I needed my brows done. Y'all, it's been awhile since I've gotten them threaded. I was down in the area for work and yelped several spots before coming in. I found this sweet spot. I walked in and first glance everything was clean and chic. There was one other walk-in, but I was seen quickly. The gal who did my brows was Sanaan and she was very thorough! I went in today for a clean up. Instead I came out with a very thin eyebrow and a very thick eyebrow. The woman made them uneven... so noticeable that as soon as I saw myself in the mirror I wanted to cry. She then started to argue with me about how I didn't tell her what shape I wanted. Also, they tell you approximately how long you should wait before coming in again if you need/want to reshape them. Edit**** Came to this place again to get my eyebrows done and they totally ruined my eyebrow shape, cut them short on the temples. See pictures attached I was hoping to get a chance to see IZ, since the reviews says he is the best. He wasn't there and another lady took care of me. She was polite and sat me right away. I find eyebrow threading to be more painful than waxing, but I haven't been able to contact the previous girl who did them for me. Anyway, I asked for a cleanup, because I like my eyebrows thick. I feel like she thinned them out quite a bit, but it doesn't bother me. They gave me back the clean shape to my unruly brows. I would highly recommend this place. Can I start by saying the last Yelp review I wrote was 5 YEARS AGO!! I'm getting on here for a very good reason haha. Back Story: My coworker recommended IZ to me. I started seeing IZ at Beauty by Dolly and always made the trip out to Hillcrest because it was worth it (I live in Chula Vista). I was extremely sad when I found out he was no longer there. Like I mean... EXTREMELY sad. Every time I find a favorite brow artist they disappear! I would keep going back hoping to find a new favorite brow artist, but I was never as satisfied as I was with IZ. The girls at Beauty by Dolly didn't disclose where he went so I just accepted that he was gone... until two nights ago I decided to research "IZ Eyebrow Threading" one more time after talking to my coworker about needing to get our brows done. LOW AND BEHOLD.. "IZ Eyebrow Threading" is a thingggg! My heart was way too excited and my fingers were crossed that this was the IZ I knew. The very next day I decided to drop in. IZ Eyebrow Threading is located in the same plaza as Food 4 Less and Ross (next door to M's Clothing) in old Chula Vista across from the Michaels/Target. Plenty of parking and you don't have to worry about street parking (huge plus). This location is SO MUCH closer to me which is really convenient, but honestly if he moved somewhere further than Hillcrest I would totally make that drive. As I drove by, I looked through the glass window and saw him at the desk.. and of course got more excited. IZ definitely takes his time when he's doing your brows. It also never hurts as much when I get them done with him (note: if it's your first time it may or may not hurt.. I'm used to it by now, but I've still had painful clean ups from other people to the point where my foot will twitch or I'm clenching every muscle in my body while holding my breathe lol). He cleans them up and shapes them perfectly! He also allows you to hold a mirror up and watch him fill your brows in. I'm also going to try using dark blonde on my brows during my makeup routine, it looks so natural! To see his work on me I made a photo collage of a before/after/after fill. Really, the picture can do all the talking. Side note: IZ is a sweetheart! Original pricing for eyebrows is only $12! Seriously more than worth it. And there is a coupon circulating to get $3 off that doesn't expire until December. I believe there's a promo right now as well for drop ins where its $8 or $10. Either way, it's inexpensive and you will receive quality services! I'm excited that he's opened up his own place. This was always my go to place for eyebrow threading but stopped going for a few months after I had a baby. after neglecting myself for months, I walked in for my usual eyebrow threading, but in the heat of the moment, felt spontaneous and wanted to treat myself for surviving the first few months of motherhood (I even told the technician) andI asked her if I needed to make an appointment for a lash lift. to my surprise, she said she could do it right then and there. Naively, and in my sleep deprived fog, I agreed to do it. In the middle of the process I could hear her struggling to setup and locate some ingredient she needed. I started to get nervous as I am familiar with the process and i knew it shouldn't take that long. While sitting with my eyes shut and hearing the shuffling of tools, I realized I hadn't even asked for the price of the lash lift (I know, rookie mistake), but then thought, "we'll, it can't be much more than what I pay at the other place I normally go to." 50 minutes later, she showed me the results. I wasn't impressed. I could BARELY see the difference, unlike what I normally see. It just looked like I had used a light pressure eyelash curler. But, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and thought to myself, "it will look a lot better when I get home." then I went to go pay and to my dismay, was charged TRIPLE the amount i normally pay at my regular place. I ended up paying because I figured it was my fault for not asking beforehand. The receipt had the service listed as "custom" lash job. I was also told to not wash them for 48hrs so I thought maybe after that they'll look better. However, by 24hrs, only one eye had a barely noticeable curl. By 48hrs, it was as if I had never walked into that place. Moral of the story, don't get a lash lift here and always ask for a price upfront. read more

I have been getting my eyebrows done for as long as I can remember. I used to come to IZ eyebrow threading every two weeks when I was in high school, since I've been away at college so I've been trying out other places near campus. I came back because I used to swear by this place. I'm so disappointed by the service and the older lady with blonde hair did my brows and she was very rough and I still had to go home and pluck my eyebrows and finish the job. I'm too shy to ask them to fix it before I get even more disappointed. IZ always does a great job and he wasn't here when I came. If you come here, ONLY go and ask for IZ. Went to the place they did an OK job my eyebrows still had hairs that I have to pluck out when I got home. My sister has also gone in the past and one eyebrow was thinner than the other and they still charged her. Definitely over charge for what is actually worth. Writting this down this review is sad for me. I've been coming here for around 2 years (iz ) the owner has been nothing but nice , attentive & courteous. I went in for a cleaning the lady who I bealive is new made my eyebrows uneven. She had no compassion towards me being hurt by how hard she was threading . She raised her voice at me saying "pull so it won't hurt " .... she was annoyed at me & LEFT MY EYEBROWS UNEVEN. When i saw myself i wanted to cry. I did not make a fuss because i did not want an altercation. It has now been 2 weeks and my eyebrows are still crooked. This was my go to place & i am sad I won't be returning. I hate writing this, as this is the place I've absolutely loved for more than 3 years. I usually look for this lady who is blonde and does hair too, because she is amazing. I really don't know what she is going through right now, but she left me with HORRIBLE eyebrows. They're uneven, she cut the hairs so short, it looks like I have GAPS in my eyebrows, I can't even find a proper way to "fix" them while I grow them out. Ya'll jumped from charging 12 to 18 real quick, the least I deserve is even eyebrows. read more
