Absolutely horrible customer service. Let's start with, I NEVER give reviews but this is a must. I bought a new refrigerator and needed service on my ice maker. The manufacturer told me to call them first in their list. When I called, they said they are too busy and not taking service calls. Then the manufacturer sent them a work order request, they called me and set up an appointment right away. The guy on the phone was super short and didn't care to hear the backstory that the ice maker has been replaced once already. Today was the service call. The man comes in my home, I start giving him the back story, claims I am mad, which I am far from it, just trying to explain b cause he said all he could do was check the temperature and that it just just be the design of the fridge. The manual explains it can fill the bucket in a day and eventually the drawer. It does neither. I was trying to explain myself and he got up said he was wearing a body cam and was going to refuse service. This is right in front of my 2 small children. Tried calling them and of course no answer. Hoping the manufacturer takes them off their service list. Absolutely horrible. After looking at the reviews, clearly I'm not the only one this has happened to. Wow. We had J&H out to our house to repair our dishwasher - this was a claim through our home warranty company. It has been nearly 7 WEEKS since our initial claim, and we are now being told that it will be another 2-4 weeks for the part. This is due in part because the originally misdiagnosed the issue and ordered the wrong part. They did make it where our dishwasher was functionable, but not repaired - no display on the screen and only limited settings. The last time they were out, we were told that they should have the part in just a couple of days. It has not been a nearly 2 weeks with no communication. When I called this morning, the person I spoke to was so incredibly RUDE - HORRIBY RUDE and completely disrespectful. Every time I tried to explain to him, what was going on, he would cut me off and begin to talk over me. I cannot even tell you how many times I tried to talk, only to be talked over and treated with disrespect. At one point, he accused me of yelling at him. I explained that I was only raising my voice because I was constantly being talked over by him. I was NOT yelling, but I did raise the volume of my voice in order to be heard over him. Nearly the entire conversation was him talking over me. I finally was able to ask him in the end, "If we were told by your technician that they should have the part and be back out to complete the repair in 1-2 days, don't you think it is just good customer service to call and let us know if that timeframe changes to 2-4 weeks?" He told me "NO." Wow! I don't think this is a big ask. My complaint here isn't even about the lengthy time to get the repairs done, it's about the lack of communication, miscommunication, and most importantly, the awful and rude manner in which I was treated as a customer. I finally said that I would just contact our home warranty company to report them and to get this reassigned to another company. He then accused me of "threatening" him, and then hung up on me. I filed a complaint with our home warranty company and with the BBB. I will never do business with this company. read more

Don't, DO NOT, call this company. We had done previous work with them last October. When we call last week to tell them that we still had the problem, the "manager" was rude, obnoxious & talked down to me, probably because I am a woman. I gave the phone to my husband to "discuss", & he too he was quickly cut off when my husband tried to say that the original problem was not resolved. The so-called manager interrupted him & said his tech did the job right. When we said we were leaving to go to CA for the Memorial Day week to see our grand-children & that we needed to have the microwave fixed asap. He said he "could" try to get someone out on the 30th. HELLO, we had just said we would be in CA for that week. We ended up calling Gabriel"s Appliance, & his tech came out this past Thursday. He fixed the microwave exactly as what we said was the original problem. J & H appears to take advantage of people who are not knowledgeable with the workings of microwaves. Wow! After struggling with my warranty company for a month over a broken washing machine I had almost given up on getting it repaired. They had scheduled me with 3 other service companies and none of them were able to help me. After a month my warranty company decided to set me up with another service company. I was given the number of J& H and told to call them to make sure they could work on LG washing machines. So I called and within the first few moments of our conversation I was impressed! Garret was able to shed some light on my washing machines problem and also on how warranty companies work. He then said he would do some checking into what was going on and would get back with me. He called that same day! Its only been 2 days but Garret was able to get things moving and solve this month long problem! Great Job! I am so thankful I found you guys! read more

