Iwona is an absolute magician! She did the alterations for my wedding/bachelorette dresses making my vision come alive, while making everything fit flawlessly. Her expertise and attention to detail is impeccable!!! She literally re-built the dress, taking/fixing in the waist, belt, back, hem, the bust fabric, the sleeves, created an volume under skirt, among a long laundry list of things done. Each visit after a change we'd try it, and she asked me questions I didn't know to ask, which really helped me. The creative process was so much fun! Whether a standard alteration or something more extravagant, Iwona is your expert! *Pictured is the wedding dress.

Corset straps and boning was added on top of expiating ruching. Looked perfect and I feel more secure!

Iwona attempted to take in my new pants. It ended up not working quite right and Iwona made it up to me. Excellent customer service.

I recently brought a strapless bridesmaid dress into Eltsa Custom Sewing to have the bodice…read moretightened. They did an excellent job with the alterations, despite some ruching detail and pockets in the skirt that could have complicated the tailoring. I am very happy with the results and excited to wear this dress for my friend's wedding! I thought the pricing was fair for the work completed, and discounts were provided depending on payment type. They notified me at drop off that the dress would be done in 2-3 weeks, and it was ready for pick up the VERY next day! I will be bringing more clothes here in the future.

Sometimes though if you're like me, far from that, you just need a tailor to repair some clothes. In my case I had a couple pairs of pants with popped buttons. I dropped them off and the lady, perhaps Elsta, was kind. She took my info and told me I should hear back in 5 days and took down my info. She did warn me that if I did not hear back, to call. I understand it gets busy here, the rack when you walk in is loaded with clothes and another with dresses. I came back in a week later as I got busy and was close by coming off work and it was not ready. The lady was very apologetic and told me it would be ready the following day. Sure, enough I got a text the following afternoon to come pick up. The pants were nicely and tightly rebuttoned. Only cost $11 which is less than I expected. So, if I inevitably have to bring more buttons to be sewn or zippers to be repairs, I'll come back.

They notify you that they no longer work on leather items and offer to recycle your garment or send it back to you at your expense. No where on their website or Instagram do they mention that they no longer work on leather. I spoke with Matt the "manager" regarding this and he agreed that the website needs to be updated and that he would get my jacket returned today. Two hours later I get a notification from AmEx that I have been billed by Rainy Pass Repair for a shipping charge. When I spoke with Matt after seeing the charge he told me "that's the way we do business." He then said I could write the owner an email to the general email address and he would forward it. I suppose I should believe him but that might be difficult considering the level of service they appear to provide. It would be like taking your Buick back to the shop that repaired it last month only to be told, "We don't work on Buicks here anymore" even though the sign outside said "We work on Buicks." Beware or don't go there.

They quoted $75 during drop-off (where tailor came out to review and verbally quote to front desk worker), then made me pay $121 for pickup. I understand miscommunication happens but this felt like a racket. In short and only based on my one experience: Quality work, outrageous pricing, and unacceptable business dealings. Shame on me for not making them provide me with written quote at drop off and also accepting their upcharge. I should have told them to keep the jacket but that's not my style. I believe in paying for quality work (which they have) but will not be a return customer due to how they conduct business.
