This is absolutely my favorite dive bar in all of DC. I may be slightly bias as a Michigan native and former Chicagoan, but this hole in the wall place exudes fun with its great eats perfectly nestled in the Shaw neighborhood. With Bell's brewery on tap and a menu of Detroit and Chicago inspired eats, it definitely makes it challenging to pick from the small but amazing menu selection. I typically will order a Bell's or Two Hearted along with a Detroit style pizza. The portions are huge often leaving me with leftovers for a few days. The cheese curds are also top notch. There is nothing better than having a slice of home in DC, and all of the staff are truly the best qualities of Midwest nice. I know I'll be back this week. Cheers!

    Chili cheese fries

The chili is amazing! Goes great on the fries and perfect for a hot dog. Prices are very reasonable and affordable too

I was in DC for work. I'm a die hard Bears fan and looked up a spot to watch the game. Ivy & Coney was the spot! Excellent fans. Excellent staff and excellent food options. Also happened to be a wild f'n Bears game

This place is incredible. The food. The vibes. The drinks. Can't wait to go back. I'm from Chicago so I have good Italian beef judgement- this place is legit- Chicago girl approved

We stopped by Ivy & Coney for a Hanukkah pop up event. I'll admit that I was a bit confused, but I guess it was a Hanukkah and SEC Championship popup event. . Overall, I enjoyed myself at this delightful dive bar. The space is a bit small, but there are two separate bars inside. One cool thing: you don't have to open two separate tabs because one tab works for both bars. Actually, I'm not sure if the bar typically is super packed on Saturdays or if this was due to college football. The Black female bartender with locks was absolutely amazing. While they have a nice selection of canned beers, I only saw two draft beers in the front bar. I probably wouldn't travel very far to visit, but it's a great spot to folks in the neighborhood to have an easy breezy beverage or four

Doesn't really get much better than Ivy and Coney for your classic dive bar choice. The staff is always friendly, same with the customers. I started coming here fairly regularly during the World Cup, and the vibes are always good. The food while maybe not being the biggest draw for people, I think is actually really good. I always get their cheese curds, but have tried everything else at least once and you won't be disappointed by anything... assuming you wanted a burger or pizza type food

One of my favorite easy going bars in D.C. Friendly bartenders and no-nonsense sports bar scene. My friends like the Chicago style dogs here. I'm more of a pizza gal. Their Detroit style pizza is great too and even better when they have it on special on Mondays. Grab a beer or mixed drink and chill out with some friends or by yourself while watching some sports (or not!).

    Hot dogs and Curly Fries

One of the coolest sports bars I've been to in DC. The decorations are really cool and they play audio from the game on the main tv screen which is always appreciated. The hot dogs and fries were delicious. Friendly servers and bartenders as well. Good vibes all in all.

I walked by the door a couple times trying to find Ivy and Coney, I had not been since before the pandemic. Attended networking event on a Thursday, good space inside and upstairs (heaters on the rooftop). Friendly staff and good beer options - if you are in the mood for a pilsner, I recommend Three Floyds Speed Castle. My colleagues enjoyed the food but I didn't try anything.

This location is in the heart of the city so even if you care to walk around the city at the end of beginning of your trip to S&S, you're in a good mobile area! Other eatery and entertaining spots are all within walking disance. Parking to address, was bad. There are SOME parking lots in the surrounding areas but verrrry minimal, so I would advise Uber'ing in or carpooling with friends. My party of 3 were lucky to have gotten a spot right outside of the entrance. Sidebar, because the Super Bowl and other sports are in rotation now, I would 100000% advise parties over 2 to make a reservation, as its the most helpful to guarantee a spot. See Open Table for reservations - that was where our plans were arranged. See attached pictures for the food we ate and enjoyed - the wings (mine were mumbo and buffalo), fries, and crab dip.

My friend hosted a happy hour there, and I love when events like that introduce you to new spots. The drink specials were honestly amazing with $6 drinks, which is hard to beat. The food specials ended at 7 while the drink specials continued until 8, so I was a little bummed to miss out on that. One thing to note if you're ordering food, the four cheese pizza comes with burrata, which I didn't realize ahead of time. I'd definitely come back to try more of the food, especially the flatbreads since they seem to have a lot of good options. That said, I don't think the staff was fully prepared for the size of our group. My friend brought around 60 people on a Friday night, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed. At times, it took over 10 minutes just to place an order. I don't necessarily think that's the norm, so I'd be open to coming back during a regular happy hour to get a better feel for the service. Great size bar as well.

They are happy to recommend beer for your taste, and let you sample. It can be very busy and difficult to get a seat at the bar or get a table on a Friday or Saturday evening. We ordered food, and were expecting elevated bar food. The tater tots were a huge disappointment- they were very large squares , bland, and not crispy. The wings were okay. The cheeseburgers were the best- from the restaurant downstairs- mallard. Huge burger, done perfectly medium.

I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it.