I had a problem with my washer and Home Depot hired them to service my unit. Unfortunately they weren't able to service it for 10-12 days out. I couldn't wait that long and I requested that they cancel so Home Depot can look for a service company with an earlier date. The other company, the day before the appt, cancelled as they don't service Maytag washers. So I called Home Depot again and they contracted these guys again. I just received a phone call that I can't be cancelling and contracting them as they alleged that I am messing up their schedules. They weren't interested in hearing everything that transpired and I was told that they are cancelling my work assignment. A professional company would have asked what happened or what's going on but not these guys. If you cancel on them for any reason they will see you as public enemy # 1. What a bunch of unprofessional jerks... Hopefully Home Depot cancels them as a service provider. read more

I want to give this Appliance Business ten stars! We are very impressed with this company. I first explained my problem on the phone about my $10,000 Built-in refrigerator to Garrett. He explained the issue could be ice-build up or another part could have fallen in the fan area. Kevin was the technician. He called fifteen minutes prior to arrival and came on time. Kevin was thorough and took the ice maker area of the refrigerator apart to get to the fan area. He explained what he was doing and was also neatly wiping up the floor with a paper towel from some melting drips that couldn't be helped, while he worked on it. He showed us the issue. A piece of putty-like substance that lines a drip pan above, had come loose falling beneath the fan. You could see putty on the edges of the fan blade! That was causing the sound issue and cooling problems. A chunk of ice had built up as a result. Kevin neatly put our ice maker area back together and our refrigerator sounds normal. We are also happy to see the temperature gage working to get up to normal again. We commended Kevin on his knowledge. He explained he had months of training with Garrett before he serviced any appliance. WE ARE VERY PLEASED with Kevin's work and all of the service we received. I also spoke with Kelly, as I called last week checking to see if we could get an earlier appointment. She was very nice and assured me she would get us in sooner if anything became available. This business, J & H Microwave and Appliance Repair tops the list for any appliance repairs we may need in the future!! read more

Thank goodness I found this place! My over the counter microwave died on me and I was not looking forward to paying 280.00 to replace it. I only spoke to the nice lady in the office and she was very professional and made me feel welcome. She told me I could drop off my microwave and save myself the trip charge and I would get a free estimate. Well heck, I couldn't pass up that deal so I dropped it off and boom two days later it was fixed! I am unsure as to why such low ratings from some people here but MY experience was great and the price was definitely right! read more

Our home warranty company sent us here to get our ice maker fixed. Horrible customer service, they charged us our deductible to come out and the technician was super rude and condescending giving us a list of things to do. When that didn't work they scheduled a time to come pick the ice machine up. The same rude guy showed up (the machine was turned off and ready for them to take) he said he can't do anything because its turned off, I told him they had said it was being picked up. He just repeated that he couldn't fix it with it turned off said a few other rude things then left. Horrible horrible experience. read more

This review is entirely based on the office staff & cost for a service call. Thier services may be wonderful??? I will never know. I called J&H based off of their location to my home & reccomendation from another service co that said they couldn't vouch for thier work but they did come to my area . The staff answering the phone sounded put out that she was answering the phone & wasn't receptive or knowledgeable regarding my high end appliances. I booked the appointment even after the poor attitude on the phone & inexperience. I asked how the service was to be charged. I was told for them to show up & diagnose it was $156. If I wanted another appliance looked at that would be an additional $54 for diagnosis. Parts & labor were additional. I began calling around blindly & came across two other repair companies that come to my area & are actually licensed to work on my high end appliances unlike J&H whom are not BTW. I decided to go with another repair company that charges $80 for the service call if we choose not to repair however if we get repairs that fee is waved entirely not in addition to like J&H. Lesson learned with reapir services call around, use your instincts & Yelp. read more

