We made a reservation through Yelp, which was awesome! We ordered the teriyaki chicken for our two young kids (9 months & 2). We ordered the playboy, executive, Vegas, bagel and the fire dragon. The fire dragon was our favorite, very good flavor. One in our party ordered the sweet and sour chicken which was a huge order and very yummy! The prices can't be beat. It was our first time there and the food was ok, we had a couple different sushi rolls and surprisingly they were fresh and good, as far as the Chinese food went I have had better, we got the bento box being we went for lunch and you get a lot of food but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. We sat for an entire HOUR waiting for our sushi roll orders, which totaled 3. I am sure they lost our order, but they never bothered to find out what had happened, even though they came to our table smiling and filling our drinks. We decided to stay just to see what would happen. After the hour was up I finally got up and found the manager, who had been checking on us periodically, and only then did he go find out what had happened to our orders. My rainbow roll was disappointing at best. The fish on top of the roll was cut just under 1/8 of an inch thick, and the roll itself was about 2/3 the size of a standard roll. The same was true of my spouse's "micro-roll". We noticed that the soups were good, but the sushi rolls were bland. We may have been better off getting rolls from Smith's (which are pretty good, actually). I would have hoped that the manager would have made sure that rolls were top-notch in order to retain our business and good opinion. The manager "comp"ed my meal because it took an hour and 15 minutes to get to me. We left tired and hungry, and went to T_______ and had a very satisfying, quality meal for the same price we would have paid at J&C House. Didn't have sushi. Had the General Tso's and Teriyaki. Also had crab rangoons. Not good. We were not impressed. I'm guessing the sushi is better than the food. The prices are decent and service is great, so it warrants 2 stars for those 2 things. Basically, the sauces taste like they are from a can. Won't be coming back. read more

J & C house has impressed me now for quite some time. It is a perfect little place for a quick lunch, or a nice dinner. My family and kids love this place. There is enough variety that everyone can find something. I have been going there since right after they opened. I love the way it has grown. It is frequently busy, but have rarely had to wait long for a table. The service is great, and the manager Steven is fabulous!. Every time I have been there, they bring a cucumber salad. The sushi is quality! not Takashi by any means, but a great alternative. They deliver if you live in the area. Fresh tasty sushi to my door, yes please. Try the Golden Dragon Roll! Not into sushi? Best General Tso and pot stickers in the state! Short on time, the bento boxes are great. Amazing service. Authentic friendly, tentative servicing staff. Only downside has nothing to do with the restaurant. Shares a parking lot with a steakhouse and parking can be a bear. If you think it looks packed, it's probably the steakhouse taking all the spots. You may have to park at Lowes on a Friday or Saturday. Been there 4 times in 4 weeks. Worth the drive! read more

The sushi is great but there has been an insane wait for takeout every time. Today we ordered takeout ahead of time and waited 30 min to pick it up. Upon arriving I wasn't even acknowledged for the first 10 min. Then they made me pay when apparently they hadn't even started to make my order. I asked how long and was told he had no idea. Then disappeared for 10 min at a time leaving no one to answer questions, provide any refunds for people giving up on the wait, or let people coming in know what to do. While standing and waiting over the next hour orders came out in random order. I was told at one point that he checked and I was next, then he proceeded to bring orders to 3 other people. After 90 min I was done and just wanted a refund, but there was no one there to ask for one. When he finally brought my order out there wasn't so much as a sorry for the ridiculous wait. How about telling customers who order in advance that there is a 90 min backup, which still won't work since they won't even queue it up to be made until you are therein person and complaining about it. read more

We went here with low expectations and were pleasantly surprised. We both got the Bento box. I got chicken lo mein and my partner got the kung pao chicken. Both were excellent. For $10, we got a large portion of our respective main courses, a bowl of rice, three tempura veggies, a salad, 3 potstickers, and something else that I can't remember. Pretty good place. Some rolls are really good and some are not so good. Service is quick as others stated. But very over the top as well. The owner is so nice, but would not leave us alone when we were eating. He was hovering like a vulture, and we felt like we were on stage eating, he was constantly pacing around us and staring at us from only 10 feet away. Call me crazy, but I like to be left alone and not stared at as I eat. I only mention this because we have been here 3 times, and it happens every time. It's very uncomfortable. We love this restaurant and have taken so many friends there for their first time who also love it and plan to return. We haven't ordered a bad thing on the menu. My husband sticks to the sushi (hasn't had a bad roll) and I order from the Chinese food options. The service is great; sometimes they are a little slow getting your food to you, but we have never cared because it's worth it. The price is amazing for the quality of food you get!!
