My wife and I were having a hard time deciding if this is a sushi place that sells chinese or a chinese place that sells sushi. We ordered chow mein and orange chicken. After eating the chinese food we realized it wasn't their specialty. All the chicken in both dishes was grisly. The orange chicken was soggy and overall weird. Portion sizes were quite small. The chow mein was overly greasy and had no flavor. With soy sauce at their disposal I don't know how chow mein has no salt. I wasn't sure I could trust sushi priced at $7-8 a roll, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. We love this place so much we almost don't want to tell people about it, but the secret is clearly out since the joint is hopping even on week nights, so there isn't much to lose In short, there is no better value for sushi in the valley, and that includes the all you can eat places. The rolls here are perfectly sized (not too big or too skimpy), well made, fresh, and yummy. The menu is almost too big with all kinds of rolls I haven't seen anywhere else. This is high quality sushi at grocery store prices. I'm in heaven. Our first visit we got complimentary cucumber salad, miso, tempura veggies, four rolls, and fried ice cream for about $50 with tip. Our typical order ends up being about $30-$35 dollars for two people. For non-sushi people there are bentos and a huge selection of Chinese food and other Asian dishes. I haven't tried them, so I can't speak to that side of the menu. Bentos are 20% off during lunch hours and come with a ton of food for about $8. As if all of this weren't enough, they deliver! Trying new sushi in South Jordan Utah can be scary. I am so glad I left my fears at the door and tried this new place! First off, the staff is amazing. They are there to make sure you enjoy your meal and are constantly checking on you. Our server did not hesitate to suggest his favorites. He was friendly and nice. I was very impressed with him. Next, food, oh yes the food! We tried a little mix of everything and were happy we did. The sushi was tasty and the Chinese food were worth going back for again and again. I was extremely impressed with their signature rolls and hand rolls. The sweet and sour chicken was delicious too. To finish the meal, they brought us a sample of thief new desert on the house. I'm officially in a sushi coma and I like it! This place has a huge menu including nigiri, traditional sushi, fancy rolls, teriyaki as well as appetizers! Something for everyone. We started with miso & egg drop soup. Both had good flavor but the miso could have been hotter. The edamame were fresh and perfectly salty. The menu has sections of sushi by the number of pieces in a roll. We though the last set of rolls had only 4 pieces so we ordered two pieces of nigiri and 2- 8 piece rolls and what we thought were 2 - 4 piece rolls. Well the 4's were actually 8's and we ended up with leftovers - 4 rolls is one too many for just the two of us. But boy were they yummy. Our favorite was the executive roll, followed by Super Crunch, Kiss Roll and then the Desert Wind. Everything was fast and yummy. I would totally recommend for dine in or take out! read more