Not only did he troubleshoot and fix my range after another appliances company installed the parts incorrectly, he saw a problem with my dishwasher and fixed it at no additional charge. Best home warranty experience I've had yet. The receptionist was very nice and the technician was amazing. He called to let me know when he'd be there and it was going to conflict with after school pick up. He knew I'd been waiting for weeks for approval for a new microwave because he'd already been out to try and repair the old one. He was able to move his schedule to accommodate my needs. I'm sorry I didn't even think to ask his name again but I enjoyed talking with him while he worked so quickly to get done so I could get to school pick up in time. I don't think we tell people often enough when they do a great job. We are quick to give a bad review so I wanted to be sure everyone knew about the great service we received from this company. I am very disappointed with my interaction with a service "tech" this morning. J&H came out to service my washing machine which has a warranty, determined it needed 2 parts replaced. About 6 weeks later, one of the parts is still on back-order. A message was left for me this morning (after I called to inquire about the status) from a tech explaining that Arizona law states that the extended warranty company has to replace if a part is on back-order for greater than 30 days. The person leaving the message told me to call back if I had any questions. This morning, about an hour later I called back with some questions. A tech got on the phone. The conversation went like this: Tech: can I help you? Me: were you the person that left the message for me earlier this morning? Tech: I don't know ma'am, I called about 50 people this morning and left messages... Me: well I had some questions (was cut off) Tech: can I help you quickly... I'm really busy Me: you can call me back later if that would be better Tech: no it would not. what do you need? Me: I wanted to ask you about how you said the extended warranty company would need to replace it since the part has been on back order... does that mean they will replace the part or the machine? Tech: it would be up to the extended warranty company... we cant do anything now and we already called and told you this. Me: I understand but you also said I could call if I have questions. I'm sorry you cant do that for me. But I appreciate your time. Tech: Have a good day (hung up). I'm appalled at this kind of service. I dealt with this repair shop through my warranty company and would never wish this experience on anyone. The majority of the individuals that I worked with at this company were rude and treated me as if they didn't want my business. They took longer than necessary to order my parts, which delayed the completion of the repair, and when they came out to repair the machine after the parts arrived, I had to call them back. When I called them back they said that "I screwed up my washer" and I did "not follow simple instructions" (the techs words). However, I was not given instructions to follow. (?) When I called they told me they couldn't send a different tech out until 4 days later, but then 10 minutes later the same tech that had been so rude to me called and impersonated a technician from the company that makes the washer, and told me how to fix it over the phone. I've never been so insulted by a repair technician, both by his words and the fact that he thought I wouldn't know it was him calling me back and pretending to be someone else. I do not recommend this company unless customer service and timeliness of repair are not important to you. read more

Home warranty company sent them. It took 2 weeks for them to come out and another 3 weeks for the part to be delivered and oven repaired. It was raining the day of repair and I asked Garrett to please remove his shoes or use booties as my home had just been cleaned, and he declined. He walked through my home with wet, dirty shoes, saying he couldn't wear booties because he had to have rubber soles in case he got electrocuted. Couldn't you wear protective shoe covers until you got to my kitchen to do the work?! read more

I have had nothing but excellent service with J & H Appliance. I purchased in 2016 a high end Kitchen Aid suite of appliances from Lowes. Thank god I purchased the extended warranty and that J & H Appliance is a certified Kitchen Aid repair company. Every one of my appliances has required a repair. I have worked with Garrett and with Kevin. I was impressed with the knowledge they had about my appliances and the tech problems these new age appliances can have. Garrett was to my home once and Kevin twice. Both arrived on time and were customer focused, they answered my questions and/or concerns and were respectful to my home. Hard to find these days! I referred J & H to my parents to repair their Wolf range. My parents had 3 other companies out who could not fix it. Kevin came out and it is fixed and working beautifully. Horrible customer service! My wife just got off of the phone with J&H and hung up in tears. We have had this company send a tech to our house twice in the past couple of weeks to fix our microwave. The first tech said he basically "put a new engine in an old car" but would probably new to be replaced. The person my wife spoke with said his tech would never say that and was trained not to do so. The repair worked for a few weeks, but it stopped working again. It took 6 days to get a second repair done. The microwave worked, but stopped working just hours later. She called today, and said the person who answered was incredibly rude and said it sounded like she was just "trying to get a new microwave." The rep said that his tracker showed the tech at our house for 52 minutes and made three repairs. He was here for about 15 minutes (maybe) and showed us one part he changed out. The rep on the phone today made my wife put a cup of water in the microwave for 30 seconds. It did not heat at all. His comment was that he could not hear the microwave running and did not believe it was running until she tried it again and put the phone to the microwave. He then asked her what is supposed to do if it is working intermittently. She asked if she should just contact a different company and he said maybe she should. We worked through American Home Shield Warranty. They initially sent someone over 10 days ago from a religious rightwing company called Christian Appliances. Two service guys showed up and told us our 16 year old SUB ZERO's compressor was toast. Fried. Badly overheated and done. They wouldn't do anything else until they checked in with AHS. AHS then connected us with J&H Appliance. Garrett was our service person. He did call 15 minutes ahead of his arrival. They were within the stipulated window for the appointment. It did take them a week to get a service person here to look at our fridge. He checked the compressor again and determined that IT WASN'T the problem AT ALL. He checked several electrical connections without finding the source of the "short" that was causing the fridge to not function. He then bent down, looked inside the freezer drawer and quickly notice a broken light bulb with the filament making contact with the fridge frame and causing the unit to short out. Removed broken light bulb, replaced...problem solved. Cost of bulb: under $10 compared to replacing the compressor unit for $1400. Buyer beware. Thanks Garrett and J&H. read more

