I suggested my daughter use this company because I saw they were recommended on one of my Facebook groups. When the owner came out for the estimate, she was very impressed with him. They showed him EVERYTHING that was to be moved with the exception of one thing that got added, but was not a big deal. Also my daughter and myself and my husband loaded our cars and trucks prior to the crew arriving so there was even less to move than originally shown to Steve. Moving day: the crew showed up late stating they put the wrong address in the GPS. We should have known right then and there how this move was going to go. I will add..., I worked for Allied Van Lines as an estimator among other things for over 15 years. I know how a move works. Or should work. They didn't know that the refrigerator doors had to come off in order to get out the door, and after wrapping up the whole thing, they had to unwrap, remove the doors and re-wrap. Total waste of precious time. The destination house has white carpet. They never laid down protection on the floors and tracked dirt on the newly, professionally cleaned carpet! That's basic Moving 101. They should have done that. The one crew member took an hour to put the doors back on the refrigerator, as if he'd never done this before, and maybe he hadn't. This crew argued with one another all day and as it got later and later, the arguing got worse. They didn't read the labels and left boxes where they didn't belong. We were offered an extra man and another truck ( for a cost, of course) and we took him up on the offer thinking this would have expedited the move but that was not the case. When the first truck was loaded, rather than heading out to start unloading at the destination, it sat there until both trucks were loaded. Again, the move would have gone quicker had they started unloading while the second truck stayed behind to finish. The move cost way more than estimated for less items shown. The crew was slow, they smoked in the job and left their cigarette box just thrown on the driveway. My daughter attempted to reach Steve and her messages went unanswered. It took her husband texting Steve two days later to find out he was out of town. I don't understand, don't phones work when you're out of town? As the person who recommended this company, I feel terrible! A moving company is only as good as its crews. Perhaps other customers who were satisfied got a great crew. This review was deleted. If Yelp has a problem you need to contact me. We hired Ivy League Movers to move us out of the home we sold on June 4th & 5th. They stored our belongings in their warehouse until we closed on our new home on June 18th. Our movers were to bring our belongings on the 19th & 20th. They separated our 3-story home into 3 trucks. One truck for each floor. Truck 1 & 2 were to be delivered on the 19th. Truck 2 never made it. It left the road, turned over into a gully then slid 177 feet with our furniture and household goods. Truck 2 held our main floor furniture. Entire rooms of furniture were destroyed. Our master bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen - gone in a flash. Clothing, rugs, lamps, accessories, and artwork - gone. A week later we were brought the remainder of our belongings from that truck. Pieces and parts that once were functional sofas, chairs, tables. Wet, soggy rugs and clothing. Artwork that survived but heavily damaged by rain and mud, broken frames and punctures. When the moving truck was towed to an impound lot on the 19th our furniture and belongings were left on that truck. The truck roof and sides were ripped open from the accident. Nothing was covered leaving our belongings to sit unprotected while it rained for 6 straight days. What may have been salvageable was completely destroyed by water and mud. It took us a month without exaggeration, to identify and sort through the wreckage we were left with. The real pain took place when we were contacted by Ivy League's insurance company. They have $2500 in insurance for a catastrophic loss (which this was classified as such). And just in case anyone is wondering, we were not offered any additional insurance for this move. We did not have a contract. The one perk we did receive was free storage since the owner of Ivy League is a friend of ours and we appreciated that. I went back to the owner of Ivy League and asked if he would reimburse our $8200 in moving expenses, we would then accept the $2500 offered by his insurance and walk away, but he said he couldn't do it. Our brand new homeowner's insurance company estimated our loss at over $40,000.00. I wanted Ivy League to take some sort of responsibility for this loss. They had care, custody, and control of our household. They wrecked the truck and then allowed what was left on that truck to be destroyed by the elements. I asked them to do something, anything, but our request to Ivy League was denied. I want to thank our insurance agent, Justin Adams of Farmers Insurance for helping us manage this enormous and heartbreaking loss. I especially want to thank Farmers Insurance company for handling this claim with empathy and expediency. It helped a lot. Some may think this is just things, easily replaced. But when you begin to realize that your loss is more emotional because the things that you inherited from your mother or father are gone forever - special purchases you made while on vacation - antiques that you loved and cherished for their beauty and history are lost, these things become irreplaceable and break your heart piece by piece. Accidents happen. All companies have problems. A good company will stand behind their client and do what they can to minimize the damage they created. Do your due diligence before hiring any company. Read reviews and write reviews. It's important for the consumer to know exactly what to expect. I don't think I need to tell you how disappointed we were with the way this was managed. read more

