We met Juan from JA Floor Coverings when we were all much younger and he had a place at the Chino swap meet. It was back in the late 1990's early 2000's and my husband and I had purchased a home in Upland. The house was well over 3,200 sq ft and we were too young and obviously over our heads. We wanted to take the 1960's & 70's out of our home and Juan was our way there. That was the start of over a 25 year client contractor partnership that ultimately led to a full remodel of our home in 2011. We then had him remodel our 2nd home in Upland which we bought in 2013. Our new home is much smaller, but it is exactly how we want it. Yes, we still have some project left like remodeling our laundry room & closets. Yes, it will be Juan and crew. We have seen his son grow up from the little toddler at the shop at the Chino swap meet to the detail oriented construction professional man he is today. beware! if you want to deal with an unprofessionals and mediocre workmanship you are in the right spot. you can ask all juan's people they all say the same thing about him. not profeccional all his customer complain about him. i didn't listen but now that all the work he did is falling apart.... now i know what they meant... please look anywhere else but here. everything from the finnishes .. the electrical the plumming horrible... been having issues and not a single call back.... i will be contacting the state board even the city... this guy needs needs to be out of bussiness. read more

If you want a remodeling job that only look nice for a few years go to JA Flooring. We had wood flooring, carpet and granite work done. The wood has broken, chipped and everything else. We've contacted Juan over the years and he never returned our call. And Juan, you did this job about 10 years ago and the flooring started to look like hell in 3 years.. we just gave up. I pass your store all the time on Holt and it makes me sick. So like I said, our floors needs to be redone. So next time when I hire someone I will definitely do my homework. read more

We met with four other contractors looking for someone to help us convert our garage into a home office. Juan was our favorite from the get-go. He didn't try to push a larger project or talk us into more than what we needed. On the contrary, he was VERY practical in his approach. His quote, compared to the others, was also incredibly reasonable. When we got started, his crew was the right size for my project. They worked quickly, efficiently, and cleanly. During the project, we had several changes and add-ons, and he and his crew took them all in stride. Some of the changes were recommendations made by them significantly improving the project overall. When it came time to bill me for the extras, it was no different, his prices were more than fair. I have other projects to do and will definitely be calling him back for them. read more

I went to Juan in person who owns this shop. I was supposed to have my bathroom remodeled and maybe my kitchen along with another house I owned. Juan made everything sound great and I even purchased all my materials for my bathroom. He told me he would remodel my bathroom after I went to his shop in Ontario and picked out tile that I took a day off of work for. Once I went home I had all of my materials ready to start and he completely ignored all of my phone calls and texts. I even asked him if he was going to do the job and still no response. At least be a man and say you don't want to do the job and instead be a wuss and not even have the respect to respond to my calls after I turned away a few decent contractors. Now here I am 2 months later after being ghosted and now I have to find another contracter. Thanks very much Juan for your lack of communication. It was greatly appreciated. I reccomend everyone I talk to to not go to this place. I would be scared of even giving this man any money to start a project and have him take your money and split. BE AWARE! PLEASE BE ADVISED. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CONTRACTOR- JUAN owner and contractor of J A Flooring. The quality of work produced was unacceptable. This is why: After a few weeks of renovating my entire kitchen through J A Flooring Coverings, I had electrical issues. An electrical shocked occurred every time I'd come in contact with the sink or dishwasher. When I contacted Juan (owner/contractor) regarding this matter, he stated it had nothing to do with the quality of his work. After many texts on my end and a few weeks of waiting and being asked to pay additional fees to fix it, this crisis was resolved. Adding to my disappointment, once again electrical issues occurred after 6 months of renovation. But this time it happened on one side of my kitchen wall where the stove and microwave face, ALL outlets went out (no electrical power) that's when I realized he never added any circuit breakers to the kitchen (I'm a female with little experience of all the details required). I called again to explain the problem in hopes that he would fix the issue since lighting/electrical where included in his renovation fees, I even offered to pay for the work done since months had passed by. This crisis was NOT resolved; he dismissed my calls and had me seek help elsewhere. Another problem happened. Prior to the renovation I had NO problems with the water pressure in my faucet, after the renovation, low water pressure was detected. I immediately brought it to his attention and he stated it had nothing to do with his work and that it may be the cause of many things to which he refused to fix or look into, once again leaving me to seek help elsewhere. Overall, my experience with Juan and J A Flooring Coverings contracting business was negative. To add to my list, the details of the kitchen finishes were poorly executed. The panels at the bottom of the kitchen units came off, the outlet covers are crocked, and the wood under the kitchen breakfast bar is sticking out. The list can go on. If you need pictures I can provide. Also, he hardly showed up to supervise the subs (workers). I am so very dissatisfied. read more

J A Floorings is run as a family business and whenever you are dealing with them, they make you feel like you are dealing with people that you can trust and have your best interests at the forefront.