The owner of J&H, Garrett Munger, made an extended warranty service call for my GE washer. Before I was able to express my problems with the machine, he said the problem was I was using more than 2 tablespoons HE soap. When i told him my clothes were being ripped, he said I was mixing different weight clothes in the same load. Corduroy pants cannot be washed with jeans, he claimed. When I asked if he needed to turn on the machine, Garrett said his Dad was President of GE and I should not question his judgement, It was a really bad experience. read more

This company called me to do a warranty repair on Lowes behalf. The man that called was VERY Disrespectful and RUDE from the molment I said "Hello". He offered me 1 and ONLY 1 day & time slot to send out a repair technician. I let him know was not going to be home that day. He then told me, "No one is in your area, No one is ever in your area. This is the Only time we will come out." To say the least, I talked to Lowes and they will be sending out another company. I would NEVER let Anyone so horrible inside my home. Loved their customer service. We needed our dryer repaired and we went through our home warranty service. First repair place they gave us to never called back 4 days later I called the warranty company and they connected us with J & H. Not only were we able to make the appointment right away via the warranty company, someone from J & H called us personally about 10 minutes later to confirm the info the warranty company had given them and the appoointment date and time. They were very curteous and their service was top notch. Any future repairs to our appliances will definately go through J & H. Bonus: very professional, clean, and easy to understand. My home warranty company sent me to this company when my sub zero fridge needed repair. I was a little nervous when I looked this place up online and saw some questionable reviews. I was completely proven wrong. The technician came out to my house twice, once to try and fix the ice maker, and once to replace it. They took care of ordering it and called me as soon as it was in. Both visits took less than 20 minutes and the guy knew exactly how to work on my fridge. Only gripe was the long lead time on both visits (1+ weeks). Would definitely recommend. read more

J&H technicians were sent by our home warranty after at least two other companies failed to correctly diagnose a problem we had with an LG combination washer dryer. It seems not many appliance companies know much about this machine. Garrett came out first and then Sean came out for a second opinion. Both men were polite as they explained what they found and answered our questions completely. The machine has a smart board that controls temperature and drying times according to information it gets from various thermostats. It may take up to 30 days for the board to reset properly. Because the dryer is obviously heating for the first time in months, I am hopeful the problem is solved. If not, I feel confident that Sean and Garrett will not give up. Call this company if you have an appliance problem, and you will receive competent, courteous service. read more

Our 2 year old washer started doing something odd, so we called the warranty service company who provided the name of this company. the wife made a repair time two weeks out with a 1-4 window. at 4, with no call, wife phoned the company and lady said he should have called because he was backed up, but would be there shortly. at 4:15, the tech called and said he was running late and should be here by 5:30. 5:30, no show, so wife called office, closed. 5:45, tech called, said it would be around 6:30. we had places to be, so wife said to set up another appointment when he could. 7:30, tech called saying he could get to us in a week, but would be afternoon appointment. wife asked why she shouldn't be put on sooner since they couldn't keep their appointment time. Tech said, "look lady, you cancelled your appointment today, not me." wife couldn't believe what she was hearing and told the tech to forget about ever coming to her house. This company has no customer service, whatsoever. Good luck if you choose to go with them. read more