Terrible moving company. They wrap with one blanket and not completely around furniture. They crew fought with each other. They will eat or drink anything left on a countertop. The tried to pull the truck up to the front door over grass and the sidewalk. The packed heavy items on top of the sofas and damaged the sofas. Steve Miller will not call you back when you have an issue. If you want damaged furniture, this is the company. Stay away from this mover! read more

I agree with Jon M's review. Stay clear of this company if you are looking for communication throughout the process. The owner and partner were very communicative during the estimate (multiple phone conversations and back and forth emails) up until they secured our commitment to move forward. Wanted to discuss with owner a major change in circumstances that should decrease time to move before moving started. Could not get a call, email or text from Owner at start of move day or throughout day 1. Start of day 2 and still no response. Responsiveness certainly changed pre and post sale and was not expected. read more

We moved recently and nothing was broken. However, the transparency of the estimate, conduct of the owner and handling of insurance, etc. was unacceptable. The movers themselves were kind and courteous, but then proceeded to get into a yelling match and argument in the neighborhood after the move. The argument lasted 10-15 minutes and was disturbing and unprofessional. The highlight of the move was being yelled at my the owner. Stay clear of this company. read more

I used Ivy League for a local move on a recommendation from a friend. When i called for an estimate, I spoke with Steve. If he isn't the owner, he is an upper level guy and he seemed to really know his stuff. He gave me an estimate over the phone which was pretty right on. I got estimates from 3 companies and it was my call with Steve that sold me on Ivy League. Price-wise, they were right in the middle of the pack. Fred, Eddie T and Brian (Ryan, maybe) showed up right on time. They got to work and carefully managed my things. The crew was friendly and took great care of our things. We recommend Ivy League movers. From the front office team to the moving crew, the experience was top-notch. We had a rather complex move from a home we'd been in for almost 30 years to a new home in a remote gated community. On all three days (one packing day and two moving days), the crew was prompt, hard-working and eager to please. It was good to see the same faces all three days and they went the extra mile to assist us with a number of special items. I was amazed at how fast they worked. Do not use Ivy League Moving, recently Steve had moved a family member and stored their furniture for a year in their facility. When it was time to deliver the furniture, the price has increase to 11K versus the first move of $4K. They also notified us that an expensive $14K motorcycle had been stolen from inside their warehouse. One of their employees stated that it was an inside job. Their insurance policy that they hide in the fine print allows you for a TOTAL REIMBURSEMENT of $300. This means, if they lost all of your family possessions, they would only owe you $300. Steve the owner, quit taking our calls, since he knew the policy he selected was of no value. He took advantage of my elderly parents once he had their furniture in storage and he is likely driving around on their motorcycle. Steve had every opportunity to make it right, but chose to hide and not return calls. Stay far away from this low budget company with basically no insurance and rented trucks. read more

I just used them to move into our first home. They moved 2 apts in Alpharetta and Dunwoody to Cumming. They guys were top notch. They were actually a little early, courteous, and moved quick. They took quality care of all of our things and if we didn't have it packed just right helped tape and wrap it safe and secure. Not as expensive as others I called and not the cheapest. Do not use this company unless you like paying 145.00 an hour for their lunch. I took a good 45 minutes leaving my place to meet them and then waited on them another hour while they were at lunch. They only deducted 15 minutes from the overall time. I had to ask them to carry the dolly up the hard wood stairs as opposed to thumping it up and someone that was not part of the moving company showed up at my home and behaved inappropriately in front of my new neighbors. read more

Used services last year. They get their help from day workers. Although their price was good, the people that did the moving had to be told numerous times to slow down. When they moved us to new place, they damaged several things. Owner neveer owned up to damage and suggested that we couod have made up a story.
