When we got to the smorgasbord, the whipped cream wasn't working/was empty. The workers didn't seem to want to fix it, and once you leave the line you can't re-enter. Pretty disappointing to not be able to get their homemade whipped cream they rave about. For almost $9 for a one scoop make-your-own before tax, it was honestly not a great experience today. We miss the nostalgia of this place - it's becoming more industrialized and less sentimental.

They also offer shakes, sundaes and floats. The prices are kind of high; $9 for three scoops and $1 for a cone plus tax. But, the ice cream is really creamy, flavorful and loaded with chunks, which I like. My friend got a pistachio ice cream and it was LOADED with CRUNCHY salted pistachios... I've never had an ice cream in which the pistachios were crunchy! I wished I had ordered that after I saw hers come out. I got three scoops: campfire delight (s'mores), mocha chip and peanut butter Oreo. I wanted to get the blueberry crumble, but it sold out two customers ahead of me. The campfire delight had a bunch of mini marshmallows and decent size chocolate chunks. The mocha chip had a good coffee chocolate flavor and a nice amount of large chocolate chunks, not merely chips. The peanut butter Oreo had a rich peanut butter flavor. The setting was also great to relax & enjoy our frozen delights! While I was at Weirs Beach during the holiday weekend, I stopped off at Sawyer's On The Pier for a pint of ice cream on a very hot day. I decided to get a pint of the Espresso Fudge Swirl ($7.50 plus tax in 2024) to celebrate summer and the popular summer anthem "Espresso." A week before, I tried to pick up a pint of very limited edition Espresso ice cream at a national ice cream chain shop in Chestnut Hill, MA, but it was beyond sold out for good. The Espresso Fudge Swirl was the next best thing and locally made in NH. The ice cream was hand scooped and packed into a pint container. I enjoyed my pint of Espresso Fudge Swirl ice cream along the waterfront, but it was quickly melting very fast, about half of the pint becoming ice cream soup. Since the pint had a cover, I was able to bring the pint home and put in my freezer.