This is a very unprofessional company my warranty company sent them out to do repairs and the technician was very rude, does not call before arriving and no appointment is ever scheduled!!! When I went to the door the man was kicking and flapping arms around and talking to himself he seemed to be CRAZY! I received a call from Bob to schedule my repair. Boy was he incredibly rude and condescending. Since they were contracted with my home warranty company, I went ahead and scheduled the appointment. I was given a few hour window on when they would be there. I asked if they call when they are on their way, he was again downright rude when he responded saying "no, we do not call and i gave you the window of time we will be there". I can't afford to take a day off work and miss pay to sit around waiting. Service man came and was much nicer. But, received a call from Bob a couple days later to schedule replacement, he was just as rude and condensing as the first time. It was so bad, I refused to continue doing business with them, called home warranty company and they are going to terminate them as a contractor and send out a new repair guy. Bob could benefit from taking basic customer service courses. My guess, he is the owner and so busy he probably doesn't care how he treats customers because he is contracted with home warranty companies. Stay away from this company! read more

I.L., 10/31/14. I didn't fare any better than all the other people who had service problems with Garrett from J & H Micro Appliance Repair in Goodyear, AZ . My warranty company sent him. I explained to him the wash cycle doesn't work. As soon as the washer fills, it immediately drains then goes into a slow spin leaving the clothes dirty and wet. I then have to put it on the drain and spin cycle in order to extract the dirty water from the clothes. I insisted he stop the drain and spin cycle because that wouldn't show what was wrong and told him to put it on the normal cycle. Even though he insisted all cycles work the same, he started the normal cycle. However, he got quite angry with me and told me he's been in the business for 30 years and knows how to fix washers. I asked him to wait for the fill cycle to complete and he would see the problem. He said he didn't have time to waste. I told him I read reviews about him on line and people were right about him and his poor service. I asked him to leave my house we had words and I swore at him he walked back towards me and threatened that I'd never get my washer or dishwasher fixed. I told him to leave or I'd call the police. By the way, the washer he started on the normal cycle never went into the wash cycle. It just filled and drained. I called my American Home Shield Warranty Company and complained to them about Garrett and asked them why I was red lined and he was actually prevented to do any repairs that day and needed preauthorization. read more

AKA J & H Appliance. Like the multitude of folks that have rated them before me...DO NOT use these people!! Heed the warning. My home warranty sent them; it was not my choice. Hind sight, I would have looked them up on Yelp before allowing them to come. The technician was nice and didn't mind my asking questions and watching him work; so far, so good! The parts needed ordered and I was told it would be 14 days. When I called after two weeks and 3 days, I called to find out the status. I was met by someone with a nasty disposition who was making it their life effort to make everyone they come in contact with more miserable than he. In his snide and condescending manner he told me it was 14 working days, not two weeks that no one works on weekends. Oh really, I do. Anyway, I waited another full week and called back, that is when he got really nasty; it was hard to believe that someone could go from snarky and condescending to screaming and talking over me in a 60 second conversation. He really lost it when I strongly suggested he calm down and think about how he was talking to me as a customer. All I wanted to know when the back ordered parts would be arriving. His answer was, "Look lady, you'll know when they arrive when your phone rings and I call you to tell you they are in. I can't make the manufacturer work faster or that you have old, outdated appliances." Is it me or is 8 year old appliances not really that old. Okay, insult me...but my appliances?! Next thing I knew he'd hung up on me and immediately called my home warranty to tell them I was harassing him. So, calling twice in 3 weeks to ask about my appliance parts constituted harassment in his mind and justified all that drama. I'm telling you, this Neal guy is quite a bit "off". Other names have been mentioned by other people, so that leads me to believe that the whole bunch are miserable. They WILL make you miserable too. BTW...9 weeks later; my appliance is still not fixed. Go figure. read more
