The flooring install looks great and very well done…read more Erick paid attention to detail, matching the landings to the reclaimed flooring in other rooms to pull the look together, even though this was not something we'd thought of before. :) His team was also patient in accommodating a slightly later than anticipated start each day, as I had to travel to the home to let them in. There were a few hiccups with stain color, namely how it looked in natural light and with the lights on (partly due to the fact that I am new to wood staining and partly due to the red wall adjacent to the sampling we did -- please do your research if you are new to this). There were also smudges on the wall post floor staining, all but one of which Erick was able to fix up (after I noticed and pointed them out which, unfortunately, was after the project was deemed complete). Erick provided a discount for the inconvenience/the one leftover smudge, which I appreciated. Erick took responsibility for his and his team's work and was responsive to our needs and any issues. The floors look great at a reasonable price and I was able to support a small business, which I value (and hope you will too). His primary crew, who worked in my home, were respectful, skilled and kind. I am glad to recommend them to others. Edit: A couple days after the work was done, I noticed some left over materials from the project like wipe cloths, empty plastic bottles, etc. in the home (not a huge amount so not the biggest deal, but things do add up). While the actual flooring work is excellent, clean up/close up is not always 100% it seems, so that's the area I would recommend the company improve. :)

Elsa was always more than helpful in answering our questions and providing recommendations given our needs. We were always treated well and for each job went over multiple options to get exactly what we were looking for in our budget. They carry good quality materials, so even though you may pay a bit more for the materials, you can rest assured your floors will look great and last a very long time. The installer Efron was professional, on time, and left the house clean (he did both our upstairs and basement a year apart). If you're looking for a quick fix to a problem but don't care about quality, timeliness, nor losing money, then J&C flooring meets those requirements. I negotiated with Carlos to renovate both my bathrooms and install hardwood floors to which he provided a good faith estimate on what that would cost. He doesn't always do the work himself but brings in other "guys" to do the work while he goes off to other projects he has going on at the same time. The tile guy he brought in didn't seem to understand the importance of "level" or proper gapping between tiles. Many of the installed tiles were chipped or cut skewed and didn't line up properly. When Carlos returned and surveyed the work, he asked, "what's wrong with this work?" I had him tear all the tile down and redo it, essentially eating the cost of the wasted tile. Carlos will send a text at the last moment and say I won't be showing up today or tomorrow after previously promising to do so and make up an excuse as to why...usually it's because he's needed on another job. Long story short, Carlos may be good at installing flooring (vinyl, carpet, and perhaps hardwood), I wouldn't know since he quit without finishing my bathroom even after he was fully paid (unfinished niche). I would definitely think twice before letting him to do your bathroom. I had the Home Depot Pro Services come out and inspect Carlos' work since I needed the niche (which he was supposed to come back and finish) to be completed and they recommended that I rip everything out again since Carlos used the incorrect thin set (Mapei pre-mix meant for kitchen back splashes which isn't meant for bathrooms or wet environments). His favorite excuse on bad tiling is don't worry, caulking will hide the imperfections. Update: It's ironic that a business owner would respond to a review that "this is what happens to people that cry a lot". Except for having the tiling redone (eating the cost of the replacement tiles; Carlos was never apologetic about it either) not once did we complain about the extended time it took to complete the project. His original estimate was $1700 for labor only...we ended up paying Carlos over $3K, and yet we are the ones supposedly crying a lot?

We purchased Kohler rain shower plus hand-held and tub mechanism with all necessary valves from Fergussons. We kept our reclining Kohler tub with side st.steele handles. We needed to tear out and replace all prior tiles due to leak, and wet uninsulated walls around tub. Mr. Buendia and his team planned out the job, gave us a reasonable estimate, told us from when to when the job was going to be done, emailed us job proposal, we agreed and signed contract, and the the job started. They covered floors and stairs to prevent any damage, while we made sure they had access to an empty bathroom. In the middle of job we discovered that we needed to reinstall 'all walls, which we did not know when we started. Mr. Buendia and I went to the Tile store on Eisenhower Ave., and we chose together a tile that would fit and look great, and align with remaining ceramic floor. The team worked in coordinated way, and the end result is truly terrific! We are very satisfied and very much recommend Mr. Buendia's team to others. Prior to this job we had also hired Mr. Buendia for other jobs, redoing siding and trim on a townhouse, replacing basement foor with tile, replacing ceiling tiles with a true ceiling, painting, installing storm doors. Each time, we always received work proposal, reasonable cost estimate, and the work has always been excellent.