How have I driven past this restaurant hundreds of times without ever going in?!?! The best part about this review is the fact that I'm NOT even a sushi lover! Well friends, this restaurant changed me. After years of expressing my dislike of sushi -- I can no longer say that's true. Their menu has anything and everything! I love that they included pictures that didn't look like were stolen from a run down 80's restaurant. I ordered the beef noodle PHO and my husband order Kung Pao Chicken. It wasn't long after watching the Sushi Chef's and reading great reviews about their sushi that I knew I made the wrong order. My husband and I decided on the Tiger Eye Roll and never looked back. The PHO itself was actually pretty meh. Not a lot of meet / flavor and whole lotta noodles! Their definitely not known for the PHO. Stick to the sushi! My husband said he enjoyed the Kung Pao Chicken, however, I was too busy eating all the sushi to try it out. Now to the good part - the SUSHI. Like I said, the sushi change me. Since I can actually say I enjoy sushi, I really don't know how to describe it other than saying it had a crunch, perfectly sauced, and it was delicious! From what my husband said, it was at a great price so that's always a plus in my book! I'll definitely be going back to try out more sushi! I ordered 40 sushi rolls for a party we were having. We tried 10 different flavors and every one was delicious! We tried all sorts-raw, cooked, spicy, soy paper, etc. These were all fresh, unique and visually pleasing. Our takeout order was fully stocked with not only napkins and cutlery but lots of chopsticks, all the sauces to go with the sushi rolls along with individual ramekins. We decided to try this, since it was flagged as upcoming a new. It's Tucktaway in a little strip mall, right off of Bangater highway. It's Friday night, and the place was decently busy. It is very clean and very efficient. We were seated right away and the menu is very expensive, I think we clicked counted close to 150 items on the menu. I kind of got lost in all the options on the menu, they offer both Japanese and Chinese food. I went with my gut instinct and ordered the bagel sushi roll and my husband ordered the chicken version of the general tso's. We decided to start off with soup, I have the wonton soup and he had the egg flower soup. We actually ended up switching soups, not because the soups had anything wrong with them more so our individual pallets. The wonton soup had great flavor and was loaded with freshly made wontons,and egg flower soup was very delicious. In addition they did bring a cucumber salad for free, and I get the feeling that it was a trial to see what it would be successful on the menu. I thought the salad was amazing, fresh cucumbers with a little bit of tango was this covered in sesame seeds. The sushi roll was extremely fresh and delicious you could taste each individual component. The generals chicken was not bad, the waitress said it was a very popular dish, but it wasn't necessarily our favorite. For the quality of food and the price and the speed of service I would deathly go again. Speaking of service, the service was lightning fast. My husband drinks a lot of water, and his glass was never empty. Speaking of lightning, our waitress was very eager almost over eager,and I made a joke that I didn't keep one hand constantly on my plate or my fork/chopsticks in my hand that my plate would disappear whether or not I was done!! The place seems to turn around the tables very decently, and seem to stay fairly busy. There were young families middle-aged couple's first dates and then the rest of us all there. I definitely would go again, it's a quick convenience alternative for sushi without having to travel down town. I would like to investigate more things on the menu, for the other patrons plates did look quite delicious. The rolls were really good, I especially loved the Kiss Roll. I do wish they had more varieties that didn't include tempura. I'm a huge fan of sashimi, and unfortunately it was not that great. But if you are looking for a good place for rolls, where you don't have to dress up, and can feel casual, this is a good choice. The staff was friendly, the place is clean. They play pop music, which isn't ideal, but it is what it is. The noise level is a little high, but I think it comes with the casualness of the place. I'm writing this review as I stand in line for my food. I ordered my food at 7:40 and it is currently 8:40, no food on site. This is also not an isolated event as I'm waiting in line with many other people who have also been waiting upwards of an hour or more. I have eaten here in person before COVID and the food is good, albeit a little pricey for the service/quality. This is why I've given them two stars instead of one. But waiting over an hour for food is just ridiculous. It would have been slightly more bearable if I was informed of the long wait time when I ordered so I could either change my mind or leave my place much later and not sit in my car for an hour. I always enjoy tempura and General Tso's chicken. Portions are on the large side, so we enjoy family style for 4-6 people. Thereby, we enjoy a smaller sample of several, varied dishes. This is a smaller, more compact restaurant than the Fortune Cookie. It is also more brightly lit. Both are very comfortable and offer wonderful Asian cuisine! This is usually I go to place for sushi. The sushi rolls are pretty decent but everything is not. We ordered the miso soup and it was more on the watery side so I asked for more miso paste. We ordered calamari and it was so rubbery and over cooked. We ordered a fried fish plate and the fish tasted old and fishy. After this point we realize we're just going to stick with sushi since everything else doesn't seem that great to us. Prices are reasonable and they're pretty fast. read more

I really don't like giving negative reviews but I hope that the owners can read this and make improvements. This was our first time eating here. We ended up here because we were originally going to go to Texas Roadhouse but it was going to be a 90 minute wait. So I saw this restaurant nearby and decided to go in to see if it would be packed. I saw 4 empty tables and only a couple of names on the waitlist, so I decided we should eat here. We waited about 10 minutes to get seated, BUT we waited about AN HOUR to get our food. Granted it's Valentines Day, but I don't think I've ever waited that long to get food anywhere. Anyway, I ordered a teriyaki beef bento box and I was pretty disappointed. It was more like a piece of tough grilled steak, with teriyaki sauce on the side. I should mention that the teriyaki sauce was given to us about 5 minutes after we placed our order, and we literally stared at it for almost an hour before the food it was supposed to come with came. I should've listened to a previous reviewer who mentioned that the teriyaki beef wasn't good, but I figured it was a somewhat older review so maybe they improved it. Nope! The shrimp tempura roll that I ordered was spicy. I wasn't expecting that because normally they aren't spicy unless it's called spicy shrimp tempura or has some sort of indication of spiciness. We weren't a fan of the Vegas roll either. The eel avocado roll was okay but it was tiny. All the rolls seemed to have lots of rice more than ingredients. All in all, everything seemed to really lack flavor. Nothing special. read more

We've visited JC House many times. It's a great option for sushi at a good price in the south valley. I don't think we've had a roll that we wouldn't order again. JC House also serves Chinese. It's pretty good and we would order again. If you're ordering a bit of both be prepared for the Chinese to be served before the more complicated sushi rolls, unless you have it held.
