Server was friendly and our order was taken right away, drinks brought promptly. Food took a while but that's ok as we were having a great time. We started w the Kani salad. ORDER THIS! Oh boy. A friend recommended this spot to me, and we had driven by it so many times. We figured it was time to try it out. Good: The inside was decorated really nicely. Prices were reasonable. We were seated quickly. Less good: It felt really difficult to get the attention of a server or anyone else when needed. Our food was just not great, honestly. We don't live in Sandy anymore, and as we are devoted fans of our favorite sushi spot, we don't have plans to return to O-Ku. It sounds like others have had better experiences than we did. Beef teriyaki...more like asada teriyaki, tough af. The least they could do is dry brine or Chinese velveting to make it tender. Sushi rolls are great; thankfully they didn't try to reinvent the wheel with their unagi (kabayaki) and spicy mayo sauces, and crab salad recipes, and stayed true to the tried and true recipes of places like Happy Sumo and Mikado (back in the day). I just ordered the playboy and it's as perfect as ever. I usually get the California as well, but opted for beef teriyaki...buyers remorse. Hope they upgrade their beef teriyaki game. read more

May was the kindest sweetest server!! Came here on a Sunday night and didn't have a wait for a party of 5. The interior was aesthetically pleasing and clean. There's cherry blossoms everywhere and a cute robot that brings the food to your table. The prices was surprisingly pretty reasonable, but again I didn't set the bar high when it comes to sushi in Utah as it is inland, and far from an ocean. We opted for fried // baked sushi. I've only been here once but I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. It's where Britton's used to be (which I still miss) but they've turned this into a cute little sushi restaurant. We came in around 4:15 pm so it wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. At first glance, we noticed how clean it was. We were greeted promptly and our server was a little quiet, but very sweet and very efficient. She was great. They even gave us chopstick cheaters for our son without us asking! We started with edamame and tempura veggies. Some of the best tempura veggies I've ever had and the edamame was perfect also. We ordered the dragon eye and the ninja roll. They were both excellent and exceeded my expectations. The tempura banana was good, could have done with some more sauce but overall we were really happy with our meal and our experience. My quick casual sushi go to. They have a great variety of sushi options both fried and raw. The price is fair and the fish has never been a bad experience or texture. The staff and service is always quick, efficient and nice. I love raw sushi so I always get the sunset and Barbie roll. The Snow White and Vegas role are good as well for a fried option. read more

For the portion size and price point, I thought the rolls were solid! We tried a variety of rolls: Philadelphia Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, Eel Avocado Roll, Orange Lemon Roll, X-mas Roll, and the veggie tempura. I enjoyed everything I tried. The rolls were honestly bigger than expected so we had plenty of food. The veggie tempura came with a nice variety of veggies, not just one or two items like some other places provide. They're not fooling anyone with their always 50% discounted prices, but their cheap pricing and good food is definitely attracting sushi goers on a budget. I rate sushi mostly based on fish freshness and the size of the rice. It's fresh here, and the rice is actually smaller than the fish. Finally, a sushi restaurant that serves fish and not rice! Their nigiri (true sushi, imo) is priced competitively. I ordered 30+ pieces, and my final bill was $48. That's at least $70 elsewhere, and the rice portion is 2x that size elsewhere as well. If you're looking for sushi that taste great and at a price that doesn't break the monthly budget, this is the sushi restaurant in the valley to go to. read more

Sushi, poke, ramen! I came here for the first time and I would say it's fresh, delicious, and affordable. Try the Dynamite Roll (yellow tail and tuna paired with mango and jalapeño). It has a good kick, a good crunch, and refreshing at the same time. Oku Roll is good too. I will say that they are heavy handed on the sauce. It's a bit saucy with the Japanese Mayo. All the sushi were 50% off, average $7-12 a roll. Not bad at all! Moving along to the Ramen. Overall I like the broth of the ramen. Really good taste and not too oily. The ramen noodles were on the softer side. Get the Shoyu Ramen if like bok choy and more of a light broth. Get the Tonkotsu if you like spicy, bamboo shoots, or bean sprout. read more

Luckily was told about this place by Damon and odd there wasn't much for advertising or very busy? Sushi is quite delicious and the price doesn't match for the quality. Not to be a negative Ned but their prices are really on the cheaper end. That sushi boat in my photos cost ~$30 and was fantastic. Service is attentive and on the ball and haven't found a single thing that I didn't enjoy. Came for lunch after seeing the yelp reviews! We had the shoyu Ramen- lots of flavor and good portions - lots of noodles - good balanced flavor tasty pork - veggie - and egg! No name roll- shrimp tempura- crab- avocado- w/spicy Mayo and eel sauce Playboy roll- shrimp tempura topped w/ tuna and avocados Rainbow roll - a California roll topped with 4 different kinds of fish All the rolls were made well - loved that the rice was a bit warm and and rolls wrapped perfectly! The most memorable to me was the Fire Dragon, wrapped in foil and set alight at table side. We also had the seasonally appropriate Christmas roll.
