IVR because we had eaten there before and loved the food. The biryani and cocoanut korma were fantastic.
