We decided to pickup a pizza from here after reading all the good reviews. It was a short drive from our hotel. There was a board advertising the daily special for one large pizza with one topping and 10 wings for $25. We placed our order and paid. We decided to wait inside the restaurant until our order came up. The decor inside was fun to look at. Very eclectic and dated. Music was blaring and there seemed to be a steady stream of customers picking up their orders. I saw one guy filling cannolis behind the counter. They looked amazing. I wish I ordered one. The wait time wasn't bad for walking in to order. I haven't had a New York style pizza this good in a long time. Everything about it was outstanding. Crust, sauce, cheese and pepperoni. This pizza is really good and extremely large. We got 3 (I wanna say) extra large pizzas for my birthday and we had a couple pieces left at the end of the night. The all meat was my favorite and supreme was second. I really wanted some the next day only to find out it was all gone. So we went back and got some calzones. Those things are enormous. It was really good but too much bread for me so I'll stick with the pizza next time but everything we've had here has been really good! read more

I don't venture into Lilburn often, but my friends convinced me to stop by and crash their lunch, even though they had already started eating. That being said, I didn't get to experience the food right as it exited the kitchen, but the food I did eat was excellent. My friend couldn't stop raving about the pizza here. Izzy's is a family run restaurant with some down to earth workers. I was impressed with their supreme pizza, which was chockfull of toppings, without causing the toppings to melt off the thinner crust. The Greek Salad wasn't super impressive to me. Sometimes you just need some veggies to balance out the pizza, but I probably wouldn't order it again. If I'm ever in the Lilburn area again (which is pretty rare), I know this is a solid pizza joint to grab a pie from! read more

Living in New York and knowing what New York pizza is I have a very high standard especially when a business states they have authentic New York pizza. I was disappointed in this pizza as an "authentic New York" style. The size of the pizza was spot on, slice size was spot on, grease was spot on, unfortunately the sauce flavor and crust was lacking. The salad was an after thought so I probably wouldn't order it again. They do offer authentic Mexican Cokes so that was definitely a bonus! I would recommend going to Izzy's over any commercialized pizza place because Izzy's is a pizzeria!! I went there yesterday for late lunch. I saw on Yelp the reviews and thought to give it a try. I ordered a slice of olive pizza and a slice of mushroom pizza (I believe $2.25 per slice plus 65ish cents per topping of choice). I waited about 6-7 minutes before the food came out to my table. Right away I could tell that they used a cheese pizza already made beforehand so all they did was put toppings on and put in the oven for couple minutes. I was disappointed because my food was not fresh and was dry. I wanted fresh pizza from scratch and straight out of the oven with sauce and cheese bubbling. Few hours old to day old pizza... no. The guy working was very nice. The place is spacious with plenty of tables. There is Lion Club Park right next to the plaza- it is a nice park where the trail leads you to the Lilburn Park on Main Street. There is also a gigantic, beautiful Hindu temple on the same street which is open to the public. read more

Izzy's New York pizza is the most authentic I've had anywhere outside of NY itself. The sauce is right on. I ordered the largest pepperoni, mushroom, sausage, bacon, bell pepper, feta cheese, and extra cheese pizza. It was "to die for" and everything was done perfectly. I also ordered a calzone with feta, pepperoni, mushroom, extra pepperoni, and extra cheese. It was also amazing. One of the things I loved about their pizza toppings was that they don't do that ball sausage, that's frozen and you know it's just that grows "Italian" sausage. There is sausage was the finely sliced, really thin just amazing- that juicy...I don't know- it was SO good. The owners really are from New York and from what they told me, they owned a pizzeria in New York at one time, but moved here in order to bring that taste somewhere that it could be fully appreciated. It didn't take them very long to make my pizza and calzone. It only took about 30 minutes and that was with me ordering the pizza at the counter. I love that they have Stromboli's and calzones. Usually, in Atlanta, you have to go somewhere that's a sit-down restaurant and pay a stupid amount in order to get both in the same sitting. I highly highly highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND Izzy's to anyone wanting a taste of NY or just some amazing pizza! read more

Heard of this spot from my instructor for class and decided to buy a couple pizzas for the class potluck! I ordered ahead of time (1 large cheese, 1 large supreme, and 1 large meat lovers) for a total of $60. When I got there, the place was so busy but it was built like a well oiled machine. Orders were going out, an endless stream of pizzas being made, and customers being taken care of at the register. I took it to go, so not much to say about the location itself, but for the pizza: these slices are HUMUNGOUS -- literally the size of your face. The dough is nice, cooked all the way through, and was still crispy almost 45 minutes later (ATL traffic amiright?). I think if I had a slice fresh out of the box from the oven -- I'd definitely give it more than 5 stars. I've definitely never paid this much for pizza but honestly, I was not disappointed at all. Now that is some good pizza. And I was surprised. Because first glances at this place are deceiving. Small, hole-in-the-wall storefront. Old strip-shopping plaza. Staff that probably speaks neither English nor Italian, nor Brooklyn as a first language. But man, the food they make is outstanding. That was some first-rate pizza! Izzy's serves largely what you'd expect from a pizza place. You can order by the slice if you don't want an entire pie. And they also have Stromboli, calzones, subs, salads, bruschetta, apps, wings, and pasta. The spices just smell right, and most everything is made to order. Still, our food reached out table in good time. My slices were generously large, thin crust, NY style pizza. The sauce had a good flavor. They weren't stingy with the cheese, but nothing was overloaded with it, either. I had two slices that day. I wanted a third, but I behaved. I'll be looking forward to my next visit to Izzy's. Great pizza! Past by this restaurant and I had to give it a try being from NY. The sauce was great although I would have liked it to be a little more tomato based, and the crust was a little too doughy. But overall if I'm in the area again i will definitely return. This is a weird review. Placing the order over the phone was simple enough even though I was disappointed that they didn't have delivery. However that's nothing to ding them for. The parking lot was empty with plenty of parking and getting my order was a breeze. I order the 10" pie with black olives and mushrooms. I loved that the mushrooms were fresh and not canned and the cheese was melted perfectly! The crust was thin not by choice but i liked the thinness to it. I also ordered the 6 piece wings with mild and lemon pepper but they made them just mild which was disappointing to find out once I got home! So the food even though it looked AMAZING it was so BLAND!! Like nothing had flavor! The wings barely had any sauce on them and they white spots on them. As if it was old. They didn't taste old but weird looking. I didn't like the food at all! The reviews were so good so I opted here as oppose to the chain restaurants and maybe that was my bad! I had to doctor the pizza up with parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes and every bite of the wings I had to dip into the blue cheese to make it edible. The blue cheese was definitely homemade and the highlight of the entire meal. Would I return, maybe to give them another try because I like the fresh ingredients even though the flavor was bland. However, I definitely will not be in a rush to go back. Also I had to tell one of the employees to change her gloves after coming from mopping the floor to going to retrieve my food. Considering it was the "owner" who we were supposedly talking to, we' have appreciated the fact that EVERY WEEK we go there.
